Deuce Spade x G/N Reader - Masquerade Ball
As the bells chimed loudly from the bell towers of Noble Bell College, Deuce found himself staring at the Soleil River from the bridge. It was a pleasant night, all seemed quiet as he watched couples float along the river in their boats and occasionally kiss one another underneath the star-lit sky, ah yes, here it seemed that romance was always in the air- and the scent of freshly baked croissants but no matter.
The faint sounds of music played as he continued to stare at the water, thinking about you- he could not shake you from his mind, he loved you too much to even dare not think of you. You were his everything and being in this city just made him crave you more. Deuce never knew he could hold such feelings towards someone, he supposed it was normal and all because of the television programs and because of late night movies his mum would watch but be never expected himself to feel so- his heart did so many flips it about sent him mad.
The images of you in that gorgeous masquerade costume made his cheeks flush and his ears flare red, of all the people to send him into such a state it had to be you- of course it had to be you. The rare gemstone from another world no less, oh such a precious gemstone you are to him. With the Masquerade ball fast approaching he had to win you over, but how? Surely it would be hard to impress you? His grades as of recent certainly have not so what good would a dance do?
“In all those fairytales and stories from our history there are tales of handsome princes finding a pretty princess and dancing with them at a ball… I’m no prince but… maybe I can learn?” Deuce mumbled to himself, staring at his reflection in the water as the sun set slowly on the horizon.
“I thought I heard someone here, it appears to be you, Deuce.” Came a soft voice, it was Silver of Diasomnia dorm- the very young man that Cater compared to a prince, what luck!
“S-Silver! I’m sorry… I was just thinking out here- don’t worry!” Deuce stuttered.
“You seemed quite lost in thought, something about impressing someone? Did you by chance meet a fair maiden in town today?” He asked with his soft princely smile. “My old man has taught me a thing or two on how to be an ideal prince- I may not be one myself but these skills may help you.”
“Your dad taught you all that? Why?”
“He said one day it may win me a fair maiden of my own, one I’ve met once upon a dream but now is not about me, but about you. Tell me, who is it?”
“Well… it’s actually (Y/N)…” Deuce blushed as he brushed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
“(Y/N) you say? Well, personally I suppose you should just be yourself- but, if you truly wish to impress them I will more than happily teach you some of what my father taught me.”
“Y-yeah! Please do! If you teach me what I gotta do then I will surely pass, right….?”
Silver smiled and nodded softly, his princely smile never fading for a second.
“Well, one thing I learned is that you must harmonize with them if they begin singing, if they lead in song you must surely follow. Take their hand and lead them into a dance.”
Deuce took out his phone, typing all Silver said into the notepad feature, not wanting to miss a single step.
“Secondly, though this may not be possible, a prince should ride in on a white horse- no exceptions. Not sure where you would find a horse on such short notice but… anyway, another thing my father taught me was if they were dreaming of true love’s kiss you must find a way to make it so.”
“K-KISS?! Mate, I don’t think we have gotten THAT far! How do you even kiss?! F-forget it! Kissing is gross…” Deuce sputtered, face turning cherry red as he buried his face in his hands, earning a small, rare laugh from Silver.
“In the Briar Valley, the kiss of true love is extremely important, it’s something many of us look forward to- even dream of, nothing to find disgusting. Even as a child I dreamt of having a fair princess awaken me from a long sleep…”
“D-dude… that’s-” Deuce was officially at a loss of words for his upperclassman, surely a soul so pure should not be enrolled at Night Raven.
“Lovely? Yes, it would be, living happily ever after in our cottage in the woods.”
“I was gonna say a little too fairytale but to each his own I guess, anyway, Silver, any other tips?”
“My father said that an ideal prince must have shimmering white teeth- perhaps it was just for that era but I suppose that would fall under looking your best.” He smiled softly with a small shrug, Deuce nodded and typed that into his phone- wanting to have any form of valuable information, no matter how silly it sounded, every little bit helped in the end.
“Alright... now for the hard part- how do you dance? I’ve never danced with anyone before so I dunno...”
Silver looked at him in surprise, he was under the impression that someone as handsome as Deuce would have scored a dance with someone. “You never danced with anyone before? Very well, I can help you, it is not difficult- my animal friends have used laundry to mimic a person for me to dance with- the bunnies used my father’s shoes and the birds used his cape- it was actually quite fun.”
Deuce only stared at the silver-haired lad, there was no way a person like him could be Night Raven College material- he was too- pure and “princely”- definitely unlike the rest of his peers.
“Silver, forgive me for asking this but who exactly are you...?”
“Hm? I’m not sure I follow, Spade, but lets get to dancing shall we? Come, take my hand and I will teach you.”
_________
Deuce danced for hours with Silver’s guidance, he looked almost princely himself as he waltzed across the stone path in as much grace and beauty as his senior. Silver was an excellent tutor, teaching him how to dance even to the his smooth humming, humming an old Briar Valley tune once sung by a certain prince and princess and sung to him as a lullaby.
“Deuce, your dancing is wonderful, you certainly will amaze (Y/N) with your skills, you learned to dance quite quick- I’m truly impressed.”
“If only I could learn my lessons in school this quick...”
“If you apply yourself hard enough and truly believe in yourself you can pull through, you have determination and a strong will, now, be the fairytale prince for (Y/N) has met once upon a dream.”
“Yeah! I will!”

The Lucky Batch ☘️
Cold Lullabies
With the information that Raffle delivered, Kenlha wanted to hear their side of the story. However, she struggled to muster the gut to do so, knowing the pain they must feel.
Every day, Kenlha misses Morast, wishing that she’d never been their padawan. Maybe the Clawdite would still be alive if Kenlha was dumped with another master, someone like Kit Fisto or Ki-Adi Mundi, the latter being a sociopath. Mundi was better than Mace Windu, the prick.
She has an idea how they feel. Though instead of losing one, they’ve lost many. Not only their batchmates but prior mother-figure, Master Bastet.
Master Fisto, Master Koon and Master Kenobi believed that she was best for this squad, they trusted her to care for them. In order to do that, she needed to know as much as possible.
Not only that, but share as well. They’ll be fully open to each other, no secrets between them. That’ll build trust and maybe make them almost competent.
The twins, however, are crafty bastards.
Foxy would direct the conversation in one of his many attempts to flirt. Thumbs would egg him on while Ballast laughed.
Pepper, being the only medic, could say that he was busy with one of his idiot brothers. Given how often this lot gets injured, she can’t argue that he’s was a busy guy.
It was a waiting game. She’d have to ambush one of them, get them comfortable with her.
This togruta space witch is even craftier than these twins.
While trying to mentor Brisk and Luna, she’d wait.
Eventually, Kenlha’s time came, just not how she wanted it to.
On one of the missions, Pepper was hurt, the fool more focused on protecting Foxy. He got an infection from the wound, even contracting a virus. Foxy was adamant that they not go back to Kamino, leaving them to follow Pepper’s fevered orders.
It inspired her to start practicing medicine, only for her to realise how complicated it was.
With perseverance and a visit from a clone named Kix, Peps was on his way to getting back on his feet.
Since he couldn’t run away, Kenlha would take advantage of the only moment she had.
“Looking better by the day,” Kenlha complimented, sitting next to Pepper’s bed. “You’ll be giving out stickers any day, buddy.”
“Goose will be thrilled,” the medic continued, wondering how high it’s body count was now. “Ryder needs a new Nexu sticker. Then I can make the hot Cheetos dipped in mashed potatoes scratch and sniff for him.”
It was sweet to see the new Ryder bring such a gift to Pepper, he adored it.
“Is it alright if I ask you something?”
“You can always confide with me, Ken. Doctor patient confidentiality ensures your secrets are safe with me.”
He was a soft boi, a good brother to her and an excellent doctor. When she looked into those mismatched eyes and his soft smile, it was easy to forget what he’d endured. What both twins went through together.
“I’d like to know about before me and before Master Bastet. I’m a Jedi, I can sense your instinctive caution around me, even though you don’t show it. As your General, your sister, I want to be there for you as you are for me.”
Perhaps it was the fever, maybe it was exhaustion, but he gave somewhat of a summary of what transpired with Master Laverna. She could feel the trauma, especially regarding the force-choke.
He had to hold his neck, recalling the events as though he was re-living them again.
Raffle forgot to mention that the Jedi’s death was an accident, but in her opinion, he deserved it. While she’s biased, being their sister, she can’t stand people mistreating the clones.
Being so close with the twins, she’s disgusted by that dead Cathar.
“I… sometimes I don’t think Foxy should’ve gotten involved,” the medic sighed, like a weight was lifted from his chest.
Understandably, Kenlha was surprised, though she wouldn’t voice it. He was sharing with her, she can’t ruin this. She can understand him more, and by doing that, she can be a better sister.
“He had a padawan, a girl, possible 11 or so, named Teles. I cut off her leg, but didn’t cut high enough, and she died, likely septic shock. I held her hand as that light fell away. Nothing he could’ve done to me would compare to feeling her going limp and cold.”
He felt responsible for her. He did everything he could and she still died. It’s a pain that Kenlha empathised with more than she wished she did. Her eyes burned as salty water seeped through her ducts, dribbling down her yellow skin.
“I often feel that I killed my master, Morast Tane. They were strict, but they were better to me than anyone before. They tried to guide my energy onto something productive and constructive, kind of like a parent to me,” Kenlha started, recalling the events herself.
“It was on a hot planet called Nevarro, magma and volcanic ash littering the ground. While fighting an army of droids, some damned flyers shot from above, causing the ground to become unstable.
I didn’t think. I jumped into the air, slicing through those bastards. One that I bisected fell, crashing into that unstable ground and causing Master Morast to fall. I tried to pull them up, but they fell into the lava.
The only word they could muster was Run before the cries started. Being outmatched, outgunned, we had to leave. There wasn’t even anything to bury them,” Kenlha sighed, the sensation of something clawing at her throat adding to the tears. “I know the pain of being responsible, even when others tell you it wasn’t your fault.”
The medic absorbed her tale, allowing her a few moments to recollect herself. The togruta held his hand, supporting herself and him in the emotional moment.
There were days she wished it was her instead of Master Morast.
“Do you remember the Endeavour, that ship that crashed down, killing two-thousand troopers?” Pepper started, his voice trembling. “I… could’ve stopped that from happening.”
She waited, feeling his grip tighten around hers.
“At Geonosis, while Foxy, Mozzarella, Springer and Locke were fighting droids, I and a few others were sent back to look for surviving Jedi. Instead, I found someone with my face, only far younger.
I knew who he was, everybody did. The Maker’s chosen child, the payment for his involvement in making us. The one that he named Boba, raising as his own.
If I’d just taken him in or hell, even shot him, then all of those clones would still be alive. Master Windu and Master Skywalker wouldn’t have been hurt. Instead of that, I let him go, lying to my fellows that I didn’t find anybody.”
“While the Endeavour was a tragedy, I think you did the right thing. They were only a child, weren’t they? Even by Mandalorian standards, he was a kid, right?”
“Master Bastet said something similar. And she’s dead too. I tend to have bad luck regarding Jedi.”
He was afraid to get close to her in case she died. It’s an understandable fear, she was terrified of ever having a master again.
Kenlha was scared to even be a Master, worried that she’d never live up to Morast with her young girls. Brisk and Luna were outliers too, so she had an advantage there, but still.
There are days where she wondered if Morast would’ve been better for them.
“I won’t promise that I’m not gonna die. We all die eventually, many earlier than they should. What I will promise, Peps, is that I’ll be here for every day that it gets hard. During the days it feels like there can’t be a tomorrow, I’ll be right here to listen. All of us, even Goose.”
“Foxy’ll need an ear, too. He’s an idiot, but he’s my idiot.”
“He was adamant that we steer clear from Kamino. Would I be pushing it if I asked why?”
She watched those green and brown eyes ponder, thinking over her question. As with before, he chose to share.
“Foxy and I aren’t just twins. There’re loads of twins, Echo and Fives from the 501st for example. We, however, are literal twins. Our clump of cells split and we grew attached at the shoulder,” he explained, motioning to his tattooed shoulder. “The Kaminoans, having not seen it often, experimented on us to prevent it from happening again. Our earliest memories have made us dislike them, especially the one named Nala Se.”
It made sense and she could agree with it.
“Then to ensure that we don’t go, I think I’ll have to learn some doctor lessons from you. I’ll be your, um, what’s that dumb thing Jackal says?”
“P-to-the-wan?”
“Yep, I’ll be your medic padawan,” she smiled, earning one from him as well. It was a beautiful thing, given his experiences. “Have a sleep, pal. We’ll give you a few minutes of peace.”
“There’s tape in Boots’ room,” he chuckled. She smirked, knowing that it would be for Ballast. “It… was good talking with you, Ken.”
“You too, Doctor Bro.”
Kenlha will talk with Foxy as well. She’ll talk with all of her siblings, assuring them that she’s there for ‘em. Not just her clones but her padawans, too.
She wasn’t going to lie, it felt good talking to Peppy about her feelings as well.
Feelings aren’t accepted in the Jedi Order, so he made her feel valid. It was something she desperately needed from someone, and she was happy it was from Peps.
This is a good family she’s found.
Love you guys!

