- It’s definitely Wei Wuxian since he doesn’t have much of it lol when it comes to gift giving. Meng Yao is definitely the breadwinner who’ll pay for a majority of everything but is adequately frugal about it.
2: Who sleeps in the other’s lap?
- Definitely Wei Wuxian.
3: Who walks around the house half-naked and who yells at them to put on some clothes?
- Lol! Wei Wuxian walks around naked and Meng Yao yells at him to put on some clothes like an angry mom!
4: Which one tells the other not to stay up all night and which one stays up all night anyway?
- Both. When Wei Wuxian has gained a new hyperfixation and when Meng Yao is crammed with work. They take care of each others’ health. During the day, Meng Yao would set up alarms in Wei Wuxian’s phone to help him keep track of time with reminders that no, doing something for two-four hours straight without taking a break is not healthy. He would also cook him food, especially the recipes that Jiang Yanli taught him that will help make the man sleepy. Wei Wuxian on his end is about the aftermath because work is work, but after it’s completed, he helps ease Meng Yao’s head with dumb laughter, a bit of couple yoga and exercise and a creative date. So in the end Meng Yao is calmed down from all the brain work and he can sleep peacefully.
5: Which one tries to make food for the other but burns it all by accident and which one tells them that it’s okay and makes them both cookies?
- Definitely Wei Wuxian burning the food when he thinks he can multitask on a new recipe but it goes wrong! And Meng Yao would have the both of them make the cookies together to cheer him up.
6: Which one reads OTP prompts and says “Oh that’s us!” and which one goes “Eh, not really”?
- Meng Yao would be the former and Wei Wuxian the latter. It would seem vice versa with how the question is phased, but I can definitely see Meng Yao being more into OTP prompts and other social media posts in relation to relationships and loves to see his relationship mirroring the positivities while Wei Wuxian seems more aloof to such a thing and thinks of their relationship as more individualistic.
7: Which one constantly wears the other’s clothes?
- None of them. Meng Yao is too small and their styles are too different where Wei Wuxian is more punk while Meng Yao is more prep. But if there’s a snuggly hooded sweatshirt in there, Wei Wuxian will never find it until he sees Meng Yao using it.
8: Which one spends all day running errands and which one says “You remembered [thing], right?”
- Both, but it will definitely be Meng Yao mostly doing the errands because he’s very particular of which brand is bought and loads up when there’s a sale.
9: Which one drives the car and which one gives them directions?
- Wei Wuxian drives the car and Meng Yao gives them directions.
10: Which one does the posing while the other one draws?
- I can see Wei Wuxian wanting to make a fusion-sketch for Meng Yao as a gift, and he uses the fusion generator, and fused Meng Yao with fuckin’ Larry the Cucumber and it brought Meng Yao to tears. He loved it. 🧡
11: If they were about to rob a museum, which one does backflips through lasers and which one is strolling behind with a bag of chips?
- I can see them both doing the backflips through lasers. They are robbing a museum together and they are both going to do it with style.
12: Which one of your OTP overdoes it on the alcohol and which one makes the other stop drinking?
- Wei Wuxian = alcoholic. Meng Yao will definitely try to help him drink in moderation with Wei Wuxian’s consent to do some psychological tricks that he learned from experts.
13: Which one likes to surprise the other with a lot of small random gifts?
- Definitely Wei Wuxian, and it’s all handmade. He’s a fuckin’ tiktok handcrafts man so there’s a lot of small pieces of art (forgot the word) lying around and some of the more meaningful ones they store but others they either donate it or sell it.
14: Which one keeps accidentally using the other’s last name instead of their own?
- Considering this is Chinese culture, neither of them.
15: Which one screams about the spider and which one brings the spider outside?
- They both bring the spider outside or most likely kill it to be honest.
16: Which one gives the other their jacket?
- Definitely Wei Wuxian, but if they’re like at an airport cuz of a layover, it would be Meng Yao handing him his jacket to use as a blanket.
17: Who keeps getting threatened by the other’s overprotective older sibling?
