Who's This? Who's This? In Twisted Wonderland, What's This? I Think They're Not From Around.

(I had this pop into my head, it's just something fun lol)

Waking up in a coffin with a fiery cat, and I mean that literally, banging on your coffin is Not what you call a good wake-up call. Then again, feeling around and bumping into horns which strangely enough are on your head, is a close second in strange events.

Actually, where are you? Forget the horns and tiny flaming gremlin cat where the Heck are you? While pondering the weirdness of your situation, someone opened your casket.

. . . I'm sorry. . . Is a massive, , , Bird? Talking to you? Okay, this just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

"You're late! You have to get going or you'll miss the entrance ceremony!! Here I'll show you the way. Aren't I the most benevolent being in twisted wonderland? You may hold your praise of me until after the ceremony."

This day just keeps getting more and more unreal. . .

Finally, you and the large birdman apparently named Crowley, arrived at the Hall of Mirrors as Crowley called it.

The Entire Room turned to watch your arrival. Spiking your anxiety doesn't even begin to describe you at the moment. Well, this is fun. . . Said no one with anxiety ever.

"Well, go on! What are you waiting for? Walk in front of the Dark Mirror and see where you belong."

You slowly dragged your feet towards the mirror and saw your reflection in the glass. Somehow, you have two blue horns that curl around your head and snow-white hair. With pale skin and sea-blue eyes, you're more snow-white than Snow White herself. Before you could inspect your new appearance anymore, a large face appeared in the glass blocking your own reflection.

" . . . "

" . . . "

As you and the mirror stared each other down, everyone in the room watched on in interest.

"I cannot place this one. They do not belong here. "

"I'm sorry, what?" Is all you heard from Crowley behind you before the entire room started whispering to each other. Shoving you out of the way Crowley moved in front of the mirror.

"What do you mean they don't belong here?! They were brought by the Black Carriage just like everyone else! They were in one of the arrival caskets! What is the meaning of this!"

Walking forward you stood beside Crowley as the mirror turned to look at you.

"They are not of this world. They do not come from Twisted Wonderland." The Dark Mirror said. You let out a giggle,

"Well, of course! I could have told you that." Still chuckling you turned to see a very ruffled Crowley as he stared at you.

"Where are you from then?!" He asked rather loudly.

You opened your mouth, only to shut it again. Where are you from? Up till now, everything was so crazy that, you didn't even realize you didn't know where you came from, who your family is, or where you were born, you remember nothing. Who Are You?

"I don't know. . ."

OOOOOOOO, Spoooky!! Yeah, I just whipped this up from an idea I had. Hope you guys like it!! :3

A New Beginning

Twisted Wonderland

Deuce overheard his mom speaking on the phone to his grandmother one night. Her words that night play in his head over and over again.

Word Count: 1842 ✯ AO3 Version

Characters: Deuce Spade, Deuce’s mom

Tags: Character Study, Light Angst, Minor Story Spoilers for cards and main story details to pertain to Deuce’s backstory, a few lines of dialogue lifted directly from main story

(A/N): This is my event entry for the prompt “New Beginnings” by @briarvalleyarchives ! I am…not very creative with titles…I hope you enjoy this short piece on Deuce and a brief look into his life before he would have received his letter from NRC.

A New Beginning

“All I ever did in middle school was screw around… I was a terrible person that went as far as to use magic to lord over those who couldn’t.

Then, one night…I saw my mom hiding away tears as she called my grandma.

‘Was the way I raised him wrong?’

Even though none of it was her fault…

I swore that I would never make her cry again.”

Deuce slouched at his desk as he stared blearily ahead at the whiteboard, the writing on the board some assignment or other he couldn’t be bothered to focus on reading right now. The chatter of his classmates, whispering amongst themselves about his presence in the room, was nothing but a buzz of white noise as he mulled over the conversation he’d overheard his mom having with his grandma on the phone last night.

“Is it my fault for not being there for him more?” she’d all but sobbed into the phone.

“Tch.”

He scowled at the memory, scoffing at the classmates that flinched away from his glare. Exhaling and forcing his face to relax, he turned his back on them to stare out the window and watch the clouds, like his mom had taught him to when he got too irritated to contain it.

“Was the way I raised him wrong?”

He forced his jaw to unclench as the morning bell rang, forcefully focusing on the clouds while the teacher called roll.

“And now Spade, who - huh? Spade? You’re here today?”

He glanced over to find his home room teacher slack-jawed, the untrusting stares of his classmates crawling all over him.

“Well,” his teacher coughed, poorly attempting to compose himself, “if even the infamous Deuce Spade of all you failures can bother showing up for once, then maybe there’s hope for the rest of you lot making it to graduation yet.”

Deuce’s hands clenched as he focused on watching the clouds.

“Would it have been better if he had both parents?”

The morning lecture droned on too fast for him to grasp anything well enough to take notes that would make any remote sense. The class work that got passed around, when his classmates even bothered to give him a handout, might as well have been written with instructions done in gibberish.

“I…,” her voice cracked, dropping to such a whisper that Deuce had to strain his ears, “I feel like a stranger to him…I don’t…”

The whispers of his classmates….the whispers of his teachers…whispering, whispering about his presence in class, whispering about his “half-assed notes,” his “piss-poor class work,” whispering “Spade’s here? A fight’s sure to break out soon…”

“I don’t know how to reach him anymore…”

He bolted the minute the lunch bell rang, the patrolling teachers too used to his routine to even bother trying to stop him from jumping the school’s chain link fence. Some students hollered “Good riddance!” after him as he ran. Some of his fellow delinquents cheered and called out to him as he ran.

“I…I don’t want to give up on my baby…”

The voices all faded, one by one, until the only sound was that of his sneakers hitting the pavement and the surf of the sea that bordered town.

“When did I go wrong?”

Running, running, running…

“How did I…get to this point?”

Running, running until he reached the familiar shore on the edge of town that no one bothered visiting because it was more mangrove roots than an actual beach. Running until his knees hit the sand, face staring up at the clouds above as he shouted, “HOW DID I GET HERE?! WHAT AM I - ?!“

His lungs heaved as he slammed his hands down with a shout, sucking in air, “HOW COULD SHE THINK ITS HER FAULT?! I - I’M THE ONE WHO - WHO’S - !”

His fists clenched around sand, squeezing and squeezing until bits of shell and shards of pebbles dug painfully into his palms, a growl of aggravated frustration tearing from his throat as the tide came in and washed the sand out from under his fists and soaked his clothes.

“I don’t want to give up on my baby…”

The fight in him washed away with the receding tide, his shoulders slumping as he allowed himself one sniffle, sitting back on his heels.

“I’m the one who…I’m the one who’s been screwing around…And…And for what? Cuz sitting around in school was lame? Cuz doing projects and festivals was stupid?”

His fists clenched around the sand again, but it was loose and slipped through his fingers quickly in the ebb and flow of the afternoon high tide.

“I don’t understand any of the shit in class now…”

The ebb and flow of the waves nudged at him like a silent friend listening to all his deepest worries, like it always did. The sea never judged him.

“Ugh!” He scrubbed through his hair in a fit of irritation, but the sight of his bleached hair just made him even more agitated. “How could she think…?! I was the one…! I was the one who got a big head when the seniors showed me how to use my magic in a fight! I was the one who got a big head when they called me cool and showed me how to skip class! I was the one who…! Who…!”

His breath hitched as he remembered the ones who would flinch away from him in fear. The ones who would always shout “Good riddance!” whenever he’d leave to skip class for the day. Of the magicless classmates that’d pale if he so much as breathed in their direction. Of the teachers who gave up on him, one by one, and began instead to name him the culprit for every wrong doing he never did anytime something happened in school.

“I don’t want to give up on my son, mom. Don’t you dare say that about Deuce.”

He’d never picked a fight himself. He was in them all the time, sure, but he never actually started them himself. Sure, he looked down on the magic-less, but he never actually hurt anybody. He would never…he wasn’t that kind of person. He didn’t go around harassing people. He didn’t…

“Maybe I went wrong somewhere. Maybe I should have been there for him more. But I…Sevens, why did I call you? I don’t want to give up on my son, mom. Don’t you dare say that about Deuce.”

He didn’t hurt people on purpose. He wasn’t a malicious person. He only ever wanted to be like the seniors he looked up to. He backed his friends up in fights. But, at some point…those friends…

“Deuce isn’t like that. No, I don’t know how to reach him. But I don’t want to give up on my baby. My baby isn’t like what they say and you know it.”

At some point, it always led to his friends dragging him into the wrong places at the wrong time more often than he was really comfortable with. At some point, it led to him not understanding any of the lectures in class anymore. At some point, it led to all his classmates being scared of him.

At some point, it led to no one believing in him.

“I’m not going to give up on my son.”

No one believed in him anymore. No one except that officer that always seemed to be around to give him an alibi to prove his innocence and the one who refused to give up on him despite it all…

“Mom…?”

She stood, wind-swept and still in her work uniform, in the shadows of where the sidewalk met the beach sand. She smiled, a weary, strained tug of lips that made his eyes sting, that stole any words he might have tried to say.

“I thought I might find you here. You’ve had a long day, yeah? You’ve always come here whenever something was extra bad. Let’s head home. I’ll make your favorites.”

Deuce nodded, swallowing painfully around the lump in his throat as he took her hand. She looked up at him in surprise and it hurt more than he wanted to admit. Her eyes tried to search his, but he was too ashamed to meet her gaze.

She sighed; a soft, fond sound. Just for him.

The drying salt of his pants clung to his legs, a scratchy feeling that grounded him just as much as his soaked socks and sneakers. They walked in silence, hand in hand like they used to, before he began insisting that he was much too grown and much too tough of man to be seen doing such prissy things as doting on his mom.

