Poem: Forecast

Poem: Forecast

The weather forecast failed to show

The spot of sunlight that would appear

In my life in the form of your smile,

Radiant despite the raging storm.

Poem: Catching Up

Can we talk a bit tonight? I’d love to

Hear what’s on your mind. Maybe I

Merely miss the mumbling of your

Soft voice as it drifts through the

Speakers in my often-silent room,

Or perhaps I prefer laughing with you

At every other turn of phrase over

Watching the ceiling fan turn. With

Each whirl that I witness, I wish that

You were with me some more. My

Heart pulls me to you like the tides

Are drawn by the moon, and I hope

To hear from you sometime soon.

Poem: Hot Cocoa

Trust your chilly fingers

As they wrap around

The warmth of a mug

Steaming with hot cocoa.

Let your cold weather blues

Melt away like bits of

Marshmallow goop

That float at the top.

Watch the steam rise

As your chest does

When you don’t forget

To take deep breaths.

Trust your chilly fingers

As they let the heat

Seep through the glass

And right to your heart.

Poem: Thoughts about Thoughts of You

I watched the sun rise

On my own and didn’t

Think of how sweet it’d

Be to spend that time

With you, but then, does

Thinking about me not

Thinking of you count

As a disguised means

Of missing you again?