- Wei Wuxian if Jin Zixuan is in Meng Yao’s life cuz I can see them getting along as brothers and Jin Zixuan questioning why Meng Yao would want to be with Wei Wuxian of all people because as far as he knows, Wei Wuxian is a daredevil with attitude issues. But if not, then neither. Yanli and Meng Yao would be besties. 💕🧡
18: Who’s the first one to admit they have feelings for the other?
- To each other, Wei Wuxian. As oblivious as Wei Wuxian is in the books, it’s honestly because no one who was interested in him showed obvious signs whereas Meng Yao would make it clear for him that he’s interested in dating (as in testing the waters before heading into a relationship). And there’d be some genuine romantic growth and Meng Yao will definitely tell his besties that he has feelings for Wei Wuxian, but Wei Wuxian will tell Meng Yao first and foremost that he has formed deeper feelings after facing the question from most likely his siblings. Like he’ll dance around the question with his siblings, but when facing Meng Yao is when he can form a more solid stance on the question.
- And this answer gives the impression that it would be Meng Yao who makes the first move. And honestly he would. Wei Wuxian is confident and flirty, but he’s not a romantic at heart. Being a flirty aro/grey romantic is a thing. As for Meng Yao, he is ambitious, social and a panromantic. He can and will ask someone out on a date if social pressure isn’t included.
19: How good would your OTP be at parenting?
- I can see them being compatible in parenting together because Meng Yao is stability while Wei Wuxian is adventure. Meng Yao will provide everything a child needs and is a strict believer on never physically punishing a child, and that definitely establishes a trust and admiration that Wei Wuxian has for him. As for Wei Wuxian, he is controlled chaos. He was the naughty child™ so he understands the wild impulses and knows how to navigate those strange ideas and naivety (better as he matures). And Meng Yao always relies on him to help him understand things that might fly over his head because he was the quiet, good child™.
- I often think about Xue Yang as the example child, which is a terrible choice. They’re like only around 5 years apart and he’s like the worst combination of both. Sensitive™ like his Meng-dad and Vicious™ like his Wei-dad. But if reincarnated or reenvisioned as their adopted son with a similar traumatic experience and Jin Guangshit isn’t in the picture, I can definitely see Meng Yao being very soft, loving, patient and being a disciplining solid foundation with Xue Yang’s issues and gives him the stable home life that he needs. And with Wei Wuxian, he helps the kid open up about himself and they have a lot of fun together since they do have a lot in common, so he gives Xue Yang the life that he wants. Xue Yang will still beat up people and talk shit but his maliciousness would be cut down exponentially cuz he doesn’t want to upset his parents, y’know.
20: Which one types with perfect grammar and which one types using numbers as letters?
- Meng Yao for the former and Wei Wuxian for the latter XD
21: Who gets attacked by a bully and who protects them?
- Do I even have to answer that? Wei Wuxian would be beating anyone’s ass the moment someone comes for his lover and his sister’s bestie. Like you thought what happened to Jin Zixuan was bad, you haven’t see what happened to Meng Yao’s bullies.
22: Who makes the bad puns and who makes a pained smile every time the other makes a pun?
- Wei Wuxian be rolling in with puns and Meng Yao is smiling in pain until there’s a perfect opportunity to clap back and Wei Wuxian is utterly assassinated.
23: Who comes home from work to see that the other one bought a puppy?
- I imagine them adopting a ferret as a pet, but as a surprise pet, I can see Wei Wuxian helping a box of kittens get adopted and keeping one for them. Meng Yao will leave most of the responsibility to him, but slowly, he works around his schedule to spend time with their pet cat.
24: Which one gives the other a piggyback ride when they’re tired?
- Wei Wuxian would definitely give the piggybacks, but when he is dead tired, Meng Yao is capable of giving him a piggyback ride cuz the man goes to the gym and he has muscles of his own.
25: Which one competes in some sort of activity and which one does the overzealous cheering?
- Meng Yao being a secret otaku who competes in those card tournaments and Wei Wuxian being the supportive bae who definitely does those side character monologues XD.