Before he began bleaching his hair, before he began wearing leopard print jackets, before he began wearing clip-on piercings, before he began wearing eyeliner to make himself look tough and before he ever began skipping classes.

“What…have I been doing with myself this whole time?”

By the time they reached home, their yard was cast in the orange glow of the setting sun and their mailbox was cracked open from the day’s post delivery. The two of them parted ways so that Deuce could unlock the door while his mom retrieved the mail.

A gasp startled him, so much so that he fumbled and dropped the keys, but he had no mind for the keys when he was too busy with what could have possibly shocked his mom like that.

His mom was holding a black envelope with a white wax seal, a stately raven printed right in the middle of it. He’d seen that exact letter before. He’d seen that exact same envelope before, in the hands of seniors past, who’d brought it with them to school to show off to anyone who’d look, to anyone who’d listen.

Boasting that the Night Raven College had reached out to recruit them for their magic.

His mother’s hands trembled as she fumbled to open the letter, her eyes just as wide as his were.

Boasting that entry into Night Raven College, on that Sage’s Island, was by invite only.

The letter in her hands shook so much that Deuce had to wonder if she could even read it properly, let alone process anything that it said.

Boasting of a school for elite mages, that those who were lucky to manifest magic could only ever dream of attending.

The shout of pure joy, the smile that stretched from ear to ear, left no doubt in Deuce that the letter was really meant for him, of all people. Him, the delinquent. Him, the one who wasn’t even sure he could even envision going to high school.

Him, who made his mother cry for him.

As his mom cried again that evening, letter crushed between them as she hugged him close, hugged him so tight that he felt like she was trying to prove to himself that he truly was in her grasp, in her reach…he couldn’t help but think…

This was a new beginning that he desperately needed.

Theres No Other Way To Describe It Other Thanfate. Maybe Its How The Universe Balances Itself, By Binding

There’s no other way to describe it other than “fate”. Maybe it’s how the universe balances itself, by binding such impossible creatures to mortal masters to keep them under control.

Either way, it has always been for the best. Don’t underestimate the world’s matchmaking services!

(under the cut: a long, long scenario of meeting your familiars + some world-building!)

When A Youkai First Meets Their Master, A Rope Magically Pops Into Existence To Show That The Youkai

When a youkai first meets their master, a rope magically pops into existence to show that the youkai is now bound! It seems to be the physical proof of their loyalty, so overwhelming it became tangible. (Love at first sight, more like.)

A fun extra detail is that it’s tradition for a youkai to have their master tie the rope onto them, as a show that their master has accepted them as a familiar!

Another tidbit is that once bound, a youkai is incapable of doing any harm to their master. They also can’t seriously/fatally harm their fellow familiars, but minor injuries are… fair game.

Twisted Wonderland x Kingdom Hearts lore cross over theory?????

Disclaimer: I have not played Kingdom Hearts in like 6 years and don’t have the most extensive knowledge on it outside of the bare bare basics.

With that being said, I had a thought a couple weeks ago, but Kingdom Hearts is a Disney property right and if everything in the Twisted Wonderland universe is based off Disney canon and based off of Disney properties, then that means that Kingdom Hearts is probably canon to Twist. Imagine is Yuu is somehow connected to Sora or is Sora or some shit like that. Becoming a Heartless could be like a stage in overblotting. The keyblades could be like nearly forgotten legendary weapons and it could work because there is a keyblade for every Disney villain. Just imagine if you went to RSA for some reason and you’re talking to their headmage and he sends you on a quest or something and while you’re gone you get your hands on one of the keyblades and you take it back to NRC with you. Lilia and Crowley see you have it and are both like “HOW TF DID YOU GET THAT???” bc they’re like ancient artifacts or something. It could be really cool idea! Somebody that knows more about Kingdom Hearts than me should write a fanfic about it.

INTERRUPTED MAKE-OUT SESSION.octatrio

Synopsis: The octotrio don't really take kindly to having their alone time with you interrupted.

Characters: Azul Ashengrotto, Jade Leech , Floyd Leech x GN! Reader

Tags: Suggestive because oh wow that's a lot of kissing, Azul forms a Crowley hate club, Crewel being an overprotective dad in Jade's part, Floyd annoys you (lovingly)

Word Count: 2k+ | 💌Masterlist

INTERRUPTED MAKE-OUT SESSION.octatrio

A.A | AZUL ASHENGROTTO:

Azul seldom had days off; he was usually dedicated to his office, checking work and finalizing deeds he'd made over the week. Like now, he's busier than ever, especially with the holiday season approaching. You usually would've helped him out if it weren't for Crowley…

The headmaster, ever so generous and kind, was making you run errands for him more than usual. Both of you were so swamped with work that you hadn't seen one other in weeks.

Deciding to take things into their own hands, Jade and Floyd approached you, trying to garner your pity by telling you how 'pathetic' and 'antsy' their boss had gotten during your absence. Floyd amped up the theatrical performance by throwing himself over your shoulder and sobbing crocodile tears over the 'inhumane work conditions' he's been put through. (Azul made him work 10 minutes longer).

To the eel's delight, their terrible acting actually worked and it convinced you to check up on your poor unfortunate little octopus.

You entered Azul's office, carrying a platter of pastries and tea. He was slouched against his chair, reading paperwork in a position that was bound to strain his neck and back.

"Oh, Angelfish?" As you set the tray on a coffee table, Azul stands to greet you. You don't miss how his face lights up when you walk towards him.

"How are you?" You ask, wrapping your arms around his waist while his hands reach up to cup your cheeks. The leather of gloves felt cool against your skin and you sighed happily, closing your eyes.

"Busy, as usual…" Azul muttered and let you guide him to one of the couches in his office. He plopped down onto the chair and groaned in exhaustion, sinking into the velvet plush cushions. "If I have to read another one of those pathetic deals from these Savanaclaw students, I think I'm gonna have a stroke."

Azul's eyes bore into yours, his lips curling into a bitter frown. "It's been nearly a month since we last saw each other…"

"I know. Crowley's been making me work my ass off these days." You smiled apologetically, moving in to press a fleeting kiss against his temple. Azul grumbled, his eyes briefly glancing over the pile of deals atop his desk. There was a mischievous gleam in his eyes as he looked up at you.

"Angelfish. You know I can easily fix that problem for you, no?" Azul spoke lowly, adjusting his gloves with a dark look on his face. Immediately, you shook your head. "No making deals with Crowley."

"Alright, no deals…but say the word and I'll gladly take care of it." Azul muttered, crossing his arms and pushing his glasses up. You chuckled and bent forward to peck his lips in thanks.

However, it seems that Azul missed you more than you thought. You should've known that someone as greedy as Azul wasn't going to be satiated by a small kiss like that. Before you could back away his hand clasped over your waist, pulling you back in. Gasping, you slid into his lap and he immediately fused his lips against yours.

"Stay." He mouths against your lips as both his hands move to grip your waist. Azul kisses you again and again, only giving you a few seconds to recover. Feeling lightheaded, you pulled away trying to catch your breath.

"Azu-" Before you could even get a word out, he kisses you again, this time with more passion. The ferocity of it all causes your head to spin as your hands become entangled in his white hair. It was almost as if he hadn't kissed you in ages, as if it was his first time seeing you in years. His tongue darts across your bottom lip, prompting you to part your lips.

"Knock Knock." Floyd's voice echoed through the closed door, and Azul jolted. He pulled away from you, his gaze moving to the tweels who were most likely standing behind the door.

"Oi Azul, there's some guy out there lookin' for ya. He's calling you 'Mr Ashengrotto'. What a weirdo."

"Floyd. Doesn't saying 'knock knock' defeat the purpose of knocking?" Jade's muffled voice spoke.

"Didn't ask. Don't care."

You watch Azul glare at the door, cursing under his breath, clearly irritated that his private time with you had been disturbed. He considered just directing the client to return another day. However, it seems that you've decided to make that decision for him.

"You heard them." Pulling him up, you fixed the collar to his uniform and combed his hair back into place. Teasingly, you ran your thumb over his lips.

"Don't keep them waiting, Mr Ashengrotto."

J.L | JADE LEECH:

Wiping the table down, you made sure to get every small spec of dust off of the metal surface. It was late at night and you were helping Jade close the lounge up for his shift.

You were concentrated and hard at work, determined to finish the job properly. Jade, on the other hand, found himself marvelling at the unusual sight of you in his dorm's uniform.

Azul had given you an Octavinelle dorm uniform that was tailored and custom-made specifically for you.But of course, nothing ever came for free when it involved the capitalist octopus.

It was intended to be used for promotional purposes. You were Ramshackle's prefect and the magicless human trapped in a mage school, it's no question that you had a lot of attention thrown your way. It was only natural that his boss would exploit such popularity.

Such a stark difference from your normal outfit. You were usually seen wearing the school uniform issued specially for your shabby dorm, paired with the expensive high-end designer fur coat Crewel gifted you.

To put it short, you appeared much more lovely than usual.

So, was it really his fault when he drew you behind the bar and began kissing you silly? Oh darling pearl, of course not.

"Jade-" You gasp against his lips when his weight starts to push on you. Your back collides with one of the stools, leaving you with little choice but to settle down atop the bar counter.

He swiftly hoists you up over the table, allowing you to sit snugly as you wrap your legs around his hips; he does all this without ever pulling his lips away.

“J-Jade we have a job to finish." You panted but Jade had no intention to stop. He steps back to assess your reaction, a sadistic grin spread across his face.

The eel was gentle when he manoeuvred you to lay down against the table, but the look and gleam in his eyes said otherwise.

