I think that Vriska, as she was at the moment of the flip, would always choose to leave. There can't be a timeline where she chooses to stay, because that choice is completely antithetical to the person she currently is.
There was no escape for Vriska - and I think Terezi's known this for a long time. She told Dave as much, even though we didn't fully understand what she meant at the time.