26: Who takes a selfie when the other one falls asleep on their shoulder?
- They both do. Wei Wuxian does it to show off to his siblings and friends. Meng Yao does it to remember the cute moments.
27: Which one would give the other a makeover if they asked?
- Meng Yao is a beauty salon personified. If Wei Wuxian wants a makeover, he just asks him, and Meng Yao gives him the full treatment. Imagine Wei Wuxian with a sexy textured slick back haircut, glowing skin, tapered eyebrows, and he’s still dressed like a punk but with class.
28: Which one owns a pet that the other is absolutely terrified of?
- Lol, an open door to Cynophobia therapy.
29: Which one holds the umbrella over both of them when it rains?
- Wei Wuxian. Hands down on Meng Yao’s head.
30: If your OTP went on vacation, where would they go and what would they do? Who would take the pictures?
- Being tropical residents, I can see them traveling to somewhere cold for something new. Definitely one of the Scandinavian countries or other northern countries that have a view of the aurora borealis and with mountains to go snowboarding/skiing on. They would both take pictures and videos of moments they want to capture forever. For Meng Yao, it’s the food, the people and the architecture for the *aesthetics* while Wei Wuxian want to capture their first new experiences and the random people he became friends with along the way.

First to apologize after a fight: Meng Yao.
- Wei Wuxian isn’t the type to apologize unless told to by certain people like Yanli. He just lets the issue either escalate or dissipate with time because what’s done is done and they just have to move along. Meng Yao, however, does do apologies and expect apologies because it helps start a proper conversation to fix their issues.
The more popular/charismatic: Wei Wuxian.
- Wei Wuxian befriends anyone while Meng Yao is more picky of who he allows in his social circle.
The best caregiver when the other is sick: Meng Yao.
Does the cooking: Meng Yao.
- Because he knows how to cook, automatically makes him the better caregiver.
Does the housework: Both.
Does most of the speaking: Both.
- It really depends on the subject. If it’s casual, Wei Wuxian will speak the most. If it’s professional/political, Meng Yao will speak the most. And it’s honestly what attracts them to each other the most. Wei Wuxian is basically trivia and story-telling for Meng Yao while Meng Yao is like an encyclopedia or the news but explained in an engaging way.
The overprotective one: Wei Wuxian.
Designated Driver: Meng Yao.
Has good penmanship: Meng Yao.
Has more experience with relationships: Meng Yao.
- I chose Meng Yao for this particular one because Wei Wuxian is indeed a flirt, but he’s like all anime protagonist that is all about adventure than they are about romance. Meng Yao on the other hand is an office worker/high school protagonist who is about their career/studies and has side plot boyfriends.
Sensitive to subtle changes in their partner: Both.
- They’re both really observant people so they’ll both catch on to any change. For how they’ll react, Wei Wuxian won’t pay too much attention to it at first, but if it really bothers him a few hours down the line or comes up spontaneously, he’ll ask about it. Meng Yao on the other hand will file it in his brain and not make a comment unless it happens twice and then will get to the bottom of it.
The one who proposes: Wei Wuxian.
- Given how both grew up, marriage would hold such a negative stigma that neither would really consider it. Meng Yao would see the financial benefits to being married, but of course with marriage comes with being legally bound to become an in-law of the Jins, and Meng Yao would not want that for his boyfriend. So it’s really up to Wei Wuxian if he wants to get into that messy family, and I can see him doing it when he actually takes a moment to think of the future after watching a hospital drama episode, and will want to make sure he is able to protect what is Meng Yao’s against the Jins if anything were to happen to Meng Yao. So not so much out of romance but more out of legal protection.
The one who dies protecting the other: Wei Wuxian.
It’s not because Meng Yao loves Wei Wuxian less, but that the demonic cultivator is impulsive. So like if a car was about to hit the other person, Meng Yao would’ve pulled Wei Wuxian out of the way, but Wei Wuxian would hurl himself to push Meng Yao and get hit instead.