"Oya, I fear something much more interesting has taken my attention." He nips at your lips, recapturing them with hardly a second to breathe between each one, his hands sliding up your hips to hold you in place.

"How could I not indulge myself when the most exquisite shining pearl is within my grasp?" Jade whispers.

The merman starts pulling his gloves off and loosening his tie. He returned for another open-mouthed kiss. It seemed as though he just couldn't get enough of you. Every breathy kiss he drew from you felt like waves pulling him under, luring him to continue and drown himself in your love again and again.

Sadly, all wonderful things must come to an end.

"Leech. Hands off my pup." You nearly slipped off the counter when you heard a familiar stern voice call out for you. You spun around, gasping, to discover Crewel standing by the door. His face distorted into an unsightly sneer as he peered at Jade.

"Pup. I believe you forgot but we have a shopping appointment today." Embarrassed, you quickly bowed your head and kept your head down. Why. Why on earth couldn't the ground just swallow you whole right now?

All suave and smooth, Jade took a step back and picked you up. Yelping, you held onto his biceps, head spinning from the sudden movement. Jade merely chuckled and lowered you back down onto the ground.

Crewel storms up to you, your fur coat in hand. He drapes the coat over your torso, fussing over your unkempt appearance. The man turns to throw Jade another scathing look, silently cursing the eel under his breath.

Despite your embarrassed and mortified state, Jade crouches down and whispers to you. "I'll get back to you later, my pearl."

F.L | FLOYD LEECH:

Huffing, you stormed out of the classroom with a towering eel hot on your trail. Before you could even round the corner, Floyd threw his arms over your shoulders and leaned his entire body against yours.

"Floyd! Get off! I'm still upset at you after that stunt you performed earlier!" You grumbled, your knees wobbling from trying to withstand his weight.

Floyd doesn't say anything and just slithers his arm around your waist, his teeth affectionately nibbling the exposed flesh of your neck. His annoyingly handsome face was plastered with a smug smile. He knew he was a menace, and he was proud of it.

Professor Trein's lectures were absurdly long, and you can imagine how bored the eel gets during his classes. The issue is that he's decided to turn you into his new source of entertainment. He kept poking you with a pencil, handing you tiny messages on crumpled notebook paper, and kicking you with his foot. The eel had even sneakily placed his hand on your thigh at one point, drawing patterns and words with his fingertips while pretending to listen to the lecture.

You squirmed and tried to shake your way out of his grasp. Your lover snorted at your pitiful escape attempts and tightened his grip on you.

"Neh~ Shrimpy, this hallway isn't my vibe at all. Let's go somewhere else!" Floyd pulls you into an empty classroom, kicking the door shut. He pushed you against a desk, slamming his hands on either side of you.

All of a sudden, his mood changes. The eel leans down to murmur into your ear, his breathy voice sending shivers up and down your spine.

“That class was so boringg. I can't help it that shrimpy's squirming is much more entertaining~” Floyd laughs, nudging his head against your cheek.

That little nudge was all that it took to get you to lower your guard, allowing him to strike and press his lips on yours.

Floyd's hands raked themselves up your back, his thumb rubbing circles onto the nape of your neck. He gave you one final kiss while grinning before stepping back to give you some room to breathe.

“Hm~? I thought you were still mad at me.” Floyd says as you lean in to chase his lips. You clicked your tongue and grabbed his collar, pulling him close to your face. This time, you take the lead and Floyd eagerly follows suit with a giddy smile on his face.

The loving moment between you two lasts for a few minutes before the door to the classroom slams open.

"Floyd! I've been calling your phone for the last hour!" Both Azul and Jade appeared. Azul looked as if he just ran a marathon, his flushed skin having a faint red tint to it. Jade was as composed as ever and stood behind the octoboss, sending you and his brother a knowing look.

“So what?” Floyd blinks, indifferent to Azul's anger. He just truly doesn’t find anything wrong about skipping his job and showering you with some love and affection.

"What do you mean 'so what'!? You promised me you would take the morning shift! We agreed on this!" Azul scolded, banging his fist against the door. But with his face twisted up like he'd just swallowed a lemon, it was hard to take him seriously.

"I don't want to gooo…" Floyd wailed as he sat down with you on the floor. He collapsed on the ground and drew you into his arms, ignoring Azul's shouts. You cuddled against him, sighing, for there was no way out.

This was your fate.

is it okay to request platonic angst of leaving twisted wonderland and saying goodbye to the adeuce duo and Grim? I didn't see if you had a character limit, but if you do, feel free to ignore this or just do it with grim

SUMMARY: The time has come for you to depart from Twisted Wonderland. But surely Ace, Deuce and Grim will hear from you soon, right…?

WARNINGS: This is sad I nearly cried

COMMENTS: oh my GOSH writing angst is hard ahahaha. I seriously teared up writing this. I’m not sure if this is exactly what you wanted, but this is the first thing my mind came up with. Sorry this took so long, and I hope you enjoy it!!

(also, because this made me sad, I wrote a part two that can be found here. I hope you don’t mind!)

Is It Okay To Request Platonic Angst Of Leaving Twisted Wonderland And Saying Goodbye To The Adeuce Duo

“Are you sure this’ll work?” Deuce fretted, wringing his shirt so hard you thought it was going to rip. He’d finally stopped pacing, at least. Moving to face you, his eyes locked on to yours, searching for any hint of doubt.

“Seriously dude, that’s the seventh time you’ve asked that in the past twenty minutes.” Ace complained loudly from his position propped against the wall. “Can you stop acting like a mother hen for five minutes? You’re starting to make me anxious,” he added, muttering under his breath.

The three of you and Grim were standing in the Mirror Hall as you double and triple checked your luggage, which Grim was perched on top of. He’d been strangely quiet ever since Crowley had summoned the both of you to his office.

Crowley had calmly explained that he (in his generosity) had finally found a way for you to return home. Grim had congratulated you and helped you pack, just as the others had, but most times he just remained quiet. You figured this was him trying to be strong for you. The thought brought the sting of tears to your eyes. You hastily blinked them back. Now was not the time.

“It’ll be alright, don’t worry.” You looked up and gave your friends the most reassuring smile you could muster, despite the lump in your throat and the niggling doubts in the back of your mind. “Crowley gave me his word that this’d work.”

Three sets of mouths immediately fell open as Ace, Deuce and Grim stared at you in horror. Your grin widened as you enjoyed the moment, before deciding to put them out of their misery. “Relax you guys. I also checked with Malleus, Lilia, Idia and Ortho. All of them said that there is no reason they could think of that my phone should not still work in my world, as long as I can charge it. And I can.”

A collective sigh of relief flooded the room. Ace walked over and punched you lightly in the arm.

“Not funny, Prefect. That’s Deuce’s last clean shirt and you scared him so bad he almost ripped it in half just now.”

“Ah- hey! This isn’t my last clean shirt!” Deuce protested, rolling his eyes.

“Oh yeah?” Ace retorted. He crossed his arms and stared at Deuce, his eyes narrowing. “That’s weird. If that’s the case then why are there so many random clothes strewn across the floor of our dorm?”

“Those are yours!”

“Enough, guys.” You sighed, tired of their bickering. “This might be the last time we see each other face to face for a while. Do you really wanna spend it bickering about clothes?”

Both boys shared a glance and then sighed.

“You’re right. I’m sorry, Prefect. Sorry, Ace.” Deuce mumbled. He looked away, fidgeting with his jacket sleeve.

“It’s not your fault,” Ace sighed, “I’m the one who started it. My bad, you guys.”

“Ah, how nice to see three - ah, forgive me, two and a half - of my freshmen getting along so well! Surely this must have something to do with my excellent guidance as headmage, hm?” Crowley spoke suddenly, making the four of you jump. None of you had noticed him come in. The sight of him made your hopes soar and your heart sink.

It was time to go.

Ace opened his mouth and grumbled something that made Deuce stand on his foot. You had to repress a slight giggle as Ace glared at Deuce.

“Well then, shall we get cracking?” Crowley strode towards the Dark Mirror, evidently ignoring Ace and Deuce’s exchange.

Sharing a worried glance with your friends, the four of you made your way towards the Dark Mirror. Ace gently scooped Grim into his arms as Deuce grabbed your bag - you’d only needed one - and carried it to the mirror, which had begun to glow.

“If you’d like to say any last goodbyes, now would be the time. My, aren’t I generous for allowing you all a second last goodbye?” Crowley exclaimed as he got to work with the Mirror, which glowed ever brighter by the second.

You turned to face the others and Deuce immediately pulled you into a bone crushing hug. You readily accepted, wrapping your arms around him and giving him a tight squeeze.

“Come on guys, really?” Ace complained. Deuce immediately grabbed him and pulled him into the hug. He - and Grim, still sitting in his arms - didn’t resist.

“It- it’ll be okay.” You managed, hating how nervous you sounded. “Crowley and the others have said they’ll look for a way for me to come and visit. And- and I’ll be looking too, alright? So we’ll probably see each other soon.”

You pulled away from the hug just in time to see Ace and Deuce exchange worried glances. Then, looking back to you, they both nodded in sync.

Just as Grim burst into tears.

Scooping the cat from Ace’s arms you hugged him tight. Forcing hot tears away, you held him as long as you could, but all too soon a hand landed on your shoulder.

“It’s time.” Crowley spoke softly and gently - almost kindly.

“Don’t forget to text us as soon as you get through.” Deuce said. His eyes were red and his voice was full of emotion.

“Yeah, or else we’ll have to come looking for you.” Ace said with a smirk, gesturing to himself, Deuce and Grim, who was still sniffling. You could tell he was trying to be the strong one, as the other two were in tears.

You smiled at him - at all of them.

“Thank you guys. For everything.”

Ace’s smile faltered.

