what if (I know this won’t happen, but we can fantasize all we want...) ALL SKAM REMAKES decide to use AT LEAST ONE (1) THE 1975 song in EVERY SEASON....

.... PLUS, they decide to make all of their seasons just as amazing and as beautiful as the original Norwegian masterpiece!!!!

but which remake is going to use “antichrist” by the 1975 in their o helga natt scen? that would be a power move

some American Things that skam austin shows (and that consequently other people find ‘boring’ about it):

they study pretty much always. I hated studying in h.s. and was a terrible student and even then, I was often at home for hours with books spread out and some project cooking in the background. 

Sports. I know that the football team being A Big Deal seems like a cliche but sports is a significant thing. For me growing up it was our soccer team. I know for some it was the swim team or basketball. Either way sports is a big for a number of reason, not just ‘social status’ but it looks great on college apps AND has major scholarship potential. Also going to games is a great excuse to get out of the house with minimal issues from the parents. 

parents are a thing. I don’t think I realized how overbearing parents in the U.S. are until i watched teen dramas in other countries. I’m not saying tv is accurate! but in relation to skam remakes, a lot seem to have no issue with following that story line. Austin has parents as a persistent Thing which leads into my next point.

Meeting in random places. I feel like American teens lack privacy the most and the show really expresses that. whether its a boyfriend or friends, most of the time the kids are meeting at school, coffee shops, parks and if lucky enough to know someone with a basement? win!

Driving. Do I even need to explain? a part of life.