How it happens: It’s definitely a slow burn love for both of them because on the surface, they don’t seem compatible, but the moment they talk to each other, that’s when it clicks, and the more they talk to each other, the more and more their interest builds until they can’t stop thinking about the other and in almost every situation they wonder what the other would say about it.
Handling conflict: Meng Yao doesn’t start any arguments, but when caught in one, it really depends on how severe and personal the argument is to determine whether an apology should be served or not. As for Wei Wuxian, he doesn’t necessarily start arguments. He mostly gets dragged into them and when it comes to forgiveness, again, he’s not big about apologies. He’ll either forget or even the score, but with Meng Yao, he’ll feel guilty, bothered or disassociated from the issue until Meng Yao tells him it’s okay to talk.
Relationship Attitude: They’re both extremely dedicated to the relationship since falling in love isn’t an easy thing to accomplish for the both of them, and Wei Wuxian doesn’t mind PDA and Meng Yao also doesn’t mind it as long as it’s kept to a minimum. No making out but pecks and hand holding are fine.

Showing Affection: They both take initiation to show their affection whether it’s verbal or non-verbal. They both like to playfully flirt with each other, and Wei Wuxian likes to build stuff for Meng Yao while Meng Yao likes to spoil him as the sugar daddy.
Dealing with jealousy: They do get jealous when they see someone flirting with the other, but they’re not tasting too much vinegar because they trust their partner. Wei Wuxian will definitely need a lot of attention because jealousy easily comes with insecurity despite Wei Wuxian’s ego. Meng Yao on the other hand does have confidence, but his pride will make him step away to cool down first before he starts giving signals for attention. And they’re both amused that the other is jealous because “Really? Them?” and cuddle the other person.
Attachment: With the dedication and initiation they show each other, there’s a lot of room for independence where they strive in their own worlds, but love being in their own little world, too. Wei Wuxian though can be overprotective because Meng Yao is an easier target for harassment.

1: Does anyone in your OTP/OT3 have seasonal allergies that kick up in the spring? How does the other member(s) help?
- I can’t imagine either of them having seasonal allergies, but if one did inhale too much pollen, I imagine the other would care for them as one would with a cold.
2: Where does your OTP like to go walking when the weather is warm?
- A hiking park. The sceneries are beautiful, you’re not crowded by a lot of people, and there’s usually a good amount of breeze so it’s not sweltering.
3: How would your OTP handle it if one of them became a bee?
- Wei Wuxian would build a bee home for him with all these cool gadgets to impress Meng-Bee. Meng Yao would take the simpler route and buy a bee home for him with all the necessary items to keep him alive. They would both try to figure out how to bring the other back to normal, and if it requires going out, they will call for Yanli to help ba-bee-sit their lover.
4: Does your OTP plant flowers/tend to gardens?
- They will definitely have a lotus pond in their backyard, and a vegetable/fruit garden that Wei Wuxian tends to the most since Meng Yao has a 9-5 job, but he helps around during his day offs and listens to Wei Wuxian talk about his masterpieces passionately. They’re not big on a pretty flower garden, and their indoor plants are basic useful low maintenance ones like a snake plant.
5: Does your OTP like the beauty and new life of spring, or the cold winter?
- Wei Wuxian prefers the Summer and Meng Yao prefers Autumn, but if you had them decide which one, they would pick the spring since they’re tropical people. They would rather deal with rain than snow.
6: Does your OTP celebrate any holidays during the spring? How?
- They’re Chinese, and they do have a Spring Festival, though it’s more of a New Years festival that takes place late Winter. During Spring, they will definitely celebrate the Qingming Festival to pray for their parents if they’re dead in the AU. For Labor Day, depending on what jobs they have, they will stay in and become couch potatoes binging on television shows, since they’re such busy people. For the Dragon boat Festival, Wei Wuxian would definitely be participating in it, and Meng Yao would support him from the sidelines.
-Meng Yao is also a Buddhist (of sorts), so he will be also celebrating their holidays in his own way and Wei Wuxian will be supportive.
7: What sorts of spring sports does either member of your OTP participate in?