Turning around so you wouldn’t have to see them cry, you picked up your bags and stared at the mirror.

You didn’t want to leave.

Everyone had been so kind to you here. There had been ups and downs, but everything had seemed worth it. You were with people who’d walk to the ends of the land for you, and you would do the same for them.

You felt your resolve breaking. You couldn’t leave, you just couldn’t.

Digging deep for some scrap of resolve, you forced one foot in front of the other.

You didn’t look back.

(Find part 1 here)

YOUR CALL.

“What are you doing here?” Ace asked, suspicious. “Shouldn’t you be in tutoring sessions with Riddle right now?”

Ace and Grim were standing outside of Crowley’s office. He had been wondering why headmage had suddenly wanted to see him and Grim, and now that Deuce had arrived, he was even more confused. He didn’t think he had done anything wrong — at least, nothing worth talking to the principal about. And now Deuce was here too.

Curiouser and curiouser.

“Well, I should be,” Deuce replied, “ but I suddenly got a summons from Crowley. Riddle agreed to postpone the lesson as this is probably a lot more important.”

“Yeah no kidding.” Ace crossed his arms. “Got any idea what we’re here for?”

“Not unless you’ve done something wrong.” Deuce grumbled. “Wouldn’t be the first time.”

“Hey! That was uncalled for. I’ve gotten a lot better lately.” Ace huffed and rolled his eyes.

That was true, Deuce thought. We both have.

In the months you’ve been away, a lot has changed. Deuce had thrown himself into his studies and his track team meets, Ace had started (reluctantly) babysitting Grim and focusing on basketball a lot more and Grim was trying harder than ever to become the best mage he could be.

Yet they never forgot you.

Every day, at least one of them would make the long walk to Ramshackle. They would ensure that the place was neat and tidy and that there were still snacks in the cupboard. After all, you were supposed to be coming back soon, right?

…Right?

No matter how hard they tried to contact you, they never heard anything from you. They never saw you online. You never sent that promised message that you were okay.

None of them wanted to admit it, but they were worried.

“At any rate, we should head inside. It’s just about time.” Deuce said, glancing at his watch.

“Do you guys think this might have something to do with…?” Grim interrupted nervously.

Silence. Ace and Deuce glanced at each other.

“Best not to get our hopes up.” Ace said cheerfully, though neither Deuce nor Grim could miss the strain in his voice. He hastily knocked on the door.

“Come in!” The headmage’s voice called out.

Taking a deep breath, they opened the door.

“Ah, how wonderful it is to see the three of you again!” Crowley exclaimed with a smile. He got up from behind his desk and made his way towards the three of them. “How have your studies been of late?”

“Er, fine, thanks.” Ace replied, awkwardly. He definitely wasn’t expecting that.

“Excellent, excellent! No doubt due in some small part to my excellent guidance, no?” He clapped his hands together. “Ah, my kindness truly knows no bounds!”

“Um, headmage?” Deuce asked, “What is it that you wanted to talk to us about?”

Crowley grinned.

“Ah yes, about that. You see, I am a generous man.” Crowley laced his fingers behind his back and started to pace in front of them. “I care for my students—“

Ace snorted, and Deuce stood on his foot. Crowley shot a glare at the two of them.

“Ahem. As I was saying, I care for my students, and try to make myself aware of their behaviours on campus so that I may reward those who do good deeds and punish those who failed to comply with the rules. Are you following?”

Ace, Deuce and Grim shared a glance.

“Not particularly.” Ace replied.

Crowley groaned. “I am simply trying to express my gratitude for your continuing, and unwavering maintenance of the Ramshackle dorm, and for your continued hope in the magicless Prefect’s return.”

Their hearts sank. Was that all he wanted?

“Of course, such impressive dedication must be rewarded, no?” Crowley nodded, staring at the door to his office behind them.

“We’re getting a reward?” Ace asked, confused,

“Why of course! If you will turn around and look.”

The three of them turned around—

And gasped.

“Hi!” You grinned at the three of them. “I’m so sorry I couldn’t contact you guys sooner, apparently my Wi-Fi is different from your Wi-Fi so the phone didn’t wo—“

Before you could finish your sentence, two pairs of arms had reached out and grabbed you, pulling you into a bone-crushing hug. Wrapping your arms around them, you held your two best friends close.

“I missed you guys so much.”

“We missed you too, Prefect.” Deuce mumbled, giving you an extra squeeze.

“Please don’t leave ever again.” Ace muttered, and Deuce nodded vehemently.

“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on it for at least—“

“Henchman!”

Extracting yourself from the hug, you looked around to see Grim standing in front of you. tears sprung up in your eyes at the sight of him.

“Grim!” You began to make your way towards him, planning to scoop him into a hug.

“Not so fast!” Grim exclaimed. He was clearly very happy to see you, but someone had to maintain appearances. “You’ve got a lot of explaining to do, leaving your master on his own for so long!”

“What do you mean on your own, huh?” Ace retorted. “I’ve had to babysit you this entire time!”

“Yes yes, you’ve been a very good substitute henchman I suppose.” Grim waved Ace’s comments away. “But that does not excuse the fact that my henchman abandoned me!”

Ace scoffed and rolled his eyes.

“I’m sorry, Grim.” You did your best to appear contrite. “I’ll buy some tuna to make up for it?”

“Better be the best tuna Twisted Wonderland has to offer.” Grim crossed his paws, trying to appear angry, but the smile on his face, and the tears in his eyes, gave him away.

You scooped the cat into a tight squeeze. “Of course it will be.”

“Well then,” Grim spoke happily, returning the hug. “I suppose I can reinstate you as my henchman.”

“Job’s all yours” Ace grumbled.

“Ah, such a happy reunion! Aren’t I so generous, spending all that time finding a way for the Prefect to return, hm?”

You grinned. You’d almost missed the headmage’s benevolent speeches.

You sighed happily.

“I’m back.”

YOUR CALL.

Fly With Me!🌹 - Riddle Rosehearts Bloom Birthday x Fem Reader

Fly With Me! - Riddle Rosehearts Bloom Birthday X Fem Reader

❥Summary: It's August 24th! Which means its the adorable red headed dorm leaders birthday today. What will your gift be?

❥Tags: Bloom birthday, riddle rosehearts birthday, riddle roseheart x female reader, riddle roseheart is such a kawaii tsundere, twst x reader, riddle and reader are a couple.

❥Notes: I had to make a riddle x fem reader birthday fic for him, I couldn't resist! Enjoy!!

*Afternoon-Heartslabyul Dorm*

"RIDDDLLEEEEEEEE!" Yelling out his name, you ran towards the birthday venue of Heartslabyul dorm. Riddle had turned around quickly, as widen as he saw you barreling towards him, arms wide open. "Y/N! What are you-oopmh" Riddle's words were cut off as your arms engulfed him in a hug. Riddle remained frozen at the sudden hug, especially with how fast you came at him, it sent his mind spiraling. Once he was able to get his thoughts in order, he arched his head to look at you, eyes a bit strict. "How many times have I told you, no running in the halls. Are you so eager to earn a collar on your neck?" You gave a laugh and slowly loosened the hug, moving your hands to his shoulder. "Hey hey, I was running to give my boyfriend a birthday hug. Unless you didn't like it?" Your eyes turned sad, causing Riddle to panic. "N-no I didn't disapprove of the hug. J-Just warn me next time. I'm not very accustom to it." A smile returned to your face, and you pulled Riddle back into a hug, rocking him a bit, causing him to chuckle. "Okay okay. Oh, by the way, Happy birthday!" You sang it out, earning another chuckle from Riddle. "Thank you!"

Removing yourself from the hug, your eyes scanned Riddles outfit, amazed by the design. "Wow, that looks really good on you. Reminds me of something I saw in a book once." Riddle stepped back a bit, and motion his eyes down to look at his mage robe, before turning back to you with a soft smile. "It was traditionally worn in the past by well known mages. I remember seeing them in history books in Treins class. I recall in the past I wish to wear something like this." Riddle kept smoothing over certain parts of the robe, wanting to make sure it was pristine. Giving a chuckle, you moved closer and fixed the wizard hat on his head, making sure it was straight. "Well you are finally wearing it now, and it really suits you." Riddles face had turned a reddish color, but it wasn't due to anger, he was embarrassed. "S-stop with the teasing remarks please." His eyes continued to gaze down at the floor, clearly shy. "I'm not teasing you Riddle, I meant it." His eyes went back to look at you, observing for any mischief in them, and he found none. Calming down, his face adorned a smile once again, "I see, then I thank you for the compliment." You responded with a nod of your head.

"Ahem, now then, as per Heartslabyul tradition, it is required that a gift be presented to the Queen. Have you prepared your gift for me?" He postured his body like he always did, one hand placed on his hip, lips moved up into his signature smirk. Oh yeah! His Present! Remembering your gift, you left the room for a bit and came back, with a large gift box, covered in red gift wrapping and white ribbons. "Here is your present Riddle. I hope you like it." Placing the box in his hand, Riddle's eyes widen at the massiveness of the gift. He was fine with anything you gave him honestly, he just hoped you didn't waste a lot of money on it, as he knew you weren't given many funds from Crowley. Opening the box, Riddle let out a small gasp at what he saw. Inside the box was a well crafted tea cup set, shaped as strawberries.

The other item inside the box, was a rectangular shaped wrapped gift, it was covered in stickers as well as certain stationary items.