the air in the apartment is mostly silent, save for the gentle scratch of lead on paper and the muted pattering of rain against the windows in your home office.
jungkook’s teeth play with his bottom lip as he fidgets in his seat, intently observing you from the opposite end of the table.
across from him, your brows knit together in an attempt to focus, lips pursed in concentration as you stop for a moment, then resume moving your pencil across the page.
he cringes at the disruption of his phone vibrating on the table, abruptly snapping you out of your daze.
as your pencil slips out of your grasp, you sit up straight and flex your fingers around in the air to release some of the tension residing in your joints.
jungkook murmurs an apology but you brush it off, glancing wearily at him and providing a small smile. a sigh of relief escapes you as he leans in, taking your hand in his and gently massaging your tired fingers with a few strokes of his own.
“that feels good,” you mumble, shifting closer to the table for more of his touch.
he hums softly, taking another few moments to work his fingers into your skin, creating a small pocket of silence.
"are you bored?" you ask, feeling a twinge of guilt for leaving him essentially alone at the table. "i'm sorry, baby, i'll be finished in just a few more minutes."
jungkook shrugs in response, casual as he moves his arm to gently rub up and down your own. his touch is comforting and helps ease your anxiety, preventing you from spiraling further.
“it's okay,” he reassures you with a gentle smile, “just take your time. i'll be here.”
his eyes shift from your face to your hand, a frown forming as he notices the red mark on your finger, evidence of how tightly you've been holding your pencil.
you watch, endeared, as he leans down to kiss the spot, then replaces his lips with his finger, gently rubbing over the indentation to soothe the redness.
"you work so hard," he says, tutting his tongue as he continues running his thumb over the spot.
you can only manage a sigh in response, feeling drained and unable to speak. plus, tears are starting to form in your eyes, and you’re desperately trying to hold them back. jungkook notices, of course he does.his expression turns into one of concern as he studies your face, trying to assess the situation.
your mouth is set in a deep frown, almost a scowl, and your eyebrows are furrowed in discomfort from holding back your true emotions. you refuse to meet his gaze, afraid that your carefully constructed facade will crumble if you do. and it seems like that's exactly what is happening - the walls you've built around yourself are slowly falling apart.
in a rush, he rises from his chair and rounds the table, your eyes following him through tears.
once next to you, his fingers weave through your hair, leading your head to rest on his stomach. he wraps his arm around you and massages the tension from your shoulders as you nestle into the soft fabric of his t-shirt, taking in the familiar scent of his laundry detergent.
“time for a break?” he muses, watching as you adamantly shake your head in response.
“i just need to finish,” you reply, trying to stifle the lump in your throat.
he watches as you draw your laptop closer while blinking rapidly to chase away any tears.
you’ve always been one to persevere, which he greatly respects. but it also irritates him that at times, you don’t allow yourself to fully feel.
jungkook suppresses a groan as he watches you type something else into your search engine, briefly tilting his head up to the ceiling in frustration and closing his eyes to take a deep breath.
it can be hard, to watch those you love push themselves beyond their limit. he understands, knowing that he often puts you through the same thing.
you and him share an achilles heel of refusing to give up easily, which is both a blessing and a curse.
the sound of your fingers tapping on the keyboard snaps him out of his trance and he reopens his eyes, sneaking another glance over your shoulder.
he’s about to drop it altogether when he sees your bottom lip quiver, his breath hitching in his throat when the first tear makes it over your lash line.
“baby,” he utters softly, nearly tripping over the leg of the chair he pulls out from the table to sit beside you.
you can’t help but let out a throaty chuckle at his clumsiness, swiping the single tear from your cheek and trying to wave him off.
“i’m okay,” you sniffle, but jungkook just shakes his head in disbelief. he leans forward, balancing on his knees as he takes your fidgeting hands in his own, running his fingers gently along your knuckles.
“seriously, jungkook, i’m fine. stop making it bigger than it is,” you attempt to push him away, but he refuses to budge.
“stop making it smaller than it is!” he counters, voice raising slightly as his anger takes over.
he takes a breath, continuing in a softer voice.“baby, i’m not gonna stop until you let me in.”
his brows furrow in frustration, wide eyes pleading with you.
in the heat of the moment, you hate how intrusive he’s being. you hate that he sees you as his responsibility and that your struggles are ruining his day.
“jungkook, if i’m just a burden-“
“a burden?” he interrupts in disbelief, “you could never be a burden,” he reaches for your hand when you try to get up. “hey, all i ever want to do is help you, because i love you,” he stresses.
his words instantly calm your mounting emotions, preventing you from any more self sabotage.
“i love you,” he says again, “and i cannot sit here and watch you ruin yourself.”
you simply blink at him, the last of your resolve shattering when he starts to soothingly caress your arm with his warm palm.
even when you’re so difficult, he’s so unbelievably kind to you.
“please let yourself not be okay,” he begs, eyebrows pulling together, pained, as he watches you stifle a sob. “it’s so hard to watch you be so strong all the time,” he says, “please don’t shut me out.”
and just like that, your wall comes tumbling down.
jungkook’s emotions bubbling to the surface seem to be the final push for you to tip over the edge. tears now stream down your face, features crumbling as you weakly lift yourself from your chair.
jungkook’s arms reach out to pull you into him, intercepting your body as you launch yourself onto his lap. his lips press repeatedly to the side of your head as he wraps his arms around your stuttering back, squeezing you to him.
“let go, baby,” he says, feeling tears well up in his own eyes as you collapse in his arms, “just let go.”
broken sobs wrack your frame as you cling onto him, one of his hands securely holding the back of your head while the other runs up and down your spine.
the dam has finally broken, and its cathartic for both of you.
soothing words are spoken softly into your ear as your breaths begin to even out, your face finding solace in the crook of his neck.
after a few minutes, your cries quiet and the pool of tears starts to dry on his skin.
jungkook leans back to glance over your face, reaching up to swipe at the leftover tear trails on your cheeks with his thumb.
“feel a little lighter in here?” he inquires, dancing his fingers over your scalp as you lift your reddened eyes to lock with his.
“a little,” you sniff, leaning into his touch as he starts massaging the crown of your head.
“hm, good,” he murmurs, “we’re making progress then.”
wordlessly, you stare into his big brown irises, the whites of his eyes showing evidence of his own tears. despite this, his mouth quirks in a small smile, and the guilt from ten minutes ago consumes you.
“fuck, i’m so sorry,” your frown deepens, closing your eyes when his lips press to your temple, remaining against your heated skin. “i’m so sorry for lashing out at you, i’m just,” you sigh, “i’m just overwhelmed and,” you glance up in thought, “in my own head.”
“i understand, baby,” he soothes, warm eyes finding yours to show he’s being genuine. “it’s all gonna work out, i promise.”
you inhale and sit up straighter, cupping his cheeks as you position your face in front of his. you stare at each other for a moment before he cups your jaw, adoringly squishing your cheeks with his fingers.
jungkook laughs as you pucker your lips, sliding his hands down to rest under your jaw when you tilt your head to the side, pressing your mouth to his.
with each pass of his lips over yours, you feel the ache in your head lessen. your heart reaches out for him and squeezes him closer to you.
he hums as you pull back and immediately go in for more, taking turns capturing your bottom and top lip between his. you grip on tighter to him to momentarily stop the world from spinning around you.
breaking apart for air, jungkook giggles as you unattractively sniff with your full nose, your fingers absentmindedly playing with his hair.
“sexy, huh?” you raise a brow, and jungkook’s features warm when the sparkle returns to your eye.
“duh,” he rolls his eyes, and there’s a beat of comfortable silence as you both recover from your breakdown.
“i love you so much,” you murmur, “thank you for everything you do.”
“yah, kiss-ass,” he teases, his high-pitched laugh escaping his mouth when you pinch his side as punishment for his snark.
“ugh, nevermind,” you sigh as you stand up, and he smiles at you in return, holding onto your hand to help you back over into your chair.
“i love you more,” he sings, chortling as you squint your eyes at him in response.
you redirect your gaze back to your notebook, still looking tired but not as weary as you did before.
jungkook lifts himself to reassume his position from earlier and stands behind you, dropping his arms around your neck. you tilt your neck as he plants a kiss onto the top of your head.
sensing your reluctance to go back to work, he leans down further, his cheek pressing against yours. the gesture seems to melt you back into your chair as the both of you stare ahead at your laptop screen.
“okay,” he starts, understanding your process, “how about some tea to get you through this last part?”
he waits patiently as you think it over. his eyes travel from the screen to your features, staring at your lashes touching your cheek each time you blink.
there’s a hint of water clinging to your bottom lashes, and the sight makes his heart squeeze in his chest.
“yeah, actually,” you answer softly, gently craning your neck so that you can press your lips to his, kissing him one, two, three, four times.
“you’re the best boyfriend ever,” you whisper against his lips, some of the tension in your body already subsiding.
his cheeks go pink with your praise, dark eyes catching the dining room light as he puffs air out of his nostrils.
wordlessly, you let your head hang off the back of the chair, closing your eyes when jungkook’s hand comes to support the back of your head, dipping down to kiss you again.
his fingers rub soothing circles into your neck, causing an involuntary noise to rise up from your throat.
you break apart with a “tch,” noise, pouting when he pulls his arms from around you.
“nooo,” you try to grip onto his fingers, jungkook chuckling as he pokes your bottom lip back into place.
meeting your lips one last time, it takes everything in him to step away from you, pointing at your dimmed laptop screen.
“i’ll be right back,” he soothes, “and i promise i’ll sit here with you the whole time.”
you smile despite yourself, because jungkook is simply the light of your life.
“you better. you’re my emotional support human.”
I love when you talk nurturing to me.

Jungkook hated his boots.
Well, not all the time. Most of the time, Jungkook loved his boots.
But right at this moment, he hated how heavy they were, weighing him down further than his already sore muscles as he trudged up the stairs to your numbered doorway.

Ermmm quick question… HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL AF BLOG?? Like pls share and help me out bc my blog is BARE and empty and looks nasty af, I wanna make my pinned posts and moodboards and just pfp and theme look pretayyy ☹️☹️
Awe thank youuu!!! >.< I think bc I’m such a minimalist in rl it’s easier for me to pick and choose. But here’s a tutorial that’ll hopefully help :33
NOTE! I do everything on my iphone (writing, editing, decorating my page etc just in case ur wondering if I do all this on a laptop/computer,,,I don’t :p)
ʚ The way I work is I’ll choose 3 main colours; a light colour, an in-between shade and then a dark colour. Mine for example : light colour: white, in-between shade: grey, dark colour: dark grey. It’s up to you whether you want ur dark or light colour to be ur main colour but I’d keep ur in-between shade as an in-between. (Think of ur in-between shade as a gradient, helping to blend ur light colour with ur dark colour)
AND CHOOSE COLOURS THAT WORK TOGETHER! Even when picking pictures like for example ur navigation or pinned page make sure the pics have the same three colour combo you used through ur whole blog even if its minuscule it’ll make a huge difference I promise u (so like I’d personally look out for white, grey and black accent pics for my blog on Pinterest) :
ʚ Even with moodboards I still work with the same mindset! :
SET YOUR THEME! Once you’ve figured out your colours and where they’ll go, set your blog’s theme from the editing page!!! (hint : I’d use your mid/gradient/in-between shade as your accent but it honestly depends on what ur after) :
ʚ What really helps is when you have a pic theme and what I mean by that is maybe use ur fav character from somewhere (like mines megumi from jjk) or maybe it’s a sanrio character like my melody. (I grab my pics from this Pinterest board if that helps which I also use for my moodboards)
Example :
⤷ I also found it helped my aesthetic when I added links into my bio to help find my carrd and navigation (here’s the link for the tut) it helps fill out ur bio especially if ur not sure what to put there :) — I know earlier I said I do everything on my phone but I’m not entirely sure if this is able to be done on a phone (android or iphone) so I’d use a laptop with this part if you can :))
Miscellaneous things you can add!
ʚ You can also customise ur ask page title (like mine is : send me a love letter ︎♡)
ʚ Keep ur writing post themes consistent — this helps readers actually remember ur work while also tying ur blog together.
For example, I always use this draft for my writing :
ʚ Fonts really help! I personally use the app : keyboard + + for free fonts (u just have to watch a few adds to unlock them)
ʚ I find it important to make sure whatever picture you add to your blog has a transparent background — not everyone has the same colour palette (like mine is permanently on Dark Mode while others will have theirs on Gothic) :
(I use Picsart for this)
ʚ Tags make a difference on your posts too! A separate tag index can also help ur followers know where to find certain posts for easy scrolling or maybe posts they want to avoid (like smut) :
ʚ For my pfp I chose a bright main colour like yellow to stand out against the dark grey of my blog and I usually leave this as the last step in my “blog decoration” just because I find it easier once all the main construction is done and then I can see what colour(s) I need to add back to tie my blog together.
ʚ I also like to hide my pfp/avatar from my bio bc it looks a bit too much and too big for me personally and it can sometimes clash with the colours you already have going on, I like a minuscule pfp but again that’s just preference :
Anywhoooo I think that’s it! Hopefully this helped and if you (or anyone else) have anymore questions or if you want me to personally help you with decorating your blog pls pls pls message me and I’ll be happy to help! ,,,Mwah! <3

“tender is the night, lying by your side. tender is the touch of someone that you love too much. tender is my heart, i’m screwing up my life. lord, i need to find someone who can heal my mind.”
luffy’s first impression of [name] was that he was strong. he looked up to him, he wanted to be as cool as him and as capable as him. how many times [name] had saved luffy’s ass when they were children was uncountable. and all those memories live so vividly in the captain’s head.
and when he made [name] promise that he’d find him in the grand line - made him swear that he’d join his crew and not anyone else’s, it was all so serious. the most serious luffy had ever been in the face of [name].
because to luffy, there would be no reason sailing out to sea if [name] wasn’t by his side. it sounds childish, especially if luffy were to ever verbally say that, but overtime he had realized that it was another genuine sentiment. there was no way luffy could become the pirate king without [name] by his side.
