Our homes enrage them and terrify them. They are afraid of this great, lofty, lofty edifice. They think they have been able to destroy it!
They do not know that this house will emerge from the rubble, and they will rise!
The oud inevitably intensifies, then tells us the story of sacred revenge, survival, the stable house that will not be demolished!

" my friends, I urge you to donate to me and get me to the next goal of $30000 CAD by the end of the next week. I suffer a lot, I am in constant danger, please help me rebuild my home."

Leon Kuwata and Baseball: Or, how you can't understand him without considering japanese baseball culture

I’ve noticed that Leon Kuwata is one of those characters people tend to misinterpret and reduce to a few little facts.
Even if he comes across as a really simple character (and given, he is not as complex as others) he is a well fleshed one if you give him a few seconds of thought. While I’ve wanted to make a whole Leon analysis, Tumblr user leonidai beat me to it. Seriously check their explanation!
Considering how good their analysis was, I’ll dedicate mine to a little fact that they didn’t consider (understandably so!) and that, however, seems to set their thoughts and conclusions in stone.
Thus, proceed to read under the cut my little analysis about japanese baseball culture is and how it (might have) affected Leon.
(Please excuse my sucky redaction skills)

Good news! Firas (read more about him in my post here and @/riding-with-the-wild-hunt slightly better post here) has achieved his goal of 4,100 CAD to pay off his and his sister's university fees for their second semester! They will continue their education to become doctors in Egypt for at least one more year. Bad news, his fundraiser seemed to be completely stagnant since he hit that goal, which was 16 hours ago. But reminder:
HIS GOFUNDME CLOSES ON AUG 17TH.
That is literally just 3 weeks away. And when a gofundme closes, all the money is refunded to the supporters, which would practically put Firas back to square one.
Furthermore, his goal is 82,000 CAD (~59,000 USD) , and he again has only 4,100 CAD so far. Firas needs this 82k to get his 6-person family out of North Gaza. Which includes his father, his brother, and three children.
Don't stop now since he met this one goal. Firas' family still needs your support and donations to evacuate. They are completely unable to make any money after Firas' father construction company was destroyed via airstrike. They don't have medicine, food, water or electricity. They are in a warzone and are in constant threat of bombing.
Firas and his sister Nisreen becoming doctors one day was a source hope for the Muhaisen family. Let the Muhaisen family surviving and evacuating out of Gaza be a source of hope for the siblings as they work to be doctors in Egypt.
If you can donate in any way, please do. Your small donation can go much farther if you donate in a currency larger that CAD (USD or EUR, for example.) And if you need further incentive, @/marnota is doing anthro art commissions for 5 CAD and up.

And if you can't donate right now, follow Firas at @firasmuhaisenn (or his siblings, @nisreenameen and @hashem-fromgaza ), share their posts, share posts about the Muhaisen family, share the gofundme both on and off tumblr, and keep this fundraiser in the public eye. Again we have only 3 weeks.
(This campaign has been verified by 90-ghost)

The above screenshots are all notes from posts I made for Siraj or posts I made while thinking about Siraj's fundraiser.
None of it helped Siraj avoid a stagnant campaign. He gets short bursts of activity ( he is grateful for every dollar, trust me he expresses joy at every $5 dollar donation ) but, after that the campaign stagnates for days. So all that is happening is that I am getting activity. My notes have filled up, my phone does not stop pinging- but for Siraj it is the same as always with donations trickling in slowly.
Siraj does not have time. He cannot afford time. He is not evacuating, not because he is safe or has time, but because he refuses to be a refugee. Refuses for the occupation to throw him out of his city. Anything can happen to Siraj ( May God keep him safe, I hate to even think about this) , but anything can happen...who would rebuild his house then? Who would fulfill his promise to his children?
The time is now! Every second passes in Gaza in a terrible sort of limbo!!
Siraj doesn't know what will happen in the next day, when he has to travel 3 km to reach the Internet point. The occupation forces have attacked many on the way there. But Siraj still has to brave that road, hoping that somehow, someday he will have enough friends who are willing to donate. A journalist by profession, he offers you the truth in exchange of your support. So please help him. Please listen.

I love when trauma makes characters messy. I love when characters don't know how to show love. I love when they lash out. I love when they're vile and break down. I love characters who aren't perfect victims. I love when stories don't excuse behaviour but allow you to understand it
