In 2019 we grow from sex positivity to sex responsibility, meaning we:
call out shitty people who are just abusers and using kink/polyamory to mask it and stop supporting them
recognize that sometimes hypersexuality can be a form a self-harm for some people
keep kinks and fetishes in appropriate spaces and not bringing them out into general public spaces and thereby involving people in scenes they aren’t consenting to
understand that some fetishes are inherently unhealthy and some illegal to actually engage in for good reason and ignoring that is irresponsible at best

Pubic hair removal naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles, leaving microscopic open wounds. Frequent hair removal is necessary to stay smooth, causing regular irritation of the shaved or waxed area. When that is combined with the warm, moist environment of the genitals, it becomes a happy culture media for some of the nastiest bacterial pathogens.
Dr. Gibson says that whatever method is used on pubic hair – razor blades, electric shavers, tweezers, waxing, depilatories, electrolysis - “hair, like crab grass, always grows back and eventually wins.”
In her practice it is not unusual to find patients with boils and abscesses on their genitals from shaving as well as cellulitis, an infection of the scrotum, labia or penis from shaving or from having sex with someone infected.
Herpes is also an increased risk “due to the microscopic wounds being exposed to virus carried by mouth or genitals.”
“It follows that there may be vulnerability to spread of other sexually transmitted diseases as well,” she says.
“Pubic hair does have a purpose, providing a cushion against friction that can cause skin abrasion and injury, and protection from bacteria. It is the visible result of adolescent hormones and certainly nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.”
“It is time to declare a truce in the war on pubic hair and allow it to stay right where it belongs.”
people underestimate how complex and corrupted a women’s relationship to our own desires can be (because we have spent a lifetime being told what we want doesn’t matter…in general…and that we exist to serve and please others)
“kinks can be harmful to some people, and so it’s best to keep your kinks private and/or in a place where only other people who are okay with seeing or reading about your kink will see or read about it” hell yeah “actually kinks are universally morally bad and if you participate in any kink you’re evil and hurting the children. aren’t you ashamed of yourself?” hell nah
Like I would almost love to write out in full what I think about what porn has done to society or rather what our social culture has created via porn (which really is way more apt, I say this as a sex worker) but I wouldn’t even know where to begin, it’s so far-reaching and in the meantime it’s sus and annoying as FUCK that the average person doesn’t care too much to treat this discussion as worth repeated attention- the conversation is dominated by zealous TERF/SWERF radfem trash.
I think one of the reasons I don’t understand the whole ‘kink=pain and therefore its evil’ thing is that I like really spicy food for the same reason I like kink, the sensation that I get from it is pleasing. If there is nothing wrong with eating food that causes pain but not damage why would there be something wrong with another activity that does the same.
And before anyone goes 'kink can cause bodily harm its not the same’ so can sufficiently spicy foods, there are peppers you have to sign a waiver to eat because they could trigger a heart attack or cause burns in your mouth and throat and I don’t see anyone yelling about how the chefs who prepare them and farmers who grown them are abusive.