"luffy, stop running over the mud, you’re gonna fall on your face!” [name] worriedly called out from the treehouse, seeing the rubber boy play in their yard. it had just recently rained and all the soil that was surrounding their treehouse was still sludgy.
of course, luffy wanted to play in the mud like the child he was. [name] wasn’t going to stop him, but he could at least warn the younger one of injury.
"come play with me, [name]! let’s make mud pies!”
“no! you’re just gonna get hungry and actually eat them! gross!”
“i won’t- i am hungry though!”
[name] didn’t reply, only leaning over the wooden railing of the treehouse and watching as luffy got himself all mucked up and dirty. somehow, his straw hat stayed clean the entire time. he sighed, fiddling with his own piece of shanks, the cloth on his wrist before smiling gently.
just as he was about to turn around and get some naps in, luffy’s shrill voice started screaming, “[name]! [name]! save me!!! save me!”
he whipped his head around in an instant, eyes widening when he saw that luffy was caught in a mud slide.
"i can't breathe!!"
his voice was getting farther away and [name] jumped out of the treehouse without hesitation.
“luffy! luffy!” he shouted desperately, grunting when his ankle got caught in the mud and he was being dragged into the disgusting substance as well. he jerked his body upwards, wanting to at least see where luffy could’ve possibly been.
and then he saw it — his tiny palm waving frantically around in the air. [name] grit his teeth, twisting his body every which way to break out of the sticky grasp the environment had on him.
"[name]-” the boy’s scream was cut off and the sound of coughing began to fill his ears.
”luffy!” he grabbed a vine that was on the side of a tree and ripped it off, unlocking a newfound strength in himself to save luffy. he threw it right into luffy’s palms and tugged as hard as he could.
he dug his heels into the ground, his jaw clenched as he put all of his strength in pulling luffy out. and when he finally did, the first thing he did was wrap his arms around the boy’s torso.
"can you breathe?! are you okay?!” he frantically asked, patting the boy’s back in case anything was lodged in his chest - hindering his breathing. but luffy just collapsed into his arms and began wailing.
“i thought i was going to die, [name]! thank you!!”
[name] protectively wrapped luffy up in his arms, hugging him as tight as possible as he tried to reassure himself that luffy was alright. and he steadied his breathing, allowing luffy to cry into his arms for however long he wanted.
“you stupid idiot, don’t ever play in mud again!” he scolded luffy, pushing away the black locks of hair out of luffy’s face. he grimaced when he felt how dirty his hair felt, reminding himself to bathe with luffy to ensure all the grime was washed out.
and despite luffy’s face almost being completely covered in mud, he still flashed that bright smile, “you saved me, [name]! thank you!”
[name] blinked a couple of times before laughing, “of course i’d save you! i’ll always be there! just scream like the little baby you are and i’ll come running!”
luffy frowned, hands balling into [name]’s mud ridden shirt, “i’m not a baby!”
“yeah, you are,” [name] corrected, “but it’s alright, i’ll take care of you no matter what! so you get the excuse of acting like a baby! but! only for a little while longer, you gotta start maturing soon, luffy!”
“don’t wanna, that sounds boring!”
“captain’s can’t be immature, y’know! i don’t want an immature captain!”
“i’m mature, the maturest captain out there!”
[name] laughed as loud as possible, finding luffy’s eagerness to please and obliviousness more heartfelt than anything he’s ever seen before.
and as [name] was sitting in the crow’s nest, watching luffy run around the deck whining for adventure, he realized how lucky he got that his captain was still an adventurous, reckless, and immature as he was. he fears that if luffy had lost any of those traits, he’d make for a boring captain.
as if knowing that [name] was watching from above, luffy looked up and grinned happily to see that his e/c eyes were looking at him. in a second, he stretched himself up to where [name] was and crashed into his chest.
“don’t you want to go on more adventures, [name]?” luffy asked, rubbing their cheeks against one another. the grin on his face could be felt along [name]’s skin. his rubbery, but soft, skin was already making [name] crack into a smile of his own.
“yes, i want to go on more adventures, but we need to find an island for that to be an option,” [name] reasoned logically, making luffy’s smile turn into a frown.
“but i wanna go now! can’t you take us to an island?!”
“it doesn’t work like that, luffy!”
“it so does, you liar!”
“you’re right it does, i was lying!” [name] grinned, laughing as luffy began play fighting with him. “but aren’t you on an adventure right now?”
luffy paused, stilling in his fake attacks as he mulled over the question. then his signature grin came back onto his face, “i guess i am!”
“what makes you say that?”
“if you’re here, i’m on the best adventure!” luffy sincerely, and unapologetically, shouted.
[name] was shocked at first before his expression melted into a loving stare, “i feel the same way,”
“good! it’d be wrong if you didn’t!”
luffy calmed down from when he was running around on the deck. he still had [name] wrapped up in his arms, but the man wasn’t fighting against his embrace. so he only tightened it further.
“i’m really, really, really, really, really happy you’re here, [name].”
luffy’s statement came out of nowhere, but [name] didn’t bother showing his surprise. he simply let luffy continue on.
“i don’t ever want to be seperated from you again,” luffy said, out of nowhere his voice was now trembling, “you’d leave and leave and leave and then i never knew when you’d be back — if you’d even come back! and i don’t want that ever again…don’t ever leave me again!”
[name] frowned, fists clenching at his sides as he heard luffy’s shaky voice.
“and then you left for three years and there was no way i could talk to you, you and ace left me by myself! but you promised me we’d find each other, so i knew you’d come back! and now that you’re back, you can’t ever leave again,” luffy tightened his hold on [name], nuzzling his now cold nose into his neck. it had turned cold due to the sudden rush of tears that were clouding his vision.
“no! no! don’t take him away! don’t take [name] away!” luffy shouted, fighting against the uniformed men. his fists were pathetically pounding into their legs, his cries filling the night air.
“[name]! don’t go! please, don’t go!!"
for [name], those cries that came from luffy lived in his mind on repeat. whenever he’d have to leave, against his will, luffy would wail and cry until he was too far that he wasn’t able to hear him. he’d never make luffy suffer like that again, he’d sworn it to himself.
he was supposed to be the one protecting him, not causing him pain. no more suffering would come to luffy, if [name] could help it. he’d never have to cry for him again.
“i won’t let you leave, i won’t let anyone take you away — never again!” luffy said stubbornly, his teeth grazing the flesh of [name]’s shoulder.
the captain never got sentimental like this — nearly coming to tears for apparently no reason. but, it was not a secret that he had an unseen side to himself when it came to [name].
it was a side that no one else on the crew had really witnessed for themselves (yet). a side of vulnerability that only [name] was capable of bringing out. it was like the way [name] could command luffy stop stealing food off of other people’s plates and the captain would listen (for a solid 5 minutes, then he’d have to cave in and steal more food for his stomach).
“i won’t leave, luffy.” [name] said in a determined tone, “no one is going to take me away. i belong here with you, so don’t worry about anyone coming for me.”
“if anyone tries taking you away, i’ll kill them. i’ll send them flying that they’ll never try coming back, ever again!” luffy shouted once more. a deep pit of anger lived in him, a secret that he kept hidden for the most part.
it was a sense of guilt, probably, that fueled it so wildly. the guilt of not being able to do anything when he was a child. so he feels the need to overcompensate now that he has become stronger. if [name]’s position in their crew was ever threatened, someone tried taking him away, luffy would have had years upon years of pent up anger to release.
no one really knew how angry he was. only himself. it was the type of anger he would showcase when one of his crewmates, his nakama, was threatened on a personal level. when he saw nami crying for help against arlong was the one instance he can remember the clearest.
but the thing is, if anything like that ever happened to [name], he doesn’t think he’d be able to control himself. if [name] was ever pushed to the point of begging and crying for help, luffy doesn’t know how sane he could act.
just thinking of how frail [name] was whenever he’d be taken away when they were younger made him feel blood thirsty.
and it was an odd feeling. he almost never feels this way. never so violent. but when it comes to [name], everything is a free for all in luffy’s mind.
ever since he was a child [name] has been nothing but kind, a protector for luffy. and the captain would rather die than fail in protecting the one person who was always there for him.
“ace, quit being so mean to luffy!” [name]’s voice shouted, scolding the freckled man. he ran over to the younger one’s side immediately, collecting him in his arms and creating a physical barrier around luffy and ace.
“you baby him too much! how is he supposed to get stronger-”
“he’s just a kid!!!” [name] would shout, as if the three year age gap between himself and luffy amounted to decades. “don’t be so mean to him, don’t hit him anymore! i won’t allow it!”
“there’s no way he’ll survive in the real world if you keep this up!”
[name] grit his teeth, standing up and socking ace right in the face, “you can’t decide that!!”
“i’m being realistic!”
“you’re bullying him, enough!” [name] spat out, once again gathering luffy into his arms, “i won’t allow you to hurt him any more! don’t ever think about laying your hands on luffy again!!”
luffy hid his face in [name]’s torso, a feeling blossoming in his chest. he didn’t know the name for it and in the coming years, it seems he’d never learn how to properly state this feeling.
but he did know that whenever [name] was nearby, luffy was protected. he felt protected. [name] was, as he is for so many people, a protector. natural instincts make him a self-sacrificial person. if taking a bullet in the place of someone else meant they’d live, he’d jump in front of the gun in an instant.
it was a trait of [name]’s that luffy genuinely hated. not how protective [name] was, but how involved he was in making judgement calls without regards to his own health.
that self-sacrificial mindset that made [name] think more irrationally than he’d ever notice. luffy hated that.
only tiny instances has ever been seen by luffy when they were growing up. taking scoldings and beatings from garp in order to save luffy the pain, shadowing luffy’s body with his own if there was a sudden danger directed towards him, things along those lines that would leave [name] with some injuries or scars.
but to think that this attitude of [name]’s could lead to more serious injuries, or even death, was what made luffy uncomfortable. made him want to punch a hole in the wall. it really, really infuriated him.
because in his eyes, [name]’s life was something more important than anything else. he didn’t understand how [name] could be so careless with something so important to luffy.
the idea that one day, someone may be in a life threatening situation, and [name] would take their place makes luffy’s heart start beating at impossible speeds and his breathing quicken. his mind would get cloudy in dark thoughts. and then he’d have to snap himself out of it to remind himself that he was day dreaming and nothing of those sorts was going to happen any time soon.
he’d make sure of it, as captain he was determined to.
”is he going to be okay, dadan?” luffy sniffled, tiny hands curled into fists as he stared at [name]’s bandaged form.
recklessly, [name] had jumped in front of an animal attacking luffy and took the attack for himself instead. it was a tiger slashing out to draw blood from luffy. [name] had caught the sight from the corner of his eye and ran as fast as he could, hoping to god he had made it in time.
and when he looked down and saw luffy unscratched, he weakly smiled in victory. three slashes were bearing into his skin and making him bleed profusely, but to see luffy unharmed in front of him was enough for him to pass out without a worry in his mind.
imagine luffy’s fear as he had to carry [name] on his back, on his own, not knowing if the ragged breathing coming down on his ears would suddenly stop. the fear and dread he’d feel if he took him all the way back to dadan and it was already determined to be “too late” to save [name].
and the way it would have all been his fault.
now, in reality, the damage wasn’t as bad as luffy had thought it out to be. but he was still only a child. the fact he had seen that much blood was enoug reason for why he thought [name] was really going to die. it was a relatively valid fear.
“he’s going to be alright, this brother of yours is the toughest one of the whole pack of you rabbid animals,” dadan grunted, taking her seat across from luffy by [name]’s side.
“not my brother,” luffy grumpily corrected, tired of people getting the wrong idea. how many times has he had to tell people [name] wasn’t his brother. to luffy he was so much more than that.
as rude as it sounded to his two other brothers, [name] was so much more than a simple title of “brother.”
“apologies,” dadan sarcastically said, “but really, he’s going to be fine luffy, he’ll be better if you just leave him alone, though.”
she stood up, going to walk out of the room and held the door open for luffy. she waited for him to join her side, but he was glued to being by [name]. seeing his resolve in staying by [name], she gently closed the door behind her.
luffy already promised himself he wouldn’t move until [name] opened his eyes.
he wouldn’t sleep until [name] opened his eyes. he wouldn’t eat until [name] drank water — since luffy knew that would be the first thing the boy would need when waking up.
he wouldn’t allow himself the luxury of things [name] was missing out on. especially when it was luffy’s fault he was in this state in the first place.
in the crow’s nest of merry, [name] could only rub up and down luffy’s arm in hopes of calming him down. he felt guilty for being the reason of luffy’s tears, but realized that there was nothing he could have done to prevent them.
the two were too familiar with why he was crying in the first place. they knew that combatting it before the tears would start was useless. luffy had broken down to [name] many times before, especially when they were younger. it would end in sleepless nights and sweet nothings being echoed in the air for luffy’s ears and luffy’s ears only.
and the best way to take care of it was to let it happen. whispered nothings weren't really effective to luffy. he didn’t want to be fed empty promises, he could tell when things couldn’t be guaranteed. but, he thinks, if [name] is the one saying them he wouldn't mind at least hearing them. that didn’t necessarily mean he was listening though.
there was something else he would never pass up on hearing over and over and over again from [name]. it was four simple words. it could be false hope being put into luffy’s head, but he’d believe it for as long as he could.