"Um, what is this?" Riddle lifted the object up, eyes filled with curiosity. You let out a chuckle, pointing to the object with your finger. "That is a common trend from my world called "Blind date with a book" where a person takes a random book and covers it up preventing the person who got it to see what it is, making it a surprise for the reader. Basically like a blind date by with a book. Some are done simple, and others are placed with more items. I made this one special for you and I added stickers, bookmarks, and a tea bag for you to enjoy when you read." Riddle listened to your explanation, eyes sparkling with excitement even more. He examined the item closely, admiring how well made it was. He could tell you had put a lot of time and effort into setting this up.

Setting the box down somewhere, Riddle turned back to you, eyes closed, giving you his sweet kind smile. "Thank you for the present, my rose. I can't wait to see what book you have chosen for me to read, and also use that cup set for the next Unbirthday party." Blushing, you looked down, rubbing your neck with your hand. "I hope you liked what I picked. I have only seen you read the school books, so I wasn't sure what your preferred genre was, but I think you will enjoy it." As your eyes turned back towards Riddle, you noticed the large broom that was decorated with a multitude of red flowers behind him, "Oh what is that?" Motioning his head to where you were looking, Riddle walked over and picked up the broom, holding it in front of you. "Oh this is the broomquet that was given to me by Vil-sempai. I had just flown it around the school a little while ago" Walking over, you touch the little flowers on the broom, admiring the soft petals. "As always, Vil has good taste. Sucks that I missed you flying around though."

Riddle's eyes continued to gaze at you, heart aching at your disappointed face. An idea came into his mind, and he gave you a soft smile. "Wanna fly with me?" Surprised at what he said, you stared at Riddle, not expecting him to say that to you. "On the broom? B-both me and you?" Smirking at your reaction, Riddle leaned in closer towards you, "Oya, your cheeks are very red, my rose." Glaring at riddle, you pushed him back a bit, telling him to stop teasing you, earning a small chuckle from him. "Well, do you want to?" Riddle eyes were serious, indicating that he really wanted an answer. You gave him a nod to his question, face still red. Riddle smiled, grabbing your hand with one while holding the broomquet with the other.

*Outside Night Raven College*

The both of you had ventured out of Heartslabyul and exited out of Night Raven College, towards the sports field, where the flight lessons took place. Riddle had positioned the broom, in between his legs, sliding to the front. Once he was settle, he turned around facing you, handing extending out for you to grab. Nervous, you slowly grabbed his hand, as you flung your leg on the other side, positioning yourself the same as Riddle. "If you are frighten, you may wrap your arms around me." The minute Riddle said that, your hands had wrapped around his middle torso, face pushed into his back, excited yet scared at the same time. His body stiffened a bit, but he quickly relaxed, getting comfortable with your arms around him. Hearing him take a breath, you felt his magic swirling around the broom, levitating the both of you off the ground. Pretty soon the both of you were high up, the ground becoming further and further away.

Your head still remained in Riddles back, but you slowly began to peak every once in a while to see. The view was spectacular, the sky was painted a sky blue changing into a peach orange, and the clouds were a mix of yellow and pink. "Wow!" You couldn't look away from the sight, placing your cheek against Riddle. "It truly is a beautiful view." Riddle turned a bit to look at you, kind smile on his face as he turned back to continue flying the broom. "So why did you want to go flying with me so badly?" Tilting your head in curosity, you waited for Riddle to respond to you. He remained silent for a minute, before turning back saying there was no reason for suggesting it. "Come on Riddle. Spill." Hearing him give a sigh, he stopped flying for a second, turning his head to face you. "In my hometown, there is well known ranch that is quite popular. They are known for their amazing looking desserts. Cater was kind enough to bring it to my attention about the new tarts they are selling and I wanted to go and try them." His cheeks were pinkish the more he explained it to you, causing your heart to soar. "You, Riddle Roseheart, want to leave school, fly all the way to your hometown to go eat some amazing desserts, with me? Who are you and what have you done with my Riddle?" You place one of your hands on Riddle's cheek, giving it a little pinch.

A bit annoyed, Riddle moved his head, causing your hands to leave his cheek. "I am still myself. Besides, it is still my birthday, and according to the Queen of Hearts Rules, you can eat whatever you like on your birthday, so I'm not breaking any rules, technically." You laughed at him, ahh he was still your Riddle, rule follower to the max as always. Hugging him closer to you, you place a kiss on his cheek, before setting your head on his shoulder. "Well? What are we waiting for? Lets go!" Riddle turned soft at your little show of affection, giving you a soft smile, before turning back to continue flying. "With pleasure!" The broom started to move again, going up in over in a little loop de loop, then continuing to fly towards your destination.

“Are we there yet—?”

You huff, your footsteps obnoxiously heavy as you walk through the grass. Crickets and ladybugs move out of the way, annoyed by your ungraceful waddling. A moth rests on your companion’s back and you lazily swat it away.

Mira gives you an exasperated look from over his shoulder, his emerald eyes flickering like there’s fire inside them, “It hasn’t even been ten steps since the last time you asked.” he turns his head away ignoring you when you stick your tongue out at him.

You can’t help being tired after trudging behind him barefoot for what feels like hours with absolutely no indication as to where you’re going. Your feet hurt, the damp summer heat of the evening is starting to let up but you’re still hot and sweaty and, now that you think about it, maybe a little bit peckish too.

“Mira…"

He turns his head immediately, worried about how feeble you sound, and regards you with a stare most people would find intimidating.

His eyes are so peculiar. Like green gems that are constantly glowing. His pupils are slitted like a snake’s and you’ve seen them shrink with displeasure and enlarge with curiosity and affection.

… His pupils are always large when he looks at you, even now as he patiently waits for your next complaint.

Hey,hey, hey. *Drops this post from my pocket and stumbles down stairs*

[ R a p t u r e d ]

A Twisted Wonderland Yandere Short Fic.

Summary: Your brother, obsessed with making a name for himself as a huntsman slaughters the beast in the Nostorne Forest, an olden land rumoured to be where the Faefolk reside with their Mother Goddess Gaia and her seven sons. But the rumours are true, and the price for having a fool brother is a heavy one.

Hey,hey, hey. *Drops This Post From My Pocket And Stumbles Down Stairs*

Chapter One: Rage

"When was the last time you had the sun on you?" Idia asked this with a gentle smile curling on his lips. His blue flamed eyes glistening with a fondness too endearing to be let off as friendly.

The cuffs on your hand bit into your skin. Bruised and calloused, you balled your hands into fists yet your lips didn't part open for any of your anger to manifest into words.

Idia frowned. Guilt lingering on his features. The tower you were in was dark with nothing but a single window and a door only magic could make visible. In Idia's mind your refusal to speak to him was from a lack of comfort. Of course, anyone would be as frustrated as you were.

Perhaps,he could help with that.

His hand went up to unlatch the lock on the window and as he pushed the wooden frames back, a simmering sunlight entered the room through streaks of warmness you haven't felt in months. In your dreary state, you almost wanted to swoon from it, but then you caught the smile in Idia's eyes and your anger flared once more. You clenched your jaw and turn away from the window.

Idia's frown returned and this time with a painful jab to his heart.

"What are you doing?" Came another familiar voice you dreaded to hear, and it was from Riddle who had just materialised in front of you, his usual condescending gaze glowering at your cuffed form.

Idia furrowed his brows.

"The sun was out, I thought it'll be good for them."

Riddle scoffed, his high and mighty stance crushing your pride as he strode pass you and towards the window, where he glanced out briefly before slamming it shut. The moment darkness engulfed you once more, the regret of not facing the heat of the morning came to slap you in the face, and your shoulders slumped.

Idia looked to Riddle disapprovingly, but said nothing. Though he did glanced at you with pity. He knew you liked the sun even when you acted like you didn't, and being one of your captors, you weren't sure whether to be disgusted or grateful for his efforts to understand you.

"They're not a plant" Riddle drawled, "And with that scornful look in their eyes, you shouldn't be treating them to something so pleasant, brother."

"Humans need their sun" Idia argued "They'll get sick if you keep them locked up like this"

Riddle cocked one brow, his glowering glare seeping into your very bones when he stared down at you. When he began taking strides towards you,the sound of his boots thudding against the wooden floorboards made you flinch. For such a petite looking male, he walked with a confidence of a king marching with his army.

"Look at them,Idia" He said, softly, as if attempting to coerce his brother onto his side. "Just us standing nearby makes them sick."

When Riddle turned to face him,Idia wore a painful look on his face as if he was pleading for the words to not escape Riddle.

The red haired turned back to you, leaning down to push back the bangs obscuring your eyes from meeting his. The gentle scent of floral emitting from him matched well with the softness of his delicate fingers running through your hair, and yet both greatly contrasted the bitter grey in his gaze.

"You're fortunate I dislike seeing my brother displeased, human." He cooed, mockingly. "I'd have you collared and hung otherwise."

Riddle pulled away swiftly when the flames on Idia's hair flickered lightly, a sign of annoyance.

Mean while, you tried swallowing the immense fear in your throat to make way for the words you've wanted to pour out ever since you were captured. Alas, it seemed as if someone had sewn your own will too tightly.

"You're going too soft on it" Riddle said after going to Idia's side, the slight aggression in his voice earning a scowl from blue haired male.

"Them. Not it. And if you keep treating them like that they'll refuse to eat"

"If it's not eating, it's barely my fault."

"They'll die,Riddle. And I thought we were supposed to keep them well and alive until their brother gets back with his homage."

"Alive." Riddle said firmly, "The well part is only because you like them."

The accusation brought colour to his cheeks and Idia found his tongue betraying him when it refused to utter proper words. Riddle looked to the hunched over form of the unfortunate human they were responsible for looking after and sighed. Bringing up his index finger to rub the side of his temple.

"It's decaying. How could you even stand near it? Let alone find it pleasing to watch over?"

"You don't know." Idia said simply, and though he was frowning, Riddle caught the nostalgic look in his eyes.

