Character A is mostly innocent, but has been tied/chained up for whatever reason (betrayal, a dangerous emotional outburst, etc). This means when the monsters start approaching, they have to plead for Character B to let them go before they're caught/killed.

Bonus if B does attempt to rescue A, but ends up having to run, effectively condemning A to death/capture.

there's actually a lot of good examples among - as you might have guessed - the DSMP/Minecraft fandom, I've heard several people openly call Dream or George (or both) queerbaiters for the jokes they make about dating.

unless someone literally admits "I pretended to be queer for attention" you really should not say real people are queerbaiting just because they are ambiguous with their gender and sexuality. They don't owe you any explanation and it's creepy and invasive and super damaging to queer people as a whole to demand it.