“i’m not going anywhere,” [name] whispered into luffy’s arms, twisting his body around so now he was properly hugging luffy as well. before luffy had simply suffocated him in his arms, chest to back. but now that they were in a proper embrace, luffy could really hide himself in [name]’s arms.
it was like they were in the treehouse again. in their own world.
“i’m not going anywhere,” [name] repeated more slowly, raking his hands through luffy’s hair and gripping him tight. to emphasize the fact that this was a promise that he’d try his best in keeping.
to luffy, [name] was not a brother.
“i won’t let you,” luffy said in a stubborn voice, the syllables shaking as they left his lips. “you belong here, only here! you belong with me!”
[name] weakly laughed at luffy’s childish exclamation, nodding his head to ease his worries.
luffy never really got to vent these emotions out, so when did they come to surface, they were almost like a tsunami. they’d drown him in saying things he might’ve not even understood, but felt right to say.
and he’d blabber on about things he might not understand because he knew keeping them suppressed wasn't an option.
luffy didn’t know how to talk about the emotions he felt regarding [name], not in a way that would do them justice at least. he didn’t know how to articulate how protective he felt of [name], so instead as a compromise he’d attach himself to him whenever he could.
if someone tried sweeping [name] off of his feet, he wouldn’t know how to tell other people [name] was only his, so instead he’d yell about how annoying that person was to him and [name].
he didn’t know how to properly say how much he loved [name] so he’d boil it down to thinking [name] was heaven on earth.
[name] smiled gently when he felt luffy bury his head into his neck, tears pouring out of his eyes. he wondered what spurred luffy into being so open at the moment, but he wasn’t going to ask. it wasn’t appropriate and it didn’t matter.
he didn’t care why luffy was suddenly so worried on him no longer being there, he’d only focus on assuring him that he really wasn’t going anywhere. because someone would have to pry his cold, dead hands off of luffy if they wanted to separate the two. there’s no way he’d ever leave luffy again, especially after hearing his worries so vividly spoken now.
sure, luffy would say things relatively similar things to this when they were young. but there was always a sense of uncertainty in [name] when he would comfort luffy back then. he wasn’t sure if he was really going to be able to stay with him. the circumstances were so confusing back then.
but now it’s a clear picture. he knows that there is no way anyone could come between the two. after being pulled apart so sporadically in their youth and then being separated for three years due to [name] setting sail earlier, there was no room for argument in this matter.
[name] and luffy wouldn’t ever be separated for long ever again. [name] would do everything in his power to ensure that didn’t happen. anything to keep luffy happy. anything to keep luffy safe and protected.
“will you always leave like this when we are older, [name]?” luffy innocently asked one night. the two were awake due to the younger one having vivid nightmares regarding [name].
a nightmare that was reoccuring nowadays. [name] would be taken away and then he’d never come back, leaving his status unknown to luffy. and he’d wake up screaming and crying and [name] would be at his side in an instant.
”i’m working on it, lu, i really am,” [name] consoled him, holding him as they bathed in the moonlight. “i hate being away from you too, but there’s nothing we can do abuot it — for now.”
“i’ll get stronger and then i’ll beat all those stupid guys up!” luffy said in pure determination, his eyebrows furrowed together in anger and frustration, “i’ll fight them next time,”
[name] chuckled, shaking his head, “don’t fight them. just promise to me you’ll always be waiting for me when i leave and i’ll always, always come back,”
luffy blinked owlishly before settling on that compromise. he wiggled his pinky finger in the air, right in front of [name]’s face, “i’ll promise to always be here waiting if you promise to always come back,”
[name] paused, thinking of he really should make empty promises. but then he shook his head, refusing to think so negatively and in a pessimistic way when luffy’s smile was bringing nothing but optimism to their conversation.
so he interlocked their pinkies together, shaking slightly as he nodded, “i promise.”
[name] was tender.
in his earliest memories of [name], luffy has known him to only be tender. the tender care [name] would show him, the love that was delivered to him so tenderly. the touch that would ghost over his skin, not because he was scared of holding him, but so he wouldn’t startle him.
no matter what, [name] would always be tender to luffy.

When you met Taehyung on the first day of nursery school, he had refused to let you play in the sand pit. And then, when you tried to join him, he had pushed you away. This resulted in you throwing sand in his face, which further resulted in lot of tears, and kicking, and shouting, and the teachers had to come and break apart your fight, cooing, “Now, now. That’s no way to behave. Say sorry, and hug it out.”

MASTERLIST
Pairing: Lee Seokmin x Reader
Warnings: none, hurt comfort
Word count: 1.6k
Summary: Seokmin is like the sun, but eventually even the sun has to give way to the stillness of night.
A/N: I am pretty much just reposting my old fics while I work on something new lol. so obv this is also posted on my marvel account (@capwogers).
Sometimes, the sadness hits you slowly and silently. The clouds crawl their way across the sky until they’ve hidden the sun, replacing the blue sky with gray clouds. Small waves lap at the shore until one day you look up, face to face with tsunami tides. You’re happy until you’re not, with no idea how long the rain will last.
That was how you found yourself in the passenger’s seat of Seokmin’s car, wrapped up in his coat, hands fidgeting on your lap. It was a fun night – a night out with all of your friends, full of karaoke and laughter – until suddenly it wasn’t. The tsunami tides had crashed, and all too quickly you were left teary-eyed and weary with the heaviness of an all-encompassing sadness.
It was the type of sadness you couldn’t name, the kind that had built up for weeks under your nose. So when your eyes met Seokmin’s across the room, a silent plea for rescue in a secret language that the two of you had become fluent in, he grabbed his keys and coat and said goodbye as he took your hand and led you into the cold air.
“What happened?” He asked as the two of you made your way to his car. The question was quiet, almost buried under the whistle of the chilly winter wind. You were thankful that you had taken him up on his offer to drive, as being alone with your thoughts was the last thing you wanted to do.
“I wish I could say,” you replied. “I was fine, then all of a sudden… I just wasn’t.” You pulled your scarf a little higher, trying to protect your cheeks from the biting cold. Seokmin glanced over your way, and you stared straight into the night pretending not to notice the way his eyebrows furrowed together or the way he stepped just a little bit closer to you.
Seokmin didn’t say anything else until the two of you were safely buckled into the car, waiting for the heater to warm you both up. “Do you… want to talk about it?” He asked tentatively. If he was honest, he wasn’t sure what to say, but all he could do was act on the tug in his heart to make you feel better somehow.
You gave him a tired smile and wondered if he could even see it in the darkness of the night. “I do,” you began. “But I don’t even know what ‘it’ is. I’m just sad, and my heart feels tired.” It wasn’t a lot, but it was the best you could give him… or yourself for that matter. If you could talk it through, you would, because it was always easy to talk to Seokmin. But right now, you favored the silence.
Seokmin set the gear shift on drive, pulling out into the empty 2 a.m. roads. “You know, sometimes I like to drive around with nowhere to go,” he said softly. “It helps me think.” You looked towards him, but stayed quiet as he continued. “Especially when the stars are out like this, it’s a bit easier to put things into perspective. The universe is so big… It makes my problems feel a little smaller.
“Lately... things have been really difficult” he continued, pausing to take a breath. “There wasn’t really anyone I felt I could talk to. Not even the boys. But being out here, it felt like I could just take a minute to breathe. Like the world is on pause, for even just an hour.”
Under the warm yellow lights of the city, you could see Seokmin's fingers tightening around the wheel ever so slightly. Though he tried to keep his voice even, you could see the slight tremble in his lips, and you wanted so badly to touch him, to remind him that you were here now. Seokmin was not the type to talk about the heavier things that were weighing on him, and you were afraid that speaking might suddenly snap him out of it.
So instead you turned your attention forward once again to the empty streets, lined with restaurants that had closed hours ago and apartment balconies with Christmas lights still left hanging on the railings. Seokmin was right, it felt like the world was on pause. No one was walking around the street, no speedy drivers swerving through traffic. It was like you were the only people in the city… in the world.
Seokmin was quiet after his confession, letting whatever was playing on the radio fill the silence. It seemed to last for an eternity, until he finally put the car in park at the top of a parking garage. He reached up, pulling back the screen that covered the moon roof of his car.
“It’s a little too cold to sit outside, but this should be fine.” For the first time since you had entered the car, Seokmin looked at you and you could clearly see the beginnings of the tears that he had swatted away, lining the dark bags under his eyes. Has he always looked this tired? You wondered how lonely he must have been, hiding behind the walls he had built up and you were grateful to share even a fraction of the weight he’s been carrying alone all this time.
“Fine for what?” You asked.
“Like I said, looking at the stars helps to put it all into perspective,” he repeated, pointing out at an arbitrary speck of light in the night sky. “Just imagine you’re standing on one of them, looking down at Earth. It’s barely a speck in the distance. There’s nothing that can reach you from there. Nothing can touch you.” The energy in his explanation ended in a tired, resigned sigh that escaped his lips. “Nothing can reach you,” he added, barely a whisper.
Suddenly, your problems did begin to feel small, but not because of the stars. Looking at Seokmin now, the only thing on your mind was him. For all you’ve known him, he would listen to everyone else’s problems and fix them with a laugh, the way only he could, but who was there for him? Before you could think too hard about what you were doing, you reached across the console to find his hand. He didn’t look up, but when you laced your fingers in his, you felt a gentle squeeze.
“Seokmin,” you called his name. “I’m here.”
“I mean yeah, obviously you’re here–”
“No, Seokmin, I’m here,” you cut him off. “And I’m not going anywhere.” When he looked up finally and allowed himself to meet your eyes, you suddenly wondered if you were as fluent in your secret language as you had thought. In all the shared smiles, the times you scanned the room to find him whenever you laughed, the knowing glances, you had never seen his eyes this tired. The walls he built up were beginning to crumble, and all you could do was reach out to him.
“I am so tired,” he confessed. “And I didn’t even realize how tired I’ve become.” He took your other hand in his, bringing it up to his cheek, relaxing the slightest bit in your touch.
Before you met Seokmin, you would have described your life as being stuck under a rainy cloud. But one day, the skies parted and there he was. And for as long as you’ve known him, Seokmin has always been the sun. Giving off warmth to everyone around him, radiating nothing but joy and laughter, but also somewhat distant. Keeping himself away because if he got too close he might burn someone. But even the sun doesn’t stay out forever.
“It’s okay,” you assured him, pulling him closer to you. “Let yourself rest.” In that moment, all you could do was make a silent promise to God, the universe, the stars, whoever was listening, that you would always be there with Seokmin to let him rest, to let the quietness of night take over until he was ready to be the sun again.
The strained breaths coming from Seokmin made your heart ache, and you brought his forehead to yours. “If I’m not strong enough to carry these things alone,” he choked out. Before he could even finish his thought, you cut him off.
“No one said you have to carry it alone,” you said sternly, bringing your hand under his chin to force his eyes to meet yours. “Let us – let me, carry it with you.”
You stayed that way for a little while longer, or maybe it was forever, foreheads resting against each other over the console until you heard his ragged breathing finally steady itself. Seokmin let out a quiet but tired chuckle and you pulled away to look at him, unable to read the small smile that had made its way onto his features.
“What’s so funny, Seokmin?” you asked.
“It’s just,” he chuckled again. “I thought we were driving around to make you feel better, but as only you can do, you made me feel better instead.” It was his turn to reach up and touch your cheek, softly, as if he applied any more pressure he might break you. “And I didn’t even know I was sad,” he laughed, louder this time.
You laughed with him, as you always did, and looked down at your lap where your hands were fidgeting. Seokmin called your name quietly, his voice still raspy from crying and you looked back up. There it was again, the unreadable look in his eyes. “You…” he began. “You’re like the sun.”
Before you could even reply, his lips were already on yours.

one of the only thoughts on gojo satoru’s mind, from the moment he leaves home to the second he’s unlocking the door, is coming home to you.
his shoulders hurt from the amount of stress he’s under, every muscle in his body tense, eyes burning with exhaustion, and his head throbbing as the higher ups words ring in his ears. the light jingle of his keys as he unlocks the front door helps ground him a bit, blinking once, twice then opening the front door.
he’s greeted with the smell of food, he can’t quite place what it is (he doesn’t help in the kitchen much after the one time he did and ended up ruining three pans), he’s slipping his shoes off and placing his keys in the small leaf shaped holder on the table next to the door.
his eyes naturally focusing on the picture frame of the two of you on vacation last July, a wide, carefree smile painted on both of your faces, hair a bit messy from walking around. his cheeks were flushed as you planted a kiss to his cheek, your arms thrown around his neck.
satoru’s thrown out of his trance by the sudden sound of loud sizzling, the small smile on his face only growing when he hears your soft humming. his tired feet carry him quickly to the kitchen, a spring in his step as he grows closer and closer to being with you.
he feels the weight on his shoulders ease up a bit as his eyes land on you. he’s leaning against the wall, watching you chop up vegetables with a smile on his face, replacing the higher ups nagging ringing in his ears with your off-key singing.
“have you ever considered x-factor sweetheart?” he asks, a lopsided smile on his face when you turn to face him, bright eyes as you welcome him home.
