I don't think fics that use maya as a plot device are inherently bad & I have enjoyed many that do just this
though even if I didn't enjoy any of those fics I'd still accept them cuz I got no reason not to lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
but I do agree it'd be way cooler to see people fully explore maya's character and friendship with others such as phoenix & miles
though personally I also want more media of miles and maya being friends and enjoying steel samurai together hanging out ECT.
and also them both bullying phoenix for calling a ladder a step ladder because he deserves it :P
honestly just more maya fics would be good
