Marinette Salt Prompt: A surprisingly realistic outcome for breaking into a house

Despite what people may think, Firemen (while they do focus on combating fires) are people who do more than just combating fires. They often help with emergencies as a whole, helping to comfort victims who have undergone or are threatened with injury, or assisting people involved in domestic, industrial and transport incidents, including road accidents.

Naturally, when one random Parisian firemen saw a girl attempting to break into a house of a very wealthy and rich person, they would do the right thing and stop it.

After stopping Marinette from breaking into the Agreste household, the fireman quickly called the police to detain the girl and contact her parents, hoping that the issue could be resolved. Unfortunately for the bluenette (who couldn’t stop Adrien from being forced to spend time with the evil Lila!), the only officer close by was Roger Raincomprix, who was taking his daughter back home at the time. Although the appearance of Oni-Chan allowed Marinette to slip away and transform, it didn’t stop Roger from calling her parents the next day and explaining what had happened.

It also didn’t stop Sabrina from telling Chloe, who was more than happy to tell anyone who listened. By the start of the next morning, most people in the school knew what had happened with Marinette. Not only that, but Adrien and Gabriel learned about it as well.

For Gabriel, the answer was more than obvious: he placed a restraining order on Marinette from being able to be anywhere near his son. While she could still be allowed to go to school, Adrien would be moved to a different classroom to continue his education. Naturally of course, Gabriel would also ensure that the bluenette would NOT have her work (such as the derby hat) featured anymore on the Gabriel brand, and with a few public leaks about the incident, ensured that the bluenette would effectively be BLACKLISTED from pursuing any career in clothing design.

For Adrien, the reaction was more mixed, at least at first. He understood to some extent why Marinette would try and get in (since Lila did something that really made him uncomfortable), but it still was wrong of her to do such a thing. Not to mention that he ended up having to move away from his homeroom just to be allowed to study at school, effectively reducing the time he spent with his friends. Still though he was mixed about his feelings for Marinette…at least until Alix mentioned how obsessed Marinette was with Adrien. 

After inquiring with Alix about what she meant, and confronting a somewhat shocked Alya, Adrien quickly learned about Marinette’s crush on him along with her obsession with the blonde. Putting the pieces together (even if it wasn’t fully true or false), Adrien came to an immediate realisation, and lost all interest in seeing Marinette again, or acknowledging her as a friend. After all, this is not the first obsessive stalker he has met or known about, but it hurt knowing that one was someone he once considered a friend.

For Marinette, the situation quickly became worse. Most of her former friends immediately shunned her upon realising of what she had done (even if it had been due to Lila being a liar), and while Nino and Alya did try to be somewhat caring (even if they were still angry at her), learning about the restrainment and learning that Adrien no longer considered her a friend broke her hard. 

She had quickly ran home, only to learn that it wasn’t good there either. Tom and Sabine had been told what had happened the other day and immediately grounded the bluenette, along with organising an appointment for her to go see a therapist, given that she attempted to break the law all because of a boy.

Tikki was sad about what happened to her chosen, but acknowledged that what she did was wrong and that the current events were the only logical outcome. While she wouldn’t leave Marinette, it was obvious the latter needed more discipline, but with Fu training her to be the guardian, perhaps she could learn that skill. Not that she would have much else to do in the future, given that Marinette had broke into tears upon realising her dreams as a fashion designer were over.

A few days later, Ladybug would go on patrol with Chat Noir. Seeing that the latter was down, she asked him what was wrong. While Chat Noir did not tell her who he was, Ladybug was quickly able to figure out who Chat was as the latter told her the story about how a “creepy stalker he once considered a friend” attempted to break into his house.

While outwardly she offered him comfort, inside Marinette could only quake and cry at the ironic realisation: the boy she loved was the same hero she turned away advances from, and now that boy would hate her forever.

And so while life would continue on and the heroes would end up saving Paris, that week ended the childhood dreams of Marinette Dupain Cheng. Her dreams being a fashion designer with 3 kids and a hamster with her beloved all went up in smoke.

 All because she forgot that her actions had consequences.