“i sent in a recording once, they offered me a ten year contract but i declined” you teased, moving to stir the food cooking in the pan, “told them i have a very needy boyfriend that would die without me.”
satoru let’s put a small ‘pft’ at your words, pushing himself off the wall and walking up behind you, his arms snaking around your waist and chin resting on your shoulder.
“how was your day, angel boy?” you ask, voice as sweet as honey as you press a soft kiss to his cheek. satoru let’s put a small huff, his warm breath tickling your neck which causes you to smile.
“‘t was okay, just stressed out” he mumbles, “and the fucking higher ups are-”, his eyes closing as he remembers his conversation with them, sighing deeply. you pout a bit, noting his more more tense body against yours. you let yourself melt into his touch, turning around and hugging him properly.
“don’t wanna talk about it?” you ask gently, he shakes his head, bangs covering his eyes just a bit. you nod, giving him a smile before kissing his lips softly, “then we won’t.”
satoru is grateful, knowing that when the time is right he’ll open up to you about it. but for now he just wants to spend his night with the love of his life.
“good thing im making your favorite then huh?” you chuckle, watching the way his shoulders inflate, he’s standing taller and there’s a smile on his face.
it wasn’t long before the two of you were eating dinner together, making easy conversation and laughing at anything stupid either of you said. he’s placing the freshly washed plates on the drying rack, heading over to you on the couch when you stop him.
“go shower, I’ll let you use my stuff” you state, eyes widening as you see satoru already running towards the restroom, “just this once!” you call out, hearing his loud giggles echoing from down the hall.
it’s 40 minutes later when he’s emerging into your shared room in only his boxers, body still dripping with water and steam following him out. you can smell your rose scented body wash on him as he dries himself off besides you.
satoru is looking at you with big eyes, towel in hand as he grins up at you, “will you dry my hair?” his voice is filled with a gentleness you’ve grown much too soft for.
“come here” you smile, heart growing at the sound of an excited squeak he lets out. you’re gentle as you dry his hair, combing out any knots and putting some product in it before patting his head twice, letting him know you were done.
your lover is quick to change positions, taking you in his arms and curling himself around you, some damp strands landing on your face as he buries his face in your neck. you’re doing your best to wiggle your hands free from his grasp, adjusting so you can card your fingers through his hair, scratching his scalp a bit just the way he likes.
satoru visibly relaxes against your touch, practically purring as you whisper to him, “I’m so proud of you” you say, “you work so hard, angel” tenderness carried in every syllable of your words.
“I love you so much” you remind him, squeezing him a bit tighter, moving his hair from his forehead and placing a kiss there, “my beautiful boy” you murmur, a smile on your face as you see the way his grin grows.
the apples of his cheeks are rosy, pink dusting his entire face. satoru easily grabs your hips, placing you on top of him so that you straddle his lap.
“how do you always know what to say?” he asks, looking up at you with fond eyes, nuzzling his cheek into the palm of your hand as you place a stand of hair behind his ear.
“hmm, call it intuition” you tease, placing feathery kisses all over his face, the two of you giggling when you kiss his nose, “but it’s probably just ‘cause I’m your soulmate” you smile.
satoru hums in agreement, one hand snaking to the back of your neck, pulling you into a kiss, your lips moving in sync. when you pull away the two of you are giggling softly, foreheads resting against each other as he shifts a bit, kissing you nose before throwing his head back against the pillows, letting out a small sigh.
“sometimes i wish i was just your toru” he mumbles, “i never asked to be the strongest.” you can hear the slight tremor in his voice as he speaks, his eyes closing to fight tears back. you’re quick to kiss his cheeks, rubbing your thumb against his cheek as you coax him to look at you.
“i know you didn’t, angel boy” you sigh, brushing his hair away from his face gently, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “it’s gonna work itself out, i know it will” you reassure him, a small smile on your face as he nods along with you.
maybe you were right, maybe you weren’t, satoru didn’t care. he believed every word you said to him. each reassurance working to calm his exhausted mind, his eyes fluttering closed as you continue to whisper, your words meant for him and only him.
“and you’ll always be my toru” pressing a feathery kiss to his jaw, “the one with the stupid sweet tooth and terribly timed jokes” you smile, watching the way his smile returns to his face.
“I’ll always be here waiting for you to come home to me” you say, there’s a plethora of emotions dripping from your words. the only thing satoru feels is love, your undying and genuine love, for him.
gojo satoru may not know everything, but he knows one thing for sure; he’ll always be ready to run home to you and your sweet nothings.

╰┈➤ ❝ [Roach has a deep love of storms.] ❞
It was raining more in the last few hours than it had in the entire month, with a constant deluge of harsh winds and the occasional lightning strike; the rumble of dark-clouded thunder above the roof. Yet here, snuggling on the couch, you and Gary reveled in it.
The curtains were open to watch the raindrops, your cheek to the man’s chest as the warmth of the fireplace made you sleepy. There was no vacancy of comfort in this living room, Gary’s fingertips traveling up and down the length of your spine as the minutes slid into hours. The air was heavy with sappy heat, the thin blanket long pushed down past your shoulder blades.
His breath was puffing against your forehead, your nose situated in the junction of his chin. Gary was humming, too. A tiny little melody that neither of you could name—perhaps it wasn’t even a conscious symphony, just a mess of rough pitches and whatever he felt sounded good enough for your ears. You weren’t complaining, even if he was no lyricist.
His arm at your waist tightens, pulling you closer as he nuzzles his nose into your head with a tiny grunt.
Gary’s eyes are half-closed, the deep well of color soft and as malleable as clay. There was no need to speak to one another, no, in moments like these, the silence spoke for the both of you. The crackle of fire, the slam of rain; soft inhalations of your lungs. You press a warm kiss into his neck, and Gary’s lips pull into a tiny smile, his fingers digging into your flesh that yields to him as his gaze glints.
His chest reverberates with a hum, purring like a cat while a smug expression litters the lax lines of his face. With a gentle shift of his body, the man settles your back to the cushions as he shimmies to loom above you, blanket tying the both of you together in its fabric arms.
Gary’s hand is under your shirt, the wide hold of his grip cupping your opposite hip from behind as he suddenly collapses atop you with a sigh. You grunt, before a tiny fit of wheezed giggles escapes your lungs, the weight of his body no concern as his head shoves itself into your stomach, legs out behind him with one hanging off the edge. Head against the pillow, your warm hands rub through Gary’s hair, carding through the locks as he loses all focus and sags—eyes fluttering at the scrape of your nails.
You both release a long breath as a slash of lightning slices the dark world outside; neither of you flinches, not even the Sergeant in your grip, when the thunder rolls through. There wasn’t anything to fear in this house, and there never would be.
So, Gary gradually succumbs to the ministrations of your touch, his humming tapering off until nothing but his gentle snores give you their song. You continue to play with his hair, thumb rubbing circles.
The fire burns on, the storm continues its rampage, and the lovers fall to sleep in each other’s arms.
I’d like to request something for Leonardo and MC if possible - just something, anything! that shows him in a moment of pure happiness, no angst or moping for that sad man. No being depressed about immortality this time, that poor guy. It’s way too tempting to torture him so I’d love something sweet for him 💖 Thank you so much 😊
A/N: Here you go anon! I hope you enjoy!
Fluff and fluff
tw: descriptions of writer's block
There is nothing like the feeling of sitting down in front of a blank page and watching as something that existed only in your mind comes to life before you. When inspiration ignites the flame of creation, when creativity bursts forth and flows freely, coloring the world with your vision. Except when it just……..doesn’t.
Cross-legged on Leonardo’s bed, you stare pensively down at the leather-bound notebook in front of you, pencil in hand. His bedroom is awash in candlelight, Mozart’s late night composing floating faintly through the air. Hmph, at least someone’s inspired tonight.
You’re wrapped up in one of Leonardo’s soft, white linen shirts, your favorite thing to sleep in, his scent like a warm embrace. "Perfect writing conditions", you mutter, irritated as you shift, pushing yourself up against the pillows. Everything is set up for you to create and yet….nothing. All you have are the bullet points and notes you’ve scribbled, tiny dough-like drabbles, unformed and just….sitting there.
This is the state you are in when Leonardo returns from his card game with Comte, Arthur and Theo. You can tell by the way he’s grinning that he’s beaten them. Again.
“There she is, Luce della mia vita.” He’s in a good mood, his voice almost singsong as he closes the door behind him.
He throws his jacket over a chair already overrun by books in one fluid motion and kicks his boots off without having to bend down, expert levels of ease and laziness on display. With a yawn, he lowers himself onto the bed next to you, stretching out his long limbs, a lion coming to rest after a long day on the Savannah. One hand reaches down, his warm palm running over the exposed skin of your thigh, a gesture of familiar, casual possession.
“Whatcha working on?” He continues to touch you as he lifts himself up onto one elbow, peering over at the notebook in your lap.
You sigh, frustration still poking at you like a thousand, red-hot needles.
“I’m trying to write a story. You know, for the Children’s Day celebration next week. I thought it might be nice to offer to read something original to the kids who need a break from the day’s festivities.”
Affection softens the smile on his lips and lights up the gold of his eyes.
“That’s a great idea, cara mia.”
The pencil falls from your fingers onto the notebook, defeat slinking ever closer.
“It would be if I could just come up with…..something.” You know you’re moping, but your mind feels stuffed with musty straw and you can’t seem to clear it.
His touch turns soothing as he runs his fingers over the sensitive skin of your inner thigh, leaning down to press a kiss just above your bent knee, then laying his cheek against you. You reach down to touch him, tearing your gaze away from the mocking blank pages in front of you, focusing on the way your fingers look as they brush back his soft hair, the way they sink into it, disappearing for a moment and then emerge when you reach the pale ends. Another sigh, not of dismay but the moment of comfort, like the echo of satisfaction after a first sip of warm tea on a cold winter’s day. With him here, the disappointment you’ve been wrestling with for hours has a safe place to go, someone who will gather it in his hands and try to help you spin straw into gold.
“Alright then.”
He draws himself up, leaning back against the pillows of his bed. Once settled, he hums as he gathers you close, a sound that reverberates inside you in the most pleasant way. He picks up the pencil you dropped and holds it out to you, wiggling it until you take it from him with an indulgent roll of your eyes.
“Tell me what you have so far. I’m all ears, yeah?”
Tucked against him isn’t the most comfortable way to sit if you’re trying to read but you accept it if it means you can be close to him like this, his warmth a balm to your fraying nerves.
“Don’t laugh.”
Both brows shoot up, his expression the innocence of angels.
“Never, cara mia.”
Mm hm. Using your pencil, you tap the bullet points you’ve made with ideas.
“This is the story of Captain Lumiere, a fierce pirate who sails the seven seas in search of treasure.”
Leonardo grins slowly, stretching out his bare foot to tap the ball of black fur on the very far corner of the bed.
“Do you hear that, Lumi? You’re a pirate.”
Lumiere lifts his head for a moment, yellow eyes blinking sleepily, decides he isn’t interested in the slightest in whatever nonsense you two are up to and curls himself back into an even tighter ball, whiskers disappearing as he tucks his head away.
“Monello”, murmurs Leonardo, lips curved upwards. Brat. He turns his attention back to you, raising one long finger to run over the page as he reads your notes.
“Hmm…so Captain Lumiere decides to go after the treasure of La Sirena, a sea witch with a legendary treasure chest of gold and jewels.”
You nod, shifting on the bed. “On his way to find the treasure, he fights an evil sea monster, a giant squid with long, sticky tentacles that attacks his ship.”
“What is the monster’s name?”
You bite the inside of your cheek, contemplating. “Arthur?”
He laughs, golden sparks of sunshine raining down on you, covering you in warmth. “Perfetto. Go on.”
“And there is a big storm…..and….then I don’t know.” Again you feel like cotton is smothering the creative part of your mind, absorbing any ideas before they even have a chance to form.
He is quiet a moment, staring up at the ceiling as he thinks. You can almost see the wheels of his mind as they turn, the way the cogs and gears move effortlessly, processing any problem you throw at him.
“What if….Captain Lumiere, brave soul that he is, survives the storm only to be shipwrecked on an island…..which just so happens to be where La Sirena resides.”
His words dig into the cotton, begin slowly raking it away. You feel the smallest sparks of an idea starting to form.
“Oh! He could have an actual confrontation with her! A fight for her treasure.”
Leonardo’s hand travels absently down your shoulder to the ends of your hair where he slowly curls the ends around one finger. “Why fight? Lumiere is a lover.”
You glance at the black furball on the end of the bed who is ignoring the both of you like a champion.
“A lover.” You glance at Leonardo, skepticism showing itself in the arch of your brow.
“Yeah,” he says with a lazy grin. “Write that down.” He sounds excited and it is infectious. You give into it and to him with a shake of your head and a smile. Bubbles of creativity rise inside of you like prosecco, sparking excitement as you begin adding notes to the pages.
“He could fall in love with La Sirena!”
“Abelina.”
You turn your head. “What?”
Deadly serious, he nods. “Yeah, La Sirena’s name is Abelina.” He pokes at your notebook. “C’mon. Write that down too.”
Comte will be thrilled, you think with a grin as you add the note. Together, you and Leonardo work out the epic saga of Captain Lumiere, his quest for treasure, his battle with the tentacled Arthur, his passionate love for Abelina and their eventual settlement on the island where they decide to gift the treasure to the next brave soul that finds them because, as it turns out, they don’t need it. Lumiere and Abelina have found love, and that is the greatest treasure of all.
