Poem: You And I
Poem: You and I
You’ve changed, but so have I –
I have new fire in my eyes.
You said goodbye, but so did I –
I’ve moved past those tiring times.

Poem: Breeze
Daydreams of you drift
Into my mind like the breeze
That rustles the curtains
As it welcomes itself in.
I have finally found peace
Enough to close the windows
And let my thoughts of you
Be whisked away by the wind.

Poem: Petals
I did my best to wander
Without you on my mind
But found pieces of you
In the petals of flowers
Along the sides of roads,
Which reminded me of
The delicate moments
That we spent together,
Blooming in the sun
Before our petals fell
One by one, and our
Hearts crumbled apart.

Poem: Good Times
I found a mood-boosting playlist
Designed, I’d like to think, to keep
My mind off all things you, but
All it managed to do for me was
Remind me of the good times,
When I felt, with you, as though
The world was ours to dance through;
As though the sky was brightened
Not by the sun, but by the glints
Of lovey-dovey smiles; as though
Our hearts would never break
And our love was shatterproof.

Poem: Scent
A Haiku
I thought myself new
But felt my heart shift again
At the scent of you.

Poem: Love Letters
Love letters have a sort of magic
about them. Each one is an attempt
by the mind to simplify a sentiment
so consuming. They’re almost as
bold as language itself for assigning
a single word to summarize such a
filling feeling. How can I reveal to you
my heart with one letter and describe
all of how I feel with the word love
alone? It would hardly be enough.
I could fill a library with love letters
and still have more to say to you,
and still have more love left over,
and still love you just as much.