- They’re both athletic, and swimming is the number one sport they both participate as river people. Along with water polo, rowing, fencing and volleyball.
- Separately, Meng Yao would invest in badminton and Wei Wuxian would get into lacrosse.
8: Does the other member cheer their lover on?
- Absolutely! Meng Yao would bring out his Yunmeng dialect into that audience during his boyfriend’s lacrosse games, terrifying the shit out of those near him! Wei Wuxian would cheer him on while remaining on his best behavior, but if he hears someone speak bad about his boyfriend, he might get into a fight and get kicked out. Not without slaughtering the asshole’s ego though.
9: If your OTP watches anime, what shows would they be looking forward to this spring season?
- They’re both Attack on Titans fans. Meng Yao’s favorite character is Erwin and cried when he died. Wei Wuxian’s favorite is Sasha and became distraught when she died.
- A new anime that they would get into is Mashle because it kind of resonates with them, but they also love anime comedies.
10: How would your OTP react if it started to snow during spring?
- They’d investigate the cause first. Afterwards, they would go out to examine and play with the snow to experience the rare event. They’d probably travel to one of their sibling’s or friend’s place to share the moment.
11: Which member of your OTP accidentally wears an outfit too warm for the weather? Which member of your OTP accidentally wears an outfit not warm enough for the weather?
- Meng Yao for the former and Wei Wuxian for the latter.
12: What kind of flowers does your OTP give to each other?
- Meng Yao’s favorite flowers are chrysanthemums, and Wei Wuxian is careful to choose the right color. As for Wei Wuxian, lotus flowers aren’t good for a bouquet, so instead Meng Yao gifts him gladioli flowers which stand as a symbolism of one’s moral and loyal character and remembrance.
13: Which member of your OTP freaks out when they hear an ice cream truck pass by?
- Wei Wuxian a 100%! He would even go the extra step to rush to Meng Yao and convince him like a child to follow him to the ice cream truck.
14: Does your OTP care about how green their lawn is? Do they even have a lawn?
- Meng Yao cares about how green his lawn is since he cares about outside appearance, so he hires someone to take care of the front lawn.
15: If your OTP starts school in spring, where do they go to get supplies? Do they end up sharing any classes?
- Meng Yao would definitely shop around to any store for the best prices for the best quality, and would contact the professors beforehand so he has a list. Wei Wuxian would just get his from your typical store, or gives a list to Meng Yao since Meng Yao would go out of his way anyway to make sure he was ready for school as much as he was. And Wei Wuxian would thank him with other preparations for the semester.
- And no to the classes because Wuxian would be working to get his degree in science to become a pharmaceutical scientist, and Meng Yao would be studying to get a degree in business administration.
16: Who would surprise the other with flowers?
- Meng Yao definitely has that flower theme going because of his family, but I don’t see them as the type of couple to give each other flowers as surprise gifts. Their surprise romantic gifts would be a cup of coffee.
17: Who’s more likely to make a flower crown for the other?
- Wei Wuxian.
18: Does your OTP prefer to go outside during the spring, or do they prefer staying inside and cuddling up on a couch?
-Definitely going outside. They cuddled enough during the Winter/Raining Season, they need to go out and jog.
19: What sorts of wildlife would your OTP like to see? What kind of wildlife would they not like to see?
- They’d like to see insect wildlife since they’re the most diverse and interesting type of wildlife. They wouldn’t want to see mountain wildlife, especially on a hiking trip.
21: Which one would surprise the other by taking them to the beach before the summer crowd comes?
- Meng Yao would surprise Wei Wuxian with this, especially after a long stressful project. It would be right before sunrise. It’s cold, so they’re covered in winter jackets and pants, playing with sparklers, or those fun light up toys. They’d then have their breakfast inside the open trunk of their car while watching the sun rise, listening to alternative indie music in the background. After the sun is fully up, they do different things like building sandcastles, draw elaborate sketches in the sand, take a swim once its warm enough and more.
22: Which one’s hat would blow away in the wind and which one would go after the hat and bring it back?
- Wei Wuxian a 100%. He’d be doing parkour to get that hat!