Some time later, when time is measured by yawns and sleepy smiles, you close the notebook and lay it on the nightstand as Leonardo snuffs out all the candles in the room except one. You hear the rustle of his clothing as it falls to the ground. Your love sleeps in the nude, a fact you’ll never lament. You pull back the covers for him as he slides into bed next you and roll into the waiting circle of his arms, relishing the feel of his long body against yours.
“Thank you for helping me tonight.” You speak softly now in the intimate darkness of night.
He turns his head, his lips touching your forehead in a gentle kiss.
“Certo, tesoro mio.” His voice is the soft night breeze over fields of sleeping lavender. “Now rest, my beautiful scribe. I’ll keep you safe from storms and sirens.”
“You better or else I’ll send the ferocious Captain after you.”
The sound of the ferocious Captain purring fiercely in his slumber reaches both of you at the same time, and the last sound you hear as you snuggle close to the man you love is his velveteen laughter sending you off to dream.

You woke up feeling an unusual heaviness in your limbs, a dull ache in your head, and a scratchy throat that seemed to have appeared overnight. The bed that once felt like a sanctuary now felt like a trap as you struggled to sit up, a wave of dizziness crashing over you.
“Ugh, I feel terrible,” you mumbled to yourself, barely recognizing your own voice. Your throat felt like sandpaper, and each word was a laborious effort. You reached for your phone, squinting at the bright screen to check the time. It was still early, but you knew you needed help.
“Hey guys, I think I’m sick,” you texted the group chat with your husbands. Your fingers felt clumsy, and even typing out that short message seemed to drain what little energy you had left.
It wasn’t long before you heard footsteps hurrying down the hall. The door to your room creaked open, and Minho’s concerned face appeared, quickly followed by Felix and Chan. Minho, always the observant one, was the first to approach your bed.
“Y/nnie, why didn’t you say something sooner?” Minho’s voice was gentle but laced with worry as he placed the back of his hand on your forehead. “You’re burning up.”
Felix knelt by the bed, his brows furrowed in concern. “You should’ve called us earlier. We’re here to take care of you, remember?”
Chan sat on the edge of the bed, his eyes filled with concern. “Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Let’s get you comfortable first.”
Minho disappeared into the kitchen, determined to make you some soup. You could hear the clattering of pots and pans, a reassuring sound that brought a small smile to your lips despite the discomfort.
Felix, always the sweet one, began massaging your aching limbs. His touch was gentle and soothing, working out the tension that had built up in your muscles. “This will help you feel better, I promise,” he said softly, a comforting warmth to his words.
You managed a weak smile, appreciating the effort they were putting into making you feel better. “Thanks, Felix. It already helps.”
Felix grinned, his freckles dancing on his cheeks as he did. “Good, because I’m not stopping until you’re back to your usual self. And I might throw in a few jokes to speed up the process.”
You chuckled weakly, the sound turning into a cough that made your throat burn. Felix’s hand stilled for a moment, but he quickly resumed, trying to soothe the discomfort.
Chan reached over and took your hand in his, his grip firm yet gentle. “I won’t let you go through this alone. We’re here for you, no matter what.”
A tear slipped down your cheek at his words, not from sadness but from the overwhelming gratitude you felt. “You guys are amazing. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Minho returned with a steaming bowl of soup, the aroma filling the room and making your stomach growl despite the nausea. “Alright, time for some of my special homemade soup. It’s guaranteed to make you feel better.”
He sat beside you, carefully blowing on a spoonful of soup before bringing it to your lips. “Open up, Y/nnie. Just a little at a time.”
You obediently opened your mouth, the warm broth sliding down your throat and instantly providing a bit of relief. Minho continued to feed you patiently, ensuring you ate slowly so as not to upset your stomach further.
“Thank you, Minho. This is really good,” you said between sips, feeling a bit of strength returning with each spoonful.
Minho smiled, his eyes soft with affection. “Anything for you. Just focus on getting better, okay?”
As the day went on, the three of them took turns tending to your needs. Felix continued his massages, cracking silly jokes that made you smile even when you didn’t think you had the energy to.
“What did the sick tomato say to the other tomato?” Felix asked with a grin.
You raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. “What?”
“I’m feeling a bit under the weather,” Felix replied, wiggling his eyebrows comically.
You couldn’t help but laugh, the sound blending with a cough. “That’s terrible, Felix.”
He laughed along with you, the sound lightening the heavy atmosphere in the room. “I know, but if it makes you smile, it’s worth it.”
Chan was your constant source of comfort, his presence a soothing balm to your fevered state. Whenever you felt cold, he would wrap his arms around you, holding you close and sharing his warmth. “I’m not going anywhere,” he’d whisper, his breath tickling your ear. “I’ll be right here, I promise.”
You leaned into his embrace, finding solace in his steady heartbeat and the gentle rise and fall of his chest. “I don’t want to get you sick,” you murmured, though your words were half-hearted. The comfort he provided was too precious to refuse.
“You won’t,” Chan assured you, his voice firm and unwavering. “Taking care of you is more important. We’ll worry about me later.”
Minho kept the soup coming, ensuring you stayed hydrated and nourished. He even prepared some herbal tea, its soothing properties helping to ease the soreness in your throat. Each sip felt like a small victory, a step closer to feeling normal again.
“Minho, you’re really good at this,” you said after finishing another bowl of soup. “Have you been practicing?"
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Just years of taking care of you all. Plus, it’s easy to put in the effort when it’s for someone as special as you, my beautiful wife,” he winked at you, making you blush softly.
The day stretched on, with Felix’s jokes becoming a steady background to the symphony of Minho’s cooking and Chan’s comforting presence. The combination of their care and the medicine they brought you gradually began to ease your symptoms.
As the sun set and the room grew dim, Minho suggested you try to get some rest. “Sleep is the best medicine, after all. We’ll be right here if you need anything.”
You nodded, feeling the weight of the day’s exhaustion settling in. “Thank you, all of you. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Felix tucked the blankets around you, his touch gentle and reassuring. “You don’t have to worry about that because we’re not going anywhere.”
Chan kissed your forehead, his lips cool against your fevered skin. “Sweet dreams, Y/nnie. We’ll be here when you wake up.”
You drifted off to sleep, their presence a comforting anchor in the haze of your illness. The night passed in a blur of fevered dreams and intermittent wakefulness, but every time you opened your eyes, one of them was there, keeping watch and ensuring you were never alone.
The next morning, you woke to the sound of quiet chatter and the smell of fresh coffee. Blinking blearily, you saw Minho setting a tray with breakfast on your bedside table, Felix fluffing the pillows behind you, and Chan smiling warmly from the foot of the bed.
“How are you feeling today?” Minho asked, his voice gentle as he helped you sit up.
“A bit better,” you admitted, surprised at the improvement. “Still tired, but not as bad as yesterday.”
Felix grinned, his eyes sparkling with relief. “That’s what we like to hear. More soup?”
You nodded, grateful for their continued care. “Yes, please. I think it’s working.” Minho handed you a bowl, and you sipped the warm broth slowly, savoring the taste. “Thank you, Minho. This really is the best soup I’ve ever had.”
He smiled, a hint of pride in his eyes. “I’m glad you like it. There’s plenty more where that came from.”
As you ate, Chan took your hand in his, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on your skin. “We’ll keep taking care of you until you’re back to full strength. No rush.”
Felix leaned in, his expression playful. “And I’ve got plenty more jokes to keep you entertained. Ready for another one?”
You laughed, the sound feeling more natural and less strained. “Always.”
“What do you call fake spaghetti?” Felix asked, his grin widening.
“I don’t know, what?” you replied, curious despite yourself.
“An impasta!” he exclaimed, his eyes crinkling with amusement.
You couldn’t help but laugh, the silly joke lifting your spirits. “You’re ridiculous, Felix.”
“But you love me for it,” he shot back, his grin infectious.
Chan squeezed your hand gently. “And we all love you, Y/nnie. We’re here for you, no matter what.”
Tears of gratitude welled up in your eyes again, but this time, they were accompanied by a genuine smile. “I love you all too. Thank you for everything.”
The rest of the day passed in a similar fashion, with Minho ensuring you were well-fed, Felix keeping you entertained, and Chan providing constant comfort. They took turns sitting with you, their presence a constant reminder that you were loved and cared for.
By the time night fell again, you felt significantly better. The fever had subsided, and the aches in your body had lessened. You knew you still had a way to go, but with them by your side, you felt confident you could handle anything.
“Feeling ready for bed?” Chan asked as he helped you settle back under the blankets.
“Yeah, I think so,” you replied, exhaustion creeping in once more.
Felix kissed your forehead gently. “Sweet dreams, Y/nnie. We’ll be here when you wake up.”
Minho adjusted the covers one last time, his touch tender. “Rest well. Tomorrow will be even better.”
As you closed your eyes, you felt a sense of peace wash over you. Surrounded by their love and care, you knew you were in the best possible hands. And with that comforting thought, you drifted off to sleep, your heart full of gratitude and affection for the three amazing men who had shown you just how much they cared.

hellooo this is so weirdly coincidental omg but i just haaaaddd to tell you!! i came across your saltburn fic and while i usually only read hotd.. i just had to read! ive never watched saltburn or any of jacob elordi’s work but i saw your header image and the queens sign and was instantly like ooh! interesting! bc im from queens! and i was hooked by your beautiful storytelling! and your recent chapter about peking duck from flushing??? my mom actually gets that for us on christmas/new years??? and to make it worse! my brother’s name happens to be michael??? and i major in art!!!
idk if that was like.. too much info to give out on tumblr but i just… ahfjlkaj im screaming and ik michael is totally not a unique name and millions of ppl live in nyc and queens and major in art but ive just never ever come across a fic in the fandoms i frequent that share so many (**delulu**) similarities with my life (though im definitely very far from being a yn 😂)
and while i know nothing about felix catton or the saltburn plot, your writing in fuck everything is phenomenal! so vividly captivating and truly showing, not telling! i live for your writing. thank you for sharing it! 💚💚
Listen, I can’t tell you how many times I read this with this biggest smile on my face. It’s literally such an honor to have you experience and read my fic. The idea was something I thought about for a while, and I have always wanted to go to Flushings! I am actually from NJ, so there’s a lot of love from one New state to another!
I actually am so relieved that you were able to connect with the reader in this fic. I never would have imagined that my writing to make such an amazing connection with someone else. I have always admired people who are courageous enough pursue art, especially since I was encouraged to pursue science and math as a child. So I wanted to make a reader who also had that courage.
And that’s who y/n and x reader’s fics are all about! A way for people to connect to the story and feel a connection and see themselves in the story! I’m y/n, YOU’RE y/n, we are ALL y/n!
I am really glad to have reached another person to read my stories and interact with! I also write HOTD x reader stories too! I recently wrote a Christmas Aemond x Reader fic too! Please check it out and tell me your thoughts! Not only is it super encouraging, but if there’s any tips to share, it helps me as a writer!
Once again, thanks so much for your kind words! And I am so glad for you to join along the ride! I do recommend watching Saltburn, because it’s definitely an experience, albeit an odd one.

Curiosity killed the cat.
The irony of the phrase wasn’t entirely lost on Regulus as he cautiously peered through the bustling kitchen. The elves were cleaning up after supper, humming and working diligently to keep the castle in order behind the scenes. Some of them leaned down to reach for him with soapy fingers, but he narrowly avoided each attempt, baring his teeth in warning.
They would not deter him from his true mission to infiltrate the basement. Having explored all the nooks and crannies Hogwarts had to offer, the Hufflepuff common room was his Atlantis—the last unexplored territory that he had yet to set foot in.
In his current state, it was perhaps more accurate to say that Regulus had never set paw in this corner of the castle. Most of the time, he found his spontaneous transformations terribly inconvenient, but as Regulus slipped past the door without a trace, the youngest Black brother was suddenly grateful for his complete lack of mastery over his Animagus form.
To be fair, he was only trying to find some peace and quiet. As of late, Regulus had become particularly fond of the kitchens. It was always warm down here and the smell of freshly baked bread wafted from the ovens and beckoned him towards its glorious scent like a beacon. Not to mention the fact that the elves often left a bowl of cold milk for him every night.
Well, he supposed it wasn’t exactly for him. At least, not his true human form. The elves were not fond of Regulus the person, but they did adore the feral black cat that haunted the halls of Hogwarts.
Potato, potato.
The point is, that his benevolent caretakers were typically careful about securing the ever mysterious door at the end of his little haven. Lest he get his wily little paws all over those timid badgers. Much to his delight, the security measure was not in place tonight. The door was wide open, presenting Regulus with an offer that was simply too good to pass up.
With a shimmy, he slinked behind enemy lines. Despite being located in the lower levels of the castle like the dungeons were, the Hufflepuff common room was far more welcoming. Instead of gothic furnishings and depressing color palettes, Regulus was greeted with warm earth tones and mismatched furniture. Plants of all shapes and sizes littered the room, which were far more pleasant to look upon than the haughty portraits that lined his own common room. At least the mimbulus in the corner didn’t sputter out rather unnecessary comments about the length of his curls every time he entered the dungeons.
The Hufflepuffs seemed averse to the menacing lighting that his fellow serpents seemed so fond of, choosing instead to illuminate their space with enchanted sun lamps. It was charming and cozy, if one were to take notice of such things. Malfoy would have deemed it greenhouse chic with a sneer that conveyed aristocratic distaste. For that reason alone, Regulus decided he liked the place.