Years together, and Riddle still couldn't really figure his brother out. He was closer to Idia than he was with the rest of his brothers, but the way Idia held certain things with such sentiment gave Riddle a headache. To think someone of nobility like his brother would go soft for something as meager as a human...He was going to have tea after this, that would clear his head.

But that was later. Now, he needed to make sure, as Idia had stated multiple times, that their human wouldn't die.

***

The cold water that splashed ontop of your head and trailed down the rest of your body made you shiver and flinch as the wounds on your wrist hissed at the sudden exposure.

The small, encircling, faeries dusted in the pale colour of blue giggled at your reaction, never once stopping to ask you if the water bothered you. Water Fairies... You've only ever heard of them in stories your mother told you before you slept, but now for the past two months, they were the ones keeping your body clean.

Your gaze dropped to your bare feet soaked in the wooden basin you bathed in, and the memories of when you were free brought tears to your eyes. Before you actually realized it, you were crying. Tears uncontrollably slipping through your eyes like rain dripping in-between the creaks of a broken roof. Your body trembled and despite the soreness of your limbs, you hunched over to hug your knees. The water Fairies, continued their job, carelessly oblivious to your sorrows.

You didn't even noticed Idia entering the room until his panicked voice broke through the silence and a pair of his hands gripped your shoulders.

"What happened? Are you hurt?" He sounded worried, hasty even. The water Fairies giggled, splashing the water from your bath playfully as if to greet the young male but when he lifted his gaze towards them, the gold in his eyes flared like fire and within seconds you heard the small cries of pain elicited by the water Fairies before, one by one, Idia's fire engulfed them all.

"They're gone now" He said, cupping your tear stained face clumsily in his hands. "They won't hurt you again. I swear."

He wasn't expecting a 'Thank you' or a grateful smile or even your body welcoming him in an embrace, even if he did craved those things from you, but Idia also didn't expect for your hands to push him away so vigorously. As if by his touch alone he had made you feel disgusted.

His gaze was wide when it met yours,a tinge of hurt lingering in them but when Riddle entered the room then, it vanished and Idia looked away from you.

"What happened here? Why are you on the floor—" Riddle let common sense piece up the scenes together and when it did, the annoyance In his demeanor shifted to anger.

"Get up,Idia. You'll need a change of clothes,Azul is already downstairs, have him help you."

Idia got up without a word and when the door vanished the moment he went through it, dread settled into the room like a plague.

"I don't know how many times I've said it" Riddle started, looming over your bared body still sitting in the basin.

"But you should consider yourself lucky I'm neither Leona or Azul. They would've given you nothing to wear and tossed you out naked."

You didn't dare meet his gaze then but Riddle made you to by placing his thumb underneath your chin and slowly lifting it up.

"I wanted you dead, you know. After all, what your foolish brother did was unforgivable. Mindlessly slaughtering the creature our mother raised on her own as the family's protector..." He jerked your chin back with a flick, his every action a sting of aggression. "I've always felt my own brothers were a handful" Riddle looked you right in the eyes then before he laughed, "But now that I've seen yours,I'm grateful. Very unfortunate for you though"

"Why are keeping me like this?" The words came in a whisper but Riddle caught it and he arched both his brows as if he was impressed you could actually talk.

"You're not an idiot" He said "You heard me perfectly well."

"Yes,I heard you...but why? I don't understand." Slowly, your eyes began to burn with an ignition of life, and for once, Riddle did find it pleasing to look at you.

"What difference does it make if you did? The situation here is very clear. Your brother,an arrogant hunter, thought he'd be doing the world a favour by intruding into my family's ancient lands and arousing the beast that protects it,killing it in the end. I'll admit,it's no small feat, and he does have an ounce of talent in his veins but he's done wrong by us," Riddle's voice shifted into a drawl, gaze darkening, "And perhaps he should've think twice before angering us Faefolk."

"But why am I the captive?" You were almost screaming, your throat coarse and dry it hurt to even utter the words, but it was unfair. Why was it you had to pay for the fault of a man you weren't even related to by blood. With the little energy you had left, you stood on your trembling legs, not caring that your naked body was in full display to the red haired who all but stared at you in bewilderment.

"I'm not to blame. I take no responsibility for the death of your creature. If it's vengeance you want then maybe giving me a sword would suit better."

Riddle's rage glimmered in his eyes.

"You're challenging me?"

"No." You said. "I'm offering to give you the head of the man who dishonoured your family, Fae."

Yikes,I know there's bound to be questions but trust me, chapter 3 will answer most of them. Aha,I'm sorry if this chapter is kinda confusing at first,I'm not good at planning out thoughts or stories systemically,it kinda makes it harder for me to write whenever I try to. But here, the second chapter of Raptured! Thank you for reading! ( ꈍᴗꈍ) ♥️

Yikes,I Know There's Bound To Be Questions But Trust Me, Chapter 3 Will Answer Most Of Them. Aha,I'm

Chapter 2: Banter

In the moment Riddle had finished telling his brothers what conspired with their human captive, the first to speak up was Azul.

"They offered what?" His words were a mix of shock and amusement, gaze fixated on Riddle who seemed almost flustered from how red his cheeks were.

The red haired sighed, sending him a narrow eyed glare before crossing his arms.

"The head of their own brother"

"By their own hands?" Kalim asked aloud, his features scrunched up worryingly. "Isn't that bad? Why would anyone want to kill their own brother so suddenly?"

From the chaise across the room,Leona let out a scoff, lips upturned into a smirk.

"What are you? A five year old? If you give a herbivore the chance of freedom, they'd leave their entire fleet open to make sure they survive. Humans aren't so different."

"Indeed" Vil joined in with a smile of his own. "Humans are very fickle things, they live out their life struggling and as a result they stink of repulsion."

"They can barely even stand on their own.." Idia added thoughtfully and as the gazes of his brothers turned to him, the flames on his hair flickered and he looked away.

"Maybe the isolation's got to their head?"

Riddle let out a scoff, his lips upturned in a sneer almost too vicious to be formed on such a delicate looking face.

"The cottage they were in was secluded from the rest of the village, they were already a reclusive. Why should it bother them now?"

"Maybe Idia has a point" Kalim interjected then "Before they were on their own by choice...and they weren't exactly trapped in a tower either"

"It's all the same" Leona snapped " Damn herbivores will always be too fragile."

"Though, our soft-shelled brothers have a sound reason" Vil's lips curled in an effortless smile, his ever sharp gaze glinting like jewels.

"At this rate our small hare is going to die before the homage from her brother, and that makes all of this pointless."

The room went silent then. Each males having their own thoughts wrapped around the situation.

When they came to a decision to face the hunter who killed their family beast, he was nowhere to be seen and left tending to his cottage was none other than their captive human, a young sibling unaware of what their fool brother had committed. They opted it was easier to simply kidnap them and have their brother come looking since neither one of them wanted to wait around. There was also the fact that the death of the beast had affected their Mother's health greatly, and all seven brothers fumed with rage.

"Our methods doesn't matter anymore" Riddle spoke up, "What's done is done. We can't exactly just put them back where we found them."

"I agree" Azul said "Though if the human dies in our care now, when we're fully able to change their situation, I fear the price of that loss would be great."

"What? Are the humans going to chase us around with pitchforks?" Leona sneered, his sharp fangs visible as he leaned back into the chaste. "You saw how further in their cottage was, chances are the herbivore doesn't even go down to the village often enough for people to notice them missing."

"They can't die." Idia drawled the words out this time, his gaze sharp and harsh as he stared down Leona who all but grinned at his brother.

"Why? Because you like them?" The laugh that barked out from Leona was cruel and Idia flinched.

"Go ahead and save the poor herbivore then,Prince Idia of the lands of burrowed moles. You think they'd ever look at you fondly?"

"Enough." Riddle came between the fight with his own ire and before he sent a glare towards Leona, he let Idia catch the solace in his.

The situation was getting worst. They needed a decision quick.

"You're not a five year old as well,Leona, so keep that tongue of yours tamed"

"What are you? Suddenly playing the role of the Eldest when you can't even reach his height?" Leona scrutinized Riddle with an aggression that seemed ready to claw him in the face, but Riddle kept his own spite and promptly choose to ignore his brother.

Instead,he turned to Azul.

"The hunter should've came back and see his sibling gone, you even sent those eels of yours to make sure he got the hints. Why hasn't he made a single move? It's been two months."

"Maybe he's forgetful?" Kalim chipped in, eyes glowing. Riddle wanted to tap the side of his face and gently tell him to shut up but Vil patted his head instead.

"A forgetful hunter managing to kill a wild beast is unlikely, mein bruder"

Azul crossed his arms,gaze narrowing.

"They've sent word that they have information regarding our human and the whereabouts of their brother"

"And?" Vil prompted.

"I told them to come meet us as soon as they can, which shouldn't be long."

The moment those words were uttered, a dull thud came from the would-be-entrance of the tower, and a familiar voice calling out.

"My Princes! Open the door please!" The urgency of the voice had all the present Princes turning their head, though the one who seemed genuinely surprised and concerned was Kalim.

"That voice..." He said, turning to Azul "Is that who I think it is?"

Azul's lips curled into a knowing smile and with a flick of his fingers, the sound of a door being swung opened then slammed shut could be heard within the tower itself, followed by light rapid footsteps approaching them.

Out of breath and desperately panting, a young girl made a hasty bow as she came before the Princes, though the way her legs slightly trembled suggested that she was near collapsing.

"It is her!" Kalim's eyes grew wide with familiarity, the worry in his voice replaced with joy as he came up to place his hand on the girl's shoulder.

"The last time I saw you, you were still learning how to walk!" Kalim's loud voice seemed to make her flinch but the girl met his gaze with warmth before she bowed her head again.

