Logical, That's The Way Ben Seemed To Be Approaching This. The Way Five Had Hoped He Could Approach It.

Logical, that's the way Ben seemed to be approaching this. The way Five had hoped he could approach it. But, there was just something incredibly illogical about this whole thing. Like logic didn’t apply to time travel - a fact that made as much sense as it didn’t.

“The problem with time travel and something like - like the end of the world is that every little thing matters. Every little thing pushes us one step closer to the end,” he fidgeted his hands a bit, giving one shake of his head, “Nothing is insignificant and that’s exactly what makes it so hard to figure out what is going to happen. What is going to go exactly right - exactly as planned.”

As planned. The Handler always said that this timeline was meant to go this way. The apocalypse was a fixed event that was always supposed to happen. That never sat right with Five. Why was the world meant to end so soon? So seemingly random? It clearly wasn’t some divine intervention, rather just some specific series of events that were meant to kill everyone and everything.

He focused his attention back on Ben, squelching the helpless feeling building up once more in his chest. This he could control, this he could handle. There was still time before it all ended. “The spatial jumps are not the same as the time jumps. Yes, I can jump anywhere no problem - could do it in my sleep if I wanted to. But, time travel isn’t the same. You have to take into account the calculations for the precise time and place. Just moving through time could see you end up inside of something, or even too far underwater. It has to be exact.”

Five turned back to the rest of the room and the various whiteboards around. He gave a little, thoughtful tilt to his head as he approached them once again, “It would be easier to show you. So, which one of these are you willing to part with?”

random sentence starters from the walking dead  apocalyptic, survival, & found family themes

i can save lives. that’s reason enough to risk mine.

we don’t have to be friends. it just doesn’t have to be quiet.

i was good at it. it distracted me.

you can stay here and die with your friends.

you’re dehydrated.

being a hero takes a lot out of you.

i don’t believe in magic and luck.

i’m real close to shoving a gag in your mouth.

it’s time to get out of here.

what did you do for a living?

it’s obvious from the way they’re not looking at each other that they’re jonesing for it.

i remember things about people, you know?

i wasn’t going to leave her/him/them.

i have to stay.

i’m calling the shots because that’s how everyone voted.

i watched them die.

you’re leaving to fight ghosts?

we have to be here. we have to.

do you believe in this place?

i’m telling you, we gotta make this work.

my kid is here. i got skin in the game too.

i thought you were dead.

odds are, they’re dead. odds are, we will be too.

we’ve got six bullets left, and you’re still bleeding.

we get warnings, and the next time, it’s on us.

you’re being serious, right?

what are we doing? just tell me. it’s good either way.

if you’re trying to make me feel sorry for you, it’s not working.

we’re going to have to fight, and if we die, we die fighting for a place that means something.

i mean, i’m a piece of shit.

we should wait ‘til the fog clears. we need visibility.

i was waiting for you.

what the hell are we doing out here?

bad things happened ‘cause i was scared. they didn’t need to. i didn’t need to be afraid.

i thought to myself, “how long? the clock’s ticking. how long until everyone else is dead and i’m on my own?”

i was screwed up because i lost something. you seem screwed up because you found something.

i feel like i was asleep in there.

you were trying to forget. you can try.

sorry for what happened. how you holding up?

people die now. they do. there’s times like this when you can decide who and when.

those people, they care about you. that’s why you have to be there.

if you care about people, there are people to protect. there are people you will kill for. if you don’t want to kill, or if you can’t, then you have to get away from them.

everything in this life is worth a damn, that’s what i know.

out here on your own, you’ll die.

then let me die.

i wouldn’t kill you. i’d just send you away.

i know you’re following me, again. and you’re going the wrong way.

to be honest, you scare me.

people always die. you know that.

people like you are supposed to be dead.

what happened to you when you were out there?

it’s their world, we’re just living in it.

you’re afraid of me.

i’m sick of playing defense.

so, you’re just gonna take on all of them?

i had to. i don’t need your help.

haven’t they taken enough from us?

too nice a night to spend it dying slow, don’t you think?

you can’t help me. nobody can.

we’re the ones who live.

do you think we can do it?

doing something as big as that, that’s living.

if you care about anyone, there’s a price. i’ve paid it and i can’t anymore.

things don’t get better just because you want them to.

your way is going to destroy this place.

if you don’t fight, you die.

this is a suicide mission.

if we live, we live for them.

i don’t leave anybody behind. not ever.

you can be a farmer. you can’t just be a farmer.

it’s always been all of us.

what the bitch?

enemy close.

are we making our stand?

are we doing this?

he was someone who was with a whole lot of someones who didn’t listen.

we can make a deal, right here, right now.

there are plenty of ways to get where you’re going.

do you want to make today your last day on earth?

think about it. what if it’s the last day on earth for you, or someone you love?

these people, they won’t stop.