The growing fondness was solidified as he followed the intoxicating scent of banana nut muffins. The trail led him to a dorm tucked away into the heart of the basement. Luckily for Regulus, the door was slightly ajar, which was more than enough permission for him to venture inside and make himself comfortable. It was the standard issue room—two beds, two desks, and two dressers. Yet the right side drew his attention.
The top of the nightstand was brimming with books, all stacked in no particular order. The color scheme of the blankets and pillows consisted of golds, pinks, and oranges, reminding Regulus of the sunset. Fairy lights and enchanted plants provided a lived in feel, which was more than he could say for his obsessively neat dorm with its alphabetically arranged library and utilitarian furniture. Everything in his room was designed with practicality instead of comfort in mind. A choice he was rather proud of until the stark contrast made his space feel cold and rigid in comparison.
The reading nook nestled beside the hearth drew him in like a moth to a flame. Regulus inspected the cloud chair, stomping on the soft woven blanket and plush pillows with his paw before coming to the conclusion that it was as good a place as any to burrow.
This was the life, he said. Or purred, if he was being technical.
As Regulus enjoyed the comforts of his newfound paradise, he failed to consider the fact that this dorm belonged to someone and that someone would likely be back any second to reclaim their refuge, given the late hour. Engrossed as he was with licking his paws, Regulus startled when the door swung open. Instantly, he recognized the owner of the dorm as the shy and quiet Hufflepuff that sat beside him in Charms. Regulus lifted a paw to his furry head, feeling foolish that he had not connected the dots earlier.
No wonder the banana muffin scent drew him in. Every now and then, he caught a whiff of it in class when you quietly claimed the spot beside him. The colorful scrunchies on the dresser also sparked his memory. How many times had Regulus witnessed you twisting the hair tie around your wrist as you quietly murmured the correct answers to Professor Flitwick’s questions under your breath? It never made much sense to him that you would allow the others to blatter and stutter through topics you were clearly an expert on, but Regulus attributed that to his proximity to pompous know-it-all pricks all his life. Slytherins were known to be showoffs, but you seemed to be the complete opposite.
Perhaps that was the reason why he stayed. Well, that and the fact that he was currently too comfortable to even dream of leaving his sanctuary. Really, the decision was made for him. Regulus watched as you settled into your desk, studying diligently as your quill flew across the parchment. Every so often, you leaned back against the chair and stared at whatever problem eluded you as though intimidating the parchment would bring forth the correct answer. It was rather endearing. Dare he say, charming.
In his mind, only minutes had passed since the start of your silent companionship, but a glance at the clock said otherwise. It was nearly midnight at this rate. As Regulus grumbled about his inevitable separation from the comfy cloud couch, a group of girls spilled into the room. They briefly said hello to you before gathering at the vanity table on the left side of the room. Regulus assumed one of them was your roommate. Probably the dark haired girl chattering on about the party the Gryffindors were hosting tonight.
“Do you think Cormac will be there?” she asked hopefully.
The other girls nodded in agreement, asking questions about the older boy with misplaced enthusiasm. Regulus wrinkled his nose. McLaggen, really? Your roommate truly needed to raise her standards. He glanced over in your direction, snorting as he caught the tail end of your grimace. Clearly, you weren’t a fan either.
After the girls were satisfied with their appearances, your roommate sauntered over to your desk with a friendly smile. “Would you like to come to the party with us, Y/N?”
Before you could answer, one of the other girls rudely interrupted. “Oh no, Y/N doesn’t go to parties. She’s too shy.”
Regulus vaguely recognized the annoyingly nasally tone of the speaker. He thought her name was Brandy or Brenda. Whichever one it was, she always hung around the quidditch team batting her eyelashes and laughing in an exaggerated way that bordered on deranged. It deeply irritated Regulus.
“Isn’t that right, Y/N? Our little bookworm only prefers the company of her novels. No chance of embarrassing yourself in front of boys when they’re just words on paper.”
“That’s mean, Britt,” scolded your roommate.
Regulus very much wanted to scamper across the room and bite Britt’s ankles. He lifted his head up as you stood, mentally encouraging you to even the score by chucking a tome at that horrid girl’s head, but instead you simply smoothed down the front of your gingham dress and smiled.
“Thanks for the offer, Mina, but I think I’ll stay in tonight. You girls have fun though.”
The others were more than happy to flee the awkward tension in the room. You bid them goodbye at the door before closing it behind you. As it clicked into place, you released a sigh. Regulus tracked your movements as you swiped a book from the teetering tower on your nightstand before collapsing into bed.
“God, what’s wrong with me?” You whispered softly to yourself. “It’s Friday night. I should be going out and partying, but instead I’m wallowing alone. No wonder everyone thinks I’m just a boring bookworm.”
Regulus voiced his disagreement. Unfortunately for him, the words came out as a series of meows. He blended in amongst the blankets, his whiskers barely peeking out from a distance. Unaware of his presence, you yelped at the strange cat peering at you from the reading nook. The noise startled Regulus, causing him to launch across the room and into the bed.
“Oh, it’s just you.” You sat upright, cocking your head at him. Your fingers twitched at your side, probably itching to pet him. You restrained yourself, respecting his general aversion to humans. “If you’re here to bring me bad luck, then I’m sorry to say that I’ve got enough of that on my own already.”
In protest, Regulus attempted to headbutt your hand, but it only resulted in an unintentional nuzzle. You chuckled in amusement before carefully patting his furry head. He dodged your hand and swiped at your leg, but the padding motions quickly turned to him just making biscuits on your thigh.
You chuckled in response. “Hm, everyone says you’re a mean kitty, but I think you’re just a little misunderstood.” Regulus huffed, but his displeasure was short lived as you scratched under his chin. He was only slightly embarrassed at how eager he was to receive more. “Look at us, we make quite the pair.”
At that, Regulus purred in agreement.
From that night forward, Regulus became a frequent visitor. He hadn’t intended on making a habit of it, but every time Regulus accidentally transformed, he found himself in your dorm. It wasn’t his fault that it was warm and toasty and smelled like pastries. If you weren’t trying to attract a feral cat, you shouldn’t have made your room so inviting.
During one of his visits, your roommate walked by and yelped at the sight of him. Regulus lifted his chin up in challenge as he claimed his rightful seat on your lap. “Is that the feral cat that almost took off Cedric’s fingers?”
Regulus purred in answer. He was rather proud of that moment. Would’ve gotten away with it too had it not been for Diggory’s quick reflexes.
You barely looked up from your book as you combed through his fur. “Mhm. He likes to follow me around sometimes. He’s like my little shadow.” A bright smile curved against your lips. “Oh, I think we found you a name. Shadow.”
From then on, Regulus wore the name like a badge. The name seemed to awaken more of his animal instincts because his spontaneous transformations became a rather frequent occurrence. At the beginning, they were isolated to nights and thus easier to manage, but now his Animagus form seemed to have no respect for convenience. As of late, the transformations were happening more and more often with absolutely no rhyme or reason.
The only common denominator seemed to be you. Every time Regulus was in his Animagus form, he sought you out. Whether he was interrupting Potions class to jump in your lap or resting next to you in the courtyard while you read, Regulus was resigned to the fact that he would end up in your proximity one way or another. He basked in the attention you showered him with, shamelessly nuzzling against your hand for more chin scratches and cuddles. It became a routine for the two of you. Most nights, you read in silence as he curled against you for warmth, but other nights, your inner monologue spilled out and he listened to you grapple with your shyness and anxiety.
Funny, you didn’t seem all that reserved around him. But then again he had taken on the form of a grumpy yet harmless cat. You were none the wiser that Regulus Black was currently purring for more pets as you lamented over the events of the day. He listened intently, not quite understanding your desire to become more sociable. You seemed to view it as a deficiency, but Regulus had always leaned towards the extremities of introvertedness. Though in his case, no one batted an eye when he was abrupt and abrasive. It was just how he was.
Hufflepuffs, on the other hand, were expected to be sunshine and butterflies. You were, Regulus thought. In your own quiet way, you radiated joy. It wasn’t loud or obnoxious or overbearing. It was just right. Regulus longed to tell you just as much, but it wasn’t like he was in a position to. Outside these late night talks, the two of you hardly spoke a word to one another.
Perhaps it was time to change that.
The first time Regulus tried to speak to you was a complete and utter disaster.
It was bright and early on a Monday morning. You slipped into your seat a few minutes before the start of Charms. The two of you were always the first ones in class, so he figured it was an opportune time to strike up a conversation without overwhelming you.
“How was your weekend?”
You blinked up at him, surveying the room covertly as though you weren’t quite sure that he was speaking to you. Regulus watched you flush as you realized that he was indeed addressing the question to you.
“It was good,” you responded cautiously. “How was yours?”
Regulus paused. “It was…fine.”
Never in his life had he wanted to swan dive into the Black Lake and become fodder for the merpeople. The response was a natural conversation killer, but he couldn’t very well tell you that he spent the entire weekend lounging in your dorm as you read Pride and Prejudice for the umpteenth time. That little revelation probably would’ve resulted in a restraining order.
The short and awkward dialogue made him cringe internally, but you simply smiled politely at him. For Salazar’s sake, where was the basilisk when Regulus needed it?
When lunch came around, he was still pondering the less than lackluster encounter. Regulus needed to find a way in. As his friends chattered and chatted, he stared intently across the Great Hall and watched you. Things were so much easier when you thought he was a cat.
“Reg, mate, you haven’t blinked for like five minutes. You’re really starting to freak me out.”
The annoying little quip from Nott brought Regulus out of his stupor. Had he truly been staring for that long? He hoped to Godric that you hadn’t caught him being an utter creep. A sly glance told him that you were none the wiser as you continued chatting with Luna Lovegood and Ginny Weasley. He turned to Theodore and frowned.
“What are you staring at, anyways?” asked Mattheo. The curly headed git surveyed the room for the object of his friend’s focus, which only made Regulus more irate.
“Nothing,” Regulus mumbled.
Riddle, ever the menace, grinned as he spotted you. “Doesn’t look like nothing to me.”
He elbowed Theo, who smirked once he too caught sight of you. “Say, Reggie, don’t you have Charms with that cute little Hufflepuff?”
“Shut it, Nott.”
“Whoa, a little touchy there, aren’t we? No need to fret. I won’t turn my Italian charms on her. After all, I wouldn’t dare go after one of my mate’s crushes.”
Regulus bristled. “I do not have a crush.”
“Sure, mate, and I’m Harry bloody Potter,” scoffed Mattheo. “You’re not fooling anyone, you know.”
“Does this conversation have a purpose besides showcasing your remarkable skill of grating my nerves?”
“Aw, Reggie’s upset.” Mattheo and Theodore chuckled as Regulus stood abruptly. He flung the napkin onto his plate and walked off without explanation. “Don’t worry, mate. We won’t tell anyone about your secret girlfriend.”
Unfortunately for Regulus, the childish teasing gained traction over the next few days. Trust Nott and Riddle to be a general nuisance to his everyday life. Every time you walked past Regulus in the halls, his friends (debatable as of late) would nudge him and smirk. Given that Mattheo and Theo possessed the subtlety of a bull in a china shop, you were definitely beginning to notice.
Even worse, Lorenzo had taken it upon himself to chat you up in the courtyard. Regulus looked on in horror as his best friend laughed and gesticulated alongside you on the bench. His presence had not gone unnoticed by their fellow classmates. A crowd of Hufflepuffs began crowding near your usual spot under the willow tree and Regulus could easily spot the tell-tale signs of your anxiety blooming. He needed to put an end to this.
“Berkshire, can I talk to you for a second?”
Lorenzo appeared completely unbothered as he nodded. “Sure, just let me wrap up here. Reg, you’ve met Y/N, right? She was kind enough to lend me notes for History of Magic.”
You looked up and gave Regulus a shy wave. The desire to throttle Lorenzo diminished by a few notches. “Sorry about him. Berkshire’s a bit overeager. Not fully trained, you see.”
His friend protested the accusation. “Hey, I’m standing right here!”
Regulus ignored his protests. Lorenzo might as well have been halfway across the world with how little attention he paid to his friend. He was far too busy being enamored with the way you tried to bite back a grin.
“Thank you for indulging him. I’ll make sure he doesn’t go off leash again.”
You chuckled. “It’s alright, really. I’ve got a habit of attracting strays.”
“Where is that little monster of yours, anyways? Busy clawing off some unsuspecting student’s face?” Lorenzo quipped.
“Shadow isn’t so bad. He’s actually very sweet, once you get to know him.”
Regulus tried not to grin.
Lorenzo shot him a knowing look. “Sounds like someone else I know.”
Regulus rolled his eyes. “Sorry again about him. I’ll make sure he returns your notes.” He tugged Lorenzo by the collar. “Now let’s go, Berkshire. We’re going to be late for practice.”
“Bye, Y/N!” Lorenzo called over his shoulder. “Don’t be a stranger.”
“Bye, Lorenzo,” you said with an amused smile. “I’ll see you in class, Regulus.”
Regulus couldn’t help but smile. “See you in class, Y/N.”
Thanks to his meddlesome friends, Regulus kept finding himself in less than ideal situations. The twats seemed determined to force you two together. Lorenzo, most of all.
Every time they studied in the library, you seemed to conveniently be seated a few desks away. Every time they were walking back from quidditch practice, you coincidentally seemed to be headed to the greenhouse. Every time Lorenzo fetched something in his locker, you just so happened to be walking by between classes.