"Pleasure to meet you again,Prince Kalim." She's heard stories of him, the Prince Fae known to give out bits of his treasures to those who come wishing at his well. It seemed odd to act as if she's known him, but she knew better than to put logic before courtesy. He was one of the seven Princes after all. Acting too smart with them was a fool's mistake.

Before Kalim could say anything else, Azul stepped forward and the girl promptly met his side with a suddenly serious demeanor.

"I'd ask you for the information I had you fetch but I wonder why you were running in the first place?"

The girl laughed dryly if not nervously.

"Floyd wanted to see who could win in a race in getting here, your Highness."

Azul frowned, internally sighing.

"Why on Earth did you agree to that?"

Again, the girl laughed. "He terrifies me,my Prince."

Riddle couldn't place where he's met her, but hearing her words had him internally sympathising her. Azul's leeches were a pair he'd gladly avoid for eternity as well.

"So,you got a changeling to be at your beck and call as well,Azul?" Vil sounded amused as he turned to Azul, but the degrading glance he gave the girl bellied the smile coyly sitting on his lips then.

"She's indebted to us anyway" Azul stated simply "Why not put her to work?"

His gaze returned to the girl.

"What do you have about our human then?"

It took a full ten minutes for the young changeling to inform them of what she's managed to compile on their human and hunter. Turns out they aren't related by blood but by marriage. Apparently most of the villagers knew of the hunter but rarely saw the younger sibling as they took more liking in staying indoors. There was also talk that their relationship with one another was never close and answered Riddle's question as to why he hadn't showed up yet.

"So, he's just going to leave his sibling at our mercy?" Kalim asked,he had his expression scrunched up with worry and pity again but Leona shared none of it and only growled with distaste.

"There won't be mercy if they're left with us a second longer"

Riddle caught the flicker of Idia's flames and instantly reacted.

"Threaten to murder our captive one more time and I'll have your head,Leona."

"Hah, you're trying to scare me,Riddle?" Leona sneered, fangs glistening with malice. He's been irritated by the whole situation since the beginning. Taking in a human in hopes that another would appear to save them, it was all a damn fairytale. Leona knew humans were selfish, his brothers should've had that piece of common sense drilled into their heads as well. No one was going to play hero for their captive.

Riddle gritted his teeth and again instead of lashing out senselessly, he swirled around to face the changeling. Every bit of his anger flaring in his grey gaze.

"Where's the hunter now?" He asked, though it sounded painfully like a death threat.

The changeling bowed her head.

"He's at the human King's palace,Prince Riddle. King Aothor ...of Nostorne"

The words sent the entire room tilting, and Riddle would've gripped her by her neck if Azul hadn't stepped forward.

"King? Since when did the humans have a King?" The last time they came to the world, their mother's shrine was built almost everywhere to acknowledge her ruling. Had times changed so drastically since their absence?

"Yes. It's been this way for years now. A dukedom raised after Her Most Divine's departure from the human realm and ever since then a lineage of human nobles have taken the throne as the Human ruler."

"My, how futuristic, and here we were in the guise that we still sat on the top of their world" Vil was laughing but his words cut into the tension of the room like a blade coated in venom and the changeling girl shifted uncomfortably.

"It seems like the order of the slaughtering was made by him and ultimately fulfilled by the hunter. His name is Cyril and he's being celebrated by the King for his bravery."

Leona heaved a heavy sigh, leaning once more into his chaise. He looked ready to fall into a deep slumber already but his irritation kept him awake.

"So,we have information. Now what's the plan?"

***

Jade and Floyd, two of Azul's trusted companions came into the situation while the Princes were sorting out their thoughts and opinions (Which all greatly contradict one another) and brought word that their hunter had refused to save their sibling in a conversation Jade overheard him had with another hunter right before he was called on by the King.

"He said he knew of the Fae's trick and that by taking something of theirs as his own, he'd gladly give anything they took from him as compensation." Jade explained in his usual matter-of-fact tone, his mismatched gaze still and knowing.

Riddle clicked his tongue, brows furrowing. Idia's was the most sympathetic along with Kalim while Leona and Vil seemed ready to send a fleet of their army to storm into the human villages.

"I'm not really surprised though" Floyd spoke up lazily "He seems like a guy who'd do that kind of thing anyways"

"But now the Princes are stuck with keeping a human captive in their care", Boe,the young changeling from earlier, pointed out grimly.

"What if we sent you to negotiate with him in our stead?" Idia suggested which earned a rather hasty look from the girl.

"Human royals don't take too kindly to my kind,Prince Idia. I doubt he'd even let me enter"

Leona let out a menacing growl. One that reverberated through the tower walls.

"This is going nowhere. Riddle, go up to that damn herbivore and have them beg their brother come and pay his homage so we can give them back."

Riddle frowned.

"You heard the changeling,Leona. If their relationship with their brother is as bad as we've heard, do you really think they'd beg for him to come save them?"

"Couldn't you talk some sense in them?" Azul had eyes turning once more to the young changeling who all but reluctantly slumped her shoulders.

"I don't see how me being the one talking will get them to cooperate..."

"Clamshell, you should at least try, right?" Floyd's smile was sickly sweet and when he attempted to sling his arm over her shoulders, she avoided the outcome by shifting close to Jade.

"What would you want me to say to them?"

"The offer they gave" Riddle said "Have them elaborate more on that. I'm not going into a deal without knowing why it was proposed in the first place."

There was hesitation in her eyes but it was swiftly changed to a silent resolve as she nodded her head.

"I'll see what I can do."

Staring out the window you watched the dark sky clear up as it slowly stopped raining. It had been a few days since you properly went outside somewhere and to be frank, you were almost sure that your legs were noodles by now. The warm rays of the upcoming sun shined gently against your soft cheeks, inviting you to step outside of your home even if it was just for a few moments. Sighing, you got up from your bed and popped your elbows and smiled in content at the satisfying feeling. Without any true plans you grabbed your smal bag and put on your sneakers, ready to start the day off fresh.

These past few months have been rough for pretty much everyone you knew and they were all forced to stay cooped up inside of their homes. Boredom was your prime time enemy at first but you were blessed to discover a game known as Twisted Wonderland, which pretty much became your saving grace during these turbulent times. You knew all of the characters names, every single plot detail and played the game on a daily basis - you were hooked, and you had no shame in admitting so. Even as you walked down the quiet street you couldn’t help but to chuckle at yourself. The game was pretty much perfect in your eyes and you couldn’t help but to wonder how you would act around the main cast. You had your set of favorite characters and you enjoyed all of their little quirks and gimmicks. You often lost track at just how often you daydreamed about the characters and all the little scenarios you made up in your head. A small smile graced your lips as you closed your eyes and just enjoyed this small moment of happiness as the chilly breeze continued to blow in to your hair. But, being so preoccupied in your fantasies you accidentally tripped against something and in seconds your face came in to contact with the stone pavement, the pain kicking in almost instantly. Letting out a whine you clutched your bruised nose with your right hand and with a slightly blurry vision you tried too look at what made you trip so hard. To your surprise it was just a cat! Without thinking you reached out to see if the cat was alright until it jumped back and landed on its back legs…

…and the moment you saw its face you nearly started to shout your lungs out.

No way, no friggin way! This cat looked just like him, just like Grimm! Same colours, same strange blue flames, everything was just where it should be! All of the little details looked so immaculate that you couldn’t help but to wonder just how hard you must have hit your head. Was there perhaps another Twisted Wonderland fan in your area that you didn’t know about? Surely that must be it! Whoever this person was, they sure had a good eye when it came to detail! Even the flames looked realistic-

“HEY! HOW LONG DO YOU PLAN TO KEEP ON GAWKING AT ME LIKE THAT!?!”

Mouth agape you stared at the growling Grimm as he kept on snarling at you, his anger and annoyance clearly evident. Stepping back you still said nothing as he continued to talk to you, but you just couldn’t respond to any of his questions. Well, demands really. A string of “Who are you?!”’s and “Where am I?!” all fell on deaf ears. You were going crazy, you were sure of it… Were… were you unconscious? Were you in some sort of coma?! You continued to reason with yourself until you felt a paw on your leg, Grimm’s face much closer to yours now.

“What’s wrong with you? You are not in a coma, you’re wide awake! Now tell the great Grimm where he is this instant!”

Felling the warm sensation of his paw  on your knee brought you back down to Earth but you couldn’t help but to blush a bit to yourself. You were saying all of those things out loud, without even knowing too… How embarrassing! After a few moments of silence you were finally able to find your voice and speak again.

“Are….are you Grimm? Or am I just seeing things…” you asked in a hushed tone. You were stiff entirely but you’d be lying if you didn’t say that a strange sense of wonder wasn’t filling your gut. Your eyes gleamed with curiosity as you waitied with bated breath, your heart thumping so quickly that you could have sworn that it was going to leap out of your chest at any second. Even if you were just hallucinating you could at least make the most of it… Grimm however did not find your bewildered expression amusing what so ever. The two of you continued to bicker like that on the sidewalk as the occasional stranger passed by, giving you strange looks as you talked with Grimm. You had so many things to ask him and yet you could hardly form any words - your brain felt like it was just being shut down from the feeling of raw excitement that coarsed through your veins. With a blink of an eye an hour passed and Grimm had lost his patience. Without a word, he ran off in to the other side of a sidewalk towards a large oak tree. The tree itself must have been at least thousands of years old in order to be so grandiose. Oddly enough though, you couldn’t recall that tree ever being there in the first place…

Looking down the hole, Grimm whimpered and whined loudly as he quickly ran back towards you, but he quickly turned his back to you.

