Something cool i haven't seen anyone point out yet. Lassiters middle name 'Jebediah' literally means 'beloved friend'. No idea if this was intentional by the writers but i think it's really sweet.

I think it's so interesting that Shawn isn't just a silly stupid character all the time and most certainly has an almost dark undertone to his character sometimes. I can't explain it but under all the smiles, the jokes, the teasing he seems to have a far more bitter and irritable personality. You can see it a lot i think if you rewatch the first episode compared to where i am rn for example in season 3/4 even.

It's so cool how ppl see episodes differently. I do agree that Jules is great. I love Jules. Honestly, she's such a cool, strong female character. Good point tho on the whole Lassiter acting diffrent than usual. He is a bit of a lovey dovey person as well to be fair , eventho he pretends he's not smh

Hopefully i don't get eaten alive for this psych opinion, but does anyone else get really uncomfy by 'this episode sucks'...?Marlowe really both annoys me and creeps me out. Same with Lassiter (sorry buddy).

I find it really weird that they try and make it romantic that she literally stalks him. First off she calls him his first name somehow which is really creepy if you think about it. Imagine someone just sat next to you , you've never met before and starts using your first name. Second, she admits she literally just sat there, silently waiting and watching for him to come out. Literally observing his every move and that is somehow meant to be romantic...?

Lassie annoys me this entire episode too, he acts extremely irresponsible imo and down right infuriating. He ends up trusting her over his literal closest friends he has known for YEARS, even though they clearly just care about him and want to make sure he's safe.

The touchyness of him and Marlowe that happens almost immediately is also scary, and the fact he isn't insanely creeped out by the crap she does. I hate how they touch each other constantly only a day after they have met each other. It's so out of character for Lassiter considering he's a little introvert half the time and seems like he HATES being touched, or people in his personal space. He's usually sceptical of literally everyone , so the fact he trusts her so blindly is odd to say the least.

idk this episode just freaks me out and annoys me. Not to mention the fact gus and shawn go after ..vampires..? Even though shawn doesn't believe in all that kind of crap. He acs so childish but there isn't any smart charm to it. He's just stupid.

Shawn acts like his life is a play constantly. Like he's in some sort of theatre performing or in some sort of skit with a laughing track in the background . Even though I'm aware psych is a comedy, shawn does not need to act the way he does to MAKE it a comedy. No other character acts as theatrical, nonsensical, and dramatic as shawn does, which leads me to believe this is a character trait, not just a byproduct of the show genre.

He sees his life as some big game. Like a performance that he participates in to make pop culture references, bizarre jokes, and flirty comments to make things interesting to an auidence that doesn't exist( at least in his reality). It's only when things become REAL that shawn actually shows any of the darker sides to his personality. I deffo do think he has some sort of personality disorder because he acts SO different on the surface from the far more analytical, almost antisocial personality below it all.

When anything breaks the illusion to him that his life ISNT some sort of game or play. When things get emotional , when stakes are high, when his friends are in danger or his family , shawns entire exterior personality crumbles. He becomes the opposite to everything he is normally compleatly shutting down. In the first yang episode for example he gets very mad and very upset. He consistently asks Gus to make things more lighthearted and like normal eventhough it's extreamly inappropriate given the stakes. He needs to stay in that illusion to be able to not only think clearly , but too distract himself from reality and dissociate himself from it entirely to feel a sense of stability which he does on a constant already.

Also with the first yang ep or any time he has to be forced to be serious, he seems to become a lot more closed in, emotional, and insecure which is alarming considering he has a huge ego usually about things and wouldn't just bail. He goes overwhelmingly out of character that it's hard not to notice the stark contrast.

Shawn clearly doesn't want to address the issues he has and the issues of his life. Or his emotional problems. He doesn't like being or feeling vulnerable either, so instead , he just acts as though there isn't anything wrong in the first place. If he doesn't see it, it's not there , right?

(I really love analysing shawn. He's such a deep and interesting character)

I think the reason i love Shassie so much is due to how absolutely depressed Lassiter is, that is until Shawn comes along. Yes he annoys him , yes he gets on his nerves, but it seems like Shawn genuinely was the stepping stone for him improving his mental heath.

After Shawn finding him drunk in a bar in season 1, Shawn helps him and you can see a MASSIVE contrast in his attitude after Shawn helps him out. He seems a lot brighter, happier, and even in season 1 despite all the harsh words and grabbing, lassiter clearly looks up to him and admires him in some way. Over the series as well hes a lot softer with him and seems to show very small signs of affection to him. I can't name them all but there are deffo many many instances where Shawn helps to improve his poor mental state like when he clears his name for murder for example.

Anyway i freaking love them so much. I will explode. I love to ship them but i also don't mind them are close platonic friends too.

Shawn: " I didn't say anything"

Lassiter: "don't care. Shut up"
