Ok so fun fact about me, I’m obsessed with @gayparapsychology on tiktok’s Villan Midoriya AU, including the single best Villain Midoriya outfit you’ve ever seen, go check their art out if that sounds interesting, but anyway I drew his design for Midoriya because I love it.

Midoriya: Well of course I have.

So,,, ya know the Dabi and Todoroki fan theory, and how it sorta relies on Dabi having dyed his hair? I just had a random thought, lemme know if y’all have heard this. He’s a Midoriya. STAY WITH ME HERE.

Izuku’s hair color is black and green, and Inko only has green hair, meaning the black parts of his hair must, genetically, come from his father, Hizashi Midoriya.

One of the only things we know about Hisashi is that his quirk is Fire Breath. We also don’t know his eye color, but if he had, say, blue eyes, or even if there were blue eyes in Inko’s family, it’s quite possible.

This is totally a crack theory and I find the Todoroki theory much more interesting, but the possibility appeared to me while I was drawing.

So, because I’m a writer, Dabi’s backstory goes something like this.

Inko gets pregnant in her late teens early twenties, and marries Hisashi around the same time.

The baby is born. This is Dabi. Dabi (or whatever his real name is) has his dad’s hair, making him almost impossible to recognize as being Inko’s son.

Dabi develops his quirk age five, which is when he accidentally started giving himself scars.

The next year, Izuku is born.

Dabi hates him. At this point, Hisashi has already started going on business trips, which keep getting longer, and Dabi resents him. And then, he gets a little brother who looks like his mom, who he actually likes and wants to be around, while Dabi still looks like Hisashi.

So Dabi becomes a problem child.

Izuku is barely 2 by the time Dabi is running away and getting dragged back by the police.

Then they find out Izuku is quirkless. That’s the last straw. He’s only twelve, and Dabi leaves home for good. He doesn’t even really know what he’s doing. He starts burning himself to keep warm, which is where the majority of his burns come from.

He’s approached about the league when he’s 15, and of course he says yes. Izuku was an All Might fanatic, even before they found out he was quirkless. And he’s so angry at the world for letting his little brother believe he even had a shot.

Beyond that, he’s 15, and had been on the streets for three years. Away from his mom and little brother. They can help him eat. Have a roof over his head sometimes, and even be acceptably amicable.

He loses his shit when they recruit Toga though.

And can you blame him? She’s 16. And no, he’s projecting both himself and his estranged baby brother on her, shut up!

The kidnapping of Bakugou fucked him up though. He was cooler about it than Toga, but he obviously knows that Izuku is in 1-A. It’s too close to his past for his liking.