“Hngggg, I hate heights, I hate them! Human, go and see just how deep that hole is will you? I’ll take a look around and see if anyone is staring at us… No one makes fun of the great Grimm without getting hurt in the process!”

Silently smiling to yourself, you decided to listen to him and you quickly walked over to the tree, admiring its beauty as you did so. Placing your hand against it, the texture felt rough against your soft fingers as you took a small peak inside of it. You were greeted with a pit of pure darkness but for some strange reason you could feel some sort of wind coming from deeper beneath you. Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind hit you right across the face which caught you off guard, nearly causing you to lose your balance. Stepping back slightly, you turned around but you saw no one else, well asides from Grimm. Feeling slightly paranoid, you were able to find a somewhat large pebble nearby and you decided to throw it in the pit. Once it hit the ground, you would be able to hear it, right?

…but no sound could be heard, other than the howling wind. Gulping, a light sheen of sweat formed on your forehead as you strained your ears in hopes of hearing something, anything! Somewhere behind you, you could hear Grimm mumbling to himself as he approached you in a rush, the annoyance in his voice clearly evident. Being so lost in his thoughts however would soon to be the cause of his downfall, literally.

Tripping on a large branch of the oak tree, Grimm suddenly fell in to the pit of darkness but his claw found your arm along the day! You tried to hold on but your efforts proved to be fruitless as your hand slipped, causing you to plummet along with Grimm. Pure and utter terror filled your gut as you let out a horrified scream, its echoes all coming back to you. You continued to fall and fall and for a moment, you were sure that you were going to perish. Grimm was of no help either as he too succumbed to his own fears. Your left hand held his tiny paw lightly, but somewhere along the fall you felt something press against your right hand, its long fingers entwining with your own. Tears streamed down your face as you heard a gentle voice whisper something in your ear:

“For me, for them, for you. We are all running out of time. No matter what never let go of my hand.”

Without thinking, you chose to obey the strange command as you fell deeper, and deeper and deeper… until finally, you heard faint voices coming from the distance.

You can’t say no to him.

You don’t think you’d ever be able to deny Mira anything, really. Not when he looks at you like a kicked puppy… a tall, imposing kicked puppy with weird horns on his head who could probably cremate you alive without breaking a sweat.

“Of course I would stay with you! Do you even have to ask?” You reach out to touch his face. His skin always feels so cold under your fingers, but the fire in his eyes burns brighter than ever, as if the intensity of his flames depends solely on the intensity of your affection for him.

“I love you, Mira.”

Your heart flutters at your own words and for a second you don’t even know if you mean that as a friend or as a lover. But, well, you’re only sixteen years old. You have a lifetime to figure it out.

You think Mira stops breathing, but it’s hard to tell because the rise and fall of his chest is usually pretty much imperceptible anyway.

“I… I love you too.”

Idk If Anyone Still Remembers This But I Actually Forgot I Finished Chapter 3 About A Week Ago And Didn't

Chapter Three

The walls encasing your freedom began to simmer your frustration, and when a spiral staircase immerged from the wooden floorboards right across the room, your hands reflexively balled into fists.

Though when an unfamiliar face greeted you, they uncurled and from where you sat on the chaise beside your only window, your figure hunched over to pull your knees closer to your body. You'd been reacting so defensively lately, it almost felt natural now.

"Did they send you up to finally get rid of me?" Your words were harsh, a deep grating rage lacing each enunciation you spat out and yet the girl seemed unfazed as her lips curled into a small smile.

"I don't think they're that merciful, but Prince Leona has stated multiple times he'd rather you be dead."

"Who are you then?"

"An ally" She answered then rather hastily added, "If you'd allow it."

You scoffed, bitter and dry you almost sounded gruff and nasally.

"Like I allowed to be imprisoned and kept like an animal?"

The girl's expression softened and she gave what seemed to be an understanding nod before she placed both hands behind her back and stood poised before you.

"Boe" She said, "My name is Boe. As in the kind you'd use to hunt with but with an 'E' at the end because my nan felt it was creative." She sounded pleasant, to be honest, she looked decent as well, like a very familiar face you'd seen somewhere and yet nowhere at the same time. She wore her hair in two loose twin braids, her simple beige coloured tunic and short khakis gave her overall soft, feminine looks a rather boyish touch. And when she smiled it was genuinely given.

Despite yourself, Boe's appearance had you feeling a little less hostile and perhaps even a bit more hopeful.

"I made them an offer" You told her and again she nodded her head.

"To kill your brother in exchange for your freedom. Why?"

"Isn't that what they wanted? That bastard killed their beast and the only reason I'm here is because he's traded me off for his glory."

Boe seemed surprised at how you caught onto the situation at hand but you could see how calculative her eyes were. She may have looked pleasant but you weren't foolish enough to trust her, and if she knew your captives then chances are she wasn't just some typical servant running errands. They sent her up to you to talk, which meant they trusted her. And they didn't look like the trusting type.

"He and I aren't related by blood" You told her, scornfully. "It doesn't take much to piece up my being here, and I'll tell you now that he's not coming to save me. Not when he has every village folk singing his glory and the King welcoming him in his halls."

You sounded so dejected, Boe practically felt the heat of rage circulating through the room, but she also sensed sorrow. A sort of grief from the way you hunched yourself over. You've been through a lot, she could see that much.

"Tell me, did you ever believe the story your land has? It's history with the Faefolk and magic?"

You knew little. Simply enough to have your mind wander, but every child was like that, and when it was time to face the world and grow up, the stories you used to cling to before sleeping became just that; Stories.

So, you told Boe you didn't. You told her you knew the land has always been lavish, that it had always been easy to farm and make produce because it's forests were endless and green. It was because it was placed right in the centre of a growing land, wasn't it? Magic felt too foreign to have been a part of it all.

But then she told you of the story of a man planting a seed given to him by a generous Fae, and that the seed grew into a tree and another and another, until it formed a forest so lush and rich with life, people came to the land as a place of salvation. She told you that the Fae was the Mother Goddess Gaia and that she had made a pact with the humans who stayed in her grounds. They were allowed to grow and live as they wanted as long as her generosity was remembered. Thus the human built shrine after shrine in her name, and the land never once withered. Until weeks after your brother slayed the beast.

You sat there facing her, baffled and refused to believe in such a tale so easily, told yourself that no such thing could be possible...

Yet, the tower that kept you had nothing but a single window and a door that only seemed to appear when called. You remember how you tried climbing down through the window and how your makeshift rope snapped and you thought you'd fall to your death but instead you stayed in the air. Frozen.

As your hardened gaze looked to Boe and the faint light of the sun peeked through the window and into the room, you noticed the slight point of her ears and how in that specific lighting her features looked ethereal,as if she was carved out from a completely different mold.

You've seen those features before. A long, long time ago. The brief memory tucked behind the grains of your mind.

You must've laughed because Boe's expression shifted into confusion, and you ran your hands through your hair as a slight colour flickered to life in your eyes.

"You must think I've gone crazy. Wanting to kill my own brother but I've never seen him as family, and I'm sure he feels the same. It's the only thing we have in common."

"You'd really kill him for your freedom?" Boe asked, almost quietly.

You lifted your gaze, heavy and dark but driven with determination.

"Wouldn't you? It sounds selfish and maybe it is but hasn't he done the same to me? Ever since mother died, I was left under his care which meant he'd been shackled to me against his will and now I'm here and he's drinking in the castle." Your voice shifted, breathless and worn. You wanted to stand, to show to her that you weren't as weak as your captives had force you to be. That you meant what you said.

"I don't care about being kind and understanding anymore. I want to be released. I want to take back what I've lost and if that means killing Cyril and appeasing your Princes, so be it."

"You could be their Champion" Boe said as she stared you up and down, her gaze flickering with something you couldn't quite put a finger on. But she smiled when her eyes landed on your face, and a slight shade of pink dusted your cheeks. Though you felt it was because she had been nothing but open in her discussion and all you ever did was scowl and kept your distance.

And perhaps, you couldn't really be blamed for any of it given your own situation, but maybe it wasn't too harmful to act a bit more cooperative...

"A champion?" You repeated the words with your brows furrowed and lips down-curled.

Boe nodded her head.

"Faes often keep champions in order to settle certain affairs, like a representative or a tribute on their part without having to physically attend said affairs themselves, and unlike most dealings, this one has the exceptional perk of not being entirely enslaved by the Fae you serve under"

"...You mean if I agreed to being their... Champion? I wouldn't owe them anything?"

You know the tales of giving your thanks to the Gentry, and how such unfortunate humans fell to the mercy of the cunning creatures. A slight shiver ran up the length of your arm, but you fought the urge to look disgruntled, and simply crossed your arms.

Boe's smile widened a fraction.

"Yes, and I can't tell you why such a thing is possible in the first place, not because I don't want to but because I also do not know the reason behind it. It's said that this pact Faes have created with humans is a rare thing and a ritual they hold with great respect. If you so desire to kill your brother and gain your freedom, being the Princes' Champion is perhaps the best and only way."

"But how can I trust them to hold onto their end of the bargain? I might not have full belief in all your fae nonsense, but I know that whatever you are, your kind are known to be cunning and slippery!"

You felt like jabbing an accusing finger to her chest then, but you bit back the venom on your tongue and swallowed your carousing temper from erupting. Anger did no good in discussions after all. You learned that from years living with your step brother.

Despite it all however,Boe didn't seem to mind your frustration or hostility. In fact, she remained informative and calm, you began understanding why she had been sent up in the first place.

Unlike the Princes themselves, Boe didn't have any intimidation oozing from her demeanor. She came as a neutral party, neither to nurse nor make you submit.

Perhaps her words were the most trustworthy you'd have here.

Perhaps being a Champion was your only way out.
