Sorry if it's more angsty than you wanted. I know being depressed and having depression can include a lot of things and there are a lot of depressed people so I wanted to include a lot of those things.

The headcanons are split in sections from least to most triggering.

Speaking from experience this kind of stuff can be triggering for some people. If so don't worry there is some smuttier and fluffier content coming soon.

When You're Depressed

-It might take him a while to notice since he doesn't pay that much attention to detail, but if you're suddenly really down, burnt out, don't want to do anything or go anywhere, he's gonna notice.

-That and he checks in on you a lot in general to make sure you're okay.

-He wouldn't bring it up in public or with friends of course. Yall's friends would be leaving for the night and as soon as they're gone he's gonna turn to you and be like, "Hey, are you ok? You're really quiet today."

-He'll listen to you and try to help you or comfort you.

-In this case you probably have depression or some kind of mood disorder (I don't know about all other mood disorders so this is more focussed around ones like depression) so he won't necessarily realise it right away.

-If you have depression and it's like you are having a constant episode for months (I've had this happen and it was awful) he'd take longer to realise it.

-But when things start getting worse and you start isolating yourself, getting irritable, quiet, numb, sleeping more or less, being hard on yourself, degrading yourself, feeling insecure, and feeling perpetually depressed, he's gonna notice right quick and each time something like that happens he's gonna ask if you're okay.

-If you lie and tell him you're fine he won't believe it but he'd back off for a while thinking you wanted to deal with it on your own. But when it inevitably keeps getting worse and you start trying to hide it, he's getting a lot more worried.

-Eventually he'll just hug you tight and say, "I know you aren't okay Kitten." And from there you probably end up bawling and hugging him like he'll dissapear if you let go. He won't let go of you until you let go of him.

-He'll just listen to you and reassure you that he loves you no matter what and he wants to help you.

-He'll try and make it easier for you to come to him when you start having an episode however he can. He's also going to try and figure out anyhting that could trigger an episode so he can avoid accidentaly bringing it up.

When You're Suic*dal or Self H*rming

-It'll take him a while to figure it out, longer than to figure out you're having a really bad depressive episode.

-If you start dressing odd to hide your self h*rming he's going to take notice of it much quicker. If you try and brush it off as you being cold or it being a fashion trend he's going to be really suspicious of it. "But you never dress like that? It's warm out how are you cold?"

-He'll try and give you the benefit of the doubt for a while. But he's just going to get more and more worried about you the more he doesn't say anything about it.

-If he starts noticing things like sharp things where they don't belong, lighters where they don't belong, or you buying a lot of bandages, he's gonna step in. He likely won't notice other less damaging forms of self h*rm like taking too hot of showers, wearing shoes that are too small, forcing yourself to stay cold and not allowing yourself to warm up, scratching, etc. (Scratching can actually be a more damaging form of self h*rm but it's harder to break the skin.) He wouldn't notice since they're not nearly as visible as other forms.

-If he finds you hurting yourself he's just gonna calmly take whatever it is out of your hands and hug you. He'll run his fingers through your hair and let you cry. He wouldn't be mad at you at all, if anything he's scared to lose you.

-You two curled up for a while. He'll help you with any of your wounds and pepper your teary face with kisses.

-Now whenever he finds you doing it again, he'll again take whatever you're using out of your hands, clean any wounds and provide you with an alternative like ice cubes with red food dye. From there he'll let you decide what you want to do, use the alternative, have him with you, forgo it and spend time alone, forgo it and spend time with him cuddling, whatever will make you feel better and help you through it.

-If you're struggling with suic*dal thoughts and ideations he has a similar reaction as to your self h*rming.

-He'll pick up right quick on any signs of you being suic*dal. If you're suddenly giving away your things, talking about de*th or making jokes about dy*ng, allarm bells are going off in his head. He'll be very vocal about his concerns for you.

-If he finds something like a suic*de note, even if it's one you didn't end up using and hid away or tried to throw out, he's putting his cheetah speed to use and looking everywhere for you.

-If he finds you before an attempt he's getting you away from there. He'll probably end up crying and hanging onto you for dear life. He's kissing you all over your face trying to reassure himself quietly that you're physically fine and you're still here.

-He'll tell you how much he loves you and again lets you cry everything out.

-You two talk for a long while about everything and he'll do anything he can to help you feel better.

-If he finds you during an attempt, he won't let you go through with it and he'll do whatever he needs to patch you up. If you have to go to the hospital he'll get you there faster than any ambulance. If you don't want to possibly be sent to any mental hospitals he'd come up with a good cover story for you.

-He won't ever leave your side the whole time and he'll be there to comfort you and talk.

-He'd never suggest anything about mental hospitals or make you go to one.

-After the whole hospital thing he just does what he did in the other ones.

-He might suggest a therapist if you wanted professional help and he'd be happy to help you find one.

-He'd also be happy to help you make any life changes to make you feel better or to avoid it happening again.

HxH Random Headcanon Time!

Can we just acknowledge how tall Hanzo is? He's a bit taller than Hisoka, so about 6'3 at least. But something I've noticed since I've been nonstop rewatching the episodes he's in is how he talks to people shorter than him.

He literally crouches down to eye level with the person, and we see him doing this at least 3 times.

He's taller than these guys, and we can see 1, that he's kind of hunched over, but he's also got his knees bent, all so he can make eye contact with them.

Here he is doing it again, knees bent and hunched over, but he's actually crouched down a little too far this time, he isn't eye level, but he can make eye contact with the person.

And here he is doing the same with Tonpa.

I don't think he's doing it to be a dick. I think he's doing it because eye contact is very important to him, and maybe not to intimidate people. Because he is very friendly and social, he only gets intimidating when Tonpa offers him the can of juice. I think if he hadn't done that, Hanzo would have continued trying not to be intimidating.