It was during one of these times that Regulus overheard Britt making snippy little comments about your dresses and bows, commenting on how you were always lost in your books, even citing the fact that the feral cat had taken a liking to you because birds of a feather flock together. Your roommate defended you, but she was a lone voice amongst the other mindless girls who laughed along with Britt. The next time Regulus ran into her in his cat form, he made sure to hiss and claw at her.
In terms of finding his way in, Regulus had yet to crack the code. When it was just you and your Shadow, you spoke to him for hours and hours. But when he was actually himself, you were so quiet and reserved.
“Why don’t you just talk to her?” Lorenzo offered.
The glare Regulus cut his way was sharper than a splicing spell. “I’ve tried, but I’m terrible at it. I asked her about the weather, Enzo. The bloody weather!”
To his credit, Lorenzo didn’t laugh. Instead, he seemed deep in thought. “You’ve got to find out what she’s passionate about. What’s something that she could talk about for hours and hours?”
Regulus bolted out of his chair, startling Lorenzo. “You’re a genius, Berkshire.”
His friend looked utterly confused. “Thanks, I suppose?”
Half an hour later, Regulus found himself standing in a labyrinth. Plot Twist, the largest bookstore in the village, was as magical as you described it to be. Each aisle was filled to the brim with books, the shelves winding and twisting in on itself to reveal even more volumes. Soft classical music played throughout the shop, its interior filled with kitschy trinkets and illuminated by enchanted candles.
If Regulus recalled correctly, the latest installment of your favorite series just recently released. You mentioned it to Ginny in the Great Hall last week while he lounged on your lap. Was it ethical to eavesdrop on your conversations and use the information he gleaned to grow closer to you? Perhaps not, but he couldn’t help it. Cunning was in his nature. There was a reason Regulus was sorted into Slytherin, after all.
So here he was on a Friday afternoon, looking absolutely engrossed in the romance section of the bookstore. Regulus picked up a novel from the display. One of your favorites, of course.
From the corner of his eye, Regulus glimpsed your entrance into the store. Naturally, you were headed in his direction since romance was your preferred guilty pleasure. He pretended to skim through the summary despite the fact that he already read the book in its entirety. When you were reading it back in your dorm, you blushed so much that he had to see what the fuss was about for himself.
“Oh, that’s a really good one,” you said shyly.
“Yeah?” Regulus asked, noting the pretty flush dusting your cheeks. “Have you read it before?”
“About a thousand times.”
“What’s the verdict, then? Would you recommend it to me?”
You cocked your head in observation, taking him in. Regulus was acutely aware that he didn’t fit the usual demographic of romance novel readers. Hell, even his all black ensemble clashed with the vibrant book covers.
“I know, I know. I have the looks of someone who would rather binge murder mysteries, but I’m trying to branch out.”
The grin you gave him made his heart stutter. “Well, I’d be more than happy to be your guide.”
Regulus had no idea why he hadn’t realized it sooner. Books—that was the gateway to your heart. He listened in fascination as you pulled books from the shelves, talking a mile a minute about your favorite authors, characters, and tropes. You lit up the entire room as you spoke, filling the place with your infectious energy. He had only ever seen you this way in the comfort of your own dorm, so he relished in the fact that he was witnessing this not as Shadow but as Regulus.
“Oh my god, I’ve been rambling. I’m so sorry. Once I start, I just can’t seem to stop.”
He smiled softly. Regulus could have listened to you talk about books for the rest of his life and never grow bored. “I don’t want you to stop. I like that you’re so passionate. It’s adorable.”
Suddenly, Regulus wished he had a camera because the sight of you smiling up at him was a memory that needed to be captured and immortalized. For now, he settled for its dizzying aftereffects.
“Thank you for letting me talk your ear off,” you said shyly as the two of you made your way to the counter.
“No, thank you for helping me expand my horizons.” Regulus countered as he set both of your books down.
You started to fish for your wallet, but Regulus simply waved you off. “Please, let me.” The shopkeeper gaped at him. “Would you mind putting everything on my tab?”
“Of course, Mr. Black.”
“Regulus is fine.”
“Sure thing Mr.—I mean, Regulus.”
As the shopkeeper carefully packed up the books, Regulus leaned in. “You can call me Reg, if you’d like. Reggie, if you’re feeling particularly brave.”
You beamed. “Thank you, Reggie.”
“You’re welcome, Y/N.”
The Monday after the breakthrough, Regulus marched into Charms with purpose. You glanced up in amusement as he settled into his seat.
“You were right. Your recommendations were fantastic. I read it all in one sitting.”
“Which one?” you asked curiously.
Back at the bookstore, you had gotten a little overzealous with the recommendations, but at the end, you managed to narrow it down to your absolute top picks.
“All of them.”
Your jaw nearly dropped. “You read all of them?”
Regulus shrugged as if it were no big deal. “Yes.”
“Every single book?”
“Mhm.”
“But I gave you six recommendations,” you stated incredulously. You considered yourself a voracious reader, but Regulus Black was giving you a run for your money.
“And I devoured every single one.”
As it turns out, that was all it took to unlock the floodgates. Soon your conversations flourished from books and literature to hobbies and future plans. Regulus could tell that you were warming up to him. The conversations that were once isolated to the Charms classroom flowed easily outside of it as well.
The first few times you were spotted together, it turned a few heads.
Regulus had never been particularly known for his sociability, so he supposed it was a rather strange sight for everyone else to find him practically glued to your side. Never mind that he’d done it a hundred times before as your Shadow and no one ever said a word about it back then. As he spotted you in your usual spot under the willow tree, he found that he really didn’t give a damn what anyone else thought of your newfound friendship.
“Is this seat taken?”
You nodded as you moved your belongings to make room for him. “Yes, by you.”
Regulus dropped his backpack by his feet before stretching his long legs out on the wooden bench. You watched in amusement as the wood creaked under his weight. “I prefer to be horizontal when I read. You don’t mind, do you?”
“Knock yourself out, Mr. Black.”
“That’s Regulus to you, love.”
“I thought it was Reg.”
“Actually, I prefer Reggie. But only if it’s being used by you.”
“Okay, Reggie.”
He couldn’t help the smile that tugged at the corner of his lips.
Despite spending time with you during the day, Regulus still made his visits in the night. He truly just couldn’t get enough. Thanks to his questionable methods, you were starting to open up to him more. Just that morning, the two of you ate breakfast together in the Great Hall. You teased him for eating such a bland meal.
“Honestly, Regulus. We attend a magical school. You could ask for anything your little heart desires and you choose to eat gruel?”
“It’s not gruel. It’s oatmeal.”
“My point exactly.”
“What’s wrong with oatmeal?”
“Nothing, I suppose. If you prefer eating cement for breakfast.”
“You’re awfully judgmental. Let’s take a closer look at your choices. A chocolate chip muffin? You might as well swallow a spoonful of sugar and call it a day.”
“My apologies, Mr. Black. I forgot that you abhor flavor. Shall we share your cement goop, then?”
“After you insulted my culinary preferences? I think not, Y/N.”
Needless to say, the two of you got along like a house on fire. Both of your friends constantly teased you about the newfound friendship. Regulus simply rolled his eyes and brushed off the comments, but even his mates noticed the way he smiled every time you were mentioned. You knew your friends were bursting at the seams with questions regarding Regulus, but to their credit, Ginny and Luna were happy seeing you happy.
Not everyone shared their enthusiasm though. Britt, in particular, was rather cross. It made no sense that someone like you would catch the attention of Regulus Black. She had harbored a crush on the youngest Black since third year and he could barely even spare her a glance, yet here you were receiving his full and undivided attention. Britt was seething with jealousy. She simply could not accept losing to you, of all people.
Perhaps you dosed Regulus with a love potion. Perhaps he pitied you, viewed you as some wounded animal to save. Either way, Britt was convinced that Regulus wasn’t meant to be with someone like you. A shy and quiet girl who could never hope to hold his attention for long. She just had to make Regulus see it. The perfect opportunity presented itself one Friday afternoon.
In the crowded hall, Regulus shielded you from the incoming traffic of students rushing to their next class. It wasn’t much of an effort on his part since your fellow classmates cowered and parted as soon as they caught sight of your companion’s scowl.
“Reggie, could you try not to scare the first years away?” You teased, bumping your hip against his. “Poor Anderson looked ready to cry when you glared at him.”
Regulus bumped you back. “He nearly stepped on your foot.”
“Did that really warrant you threatening to hide bullfrogs underneath his pillows?”
“You’re right, I’ve gone soft. I should’ve threatened him with fire serpents instead.”
“You’re hopeless, Regulus.”
Regulus placed a hand over his heart, feigning hurt. “You wound me, ma chérie.”
The nickname made you flush. Regulus had never been more thankful that French was his native tongue. The language of love certainly had its effect on you.
“However will you live?”
“I’ll tell you what, if you come keep me company tonight, then all will be forgiven.”
“I’m not helping you sneak bullfrogs into Anderson’s dorm.”
He pouted in response. “Fine. I suppose we can have a quiet night in. Come join the dark side. We can read together in the common room.”
“The dungeons?” You asked apprehensively.
Though you’ve gotten used to the occasional Slytherin greeting you in the halls, the whole lot of them still terrified you. You weren’t quite sure how you felt about marching right into the serpent’s nest.
“It’ll just be us,” Regulus added softly. “I’ll make sure of it.”
The way he eased your worries was endearing. You bumped his hip again. “You can’t just kick people out of their own common room.”
“I’m Regulus Black,” he said haughtily. “Of course I can.” Regulus draped an arm over your shoulder and leaned in to whisper conspiratorially. “Come on, I know you’re dying to read that new novel you bought last weekend.”
You rolled your eyes affectionately. He knew you too well. “You mean, the novel that you bought me. Against my will, thank you very much. I will pay you back.” Regulus started protesting, but you only held your hand up. “You’re right, though. I’m convinced. I’ll bring the snacks. Chocolate frogs for me and a bowl of gruel for you.”
You yelped as Regulus dug his fingers into your side. “It’s a date, love.”
Regulus paced back and forth, watching the door to the dungeons. To say he was nervous would’ve been an understatement.
As soon as classes were dismissed for the day, Regulus wasted no time. He raced back to the common room and made sure everything was perfect. The boys were taking the piss out of him, but he paid no mind to them as he fluffed the pillows and draped a blanket over the couch.
“Ooh, what type of candle is this?” Theo asked as he wrapped his grimy little fingers around the banana nut muffin scented candle.
Regulus smacked his friend’s hand away. “Don’t touch that.”
Mattheo snickered as he took in the scene before him. “You must really like this girl, Reg. I don’t think I’ve ever put in this much effort for a date.”
“Yeah, and how’s that working out for you?” Regulus snipped. Blaise and Pansy snorted in response.
Lorenzo bit back a smile. “I think it’s nice. Y/N will love it.”
“You think so?” Regulus asked absentmindedly. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect. The dungeons were a far cry from your dorm, but Regulus did his best to emulate the comfort it provided. “It’s not too much?”
“It’s a bit…cozy for my taste,” said Draco. Regulus fought the urge to throttle his cousin. To be fair, Draco hated anything that wasn’t French or expensive. “But I’m sure your girl will love it.”
“She’s not my girl,” Regulus corrected. “Not yet, at least.”
Tom shot a disinterested glance at him from the couch. “What on earth are you waiting for? You’ve been pining over her for months. Your yearning is starting to sicken me.”
Mattheo grimaced. “I think that’s Tom’s way of encouraging you to make a move.”
“Consider me encouraged,” Regulus said with an eye roll. “Now everyone get out.”
As his friends filtered out, Lorenzo patted him on the back. “Good luck, mate.”
Luck had nothing to do with it. Regulus refused to take his chances on such a finicky thing. He was far too resourceful to leave things up to chance. Instead, he compiled everything he’s learned about you to ensure that you wouldn’t feel overwhelmed.
At exactly six o’clock on the dot, Regulus opened the door to the dungeons. He smiled when he found you standing in the corridor, fidgeting with the hem of your sunflower dress. You clutched your book to your chest as he stepped through the threshold.
“Hi, Reg,” you greeted shyly.
“Hi, love.” Regulus offered his arm, which you gladly took. “Come on in.”
You weren’t sure what to expect at first, but you found the dungeons to be quite cozy. The waves from the Black Lake gently lapped against the stained glass windows, the murky waters shimmering across the onyx floors. The furnishings were all dark wood and harsh lines with pops of emerald tying everything together. The velvet couch was piled with pillows and candles illuminated the space, providing a warmth and coziness that you never would’ve attributed to the dungeons.
“This is quite lovely,” you said softly.
Regulus took your bag from you and set it gently on the marble side table. “I’m glad you think so.”
“Where’s everyone else?”
“Out,” Regulus responded. “If they’re smart, they’ll stay that way.”
You chuckled. “I guess it pays to be mean and scary.”
“To everyone else, yes.” Regulus said as he guided you over to the couch. “Not to you, though.”
The sentiment made you smile. “Well, big scary Reggie, thank you for inviting me over. As promised, I came bearing snacks.”
As you laid out a treasure trove of treats, Regulus watched with an amused smile. “For Salazar’s sake, I’m getting a cavity just looking at all of this candy.”
You grinned as you waved a sour gummy worm in the air. “But it’s good, though.” Regulus backed away from the neon colored candy with a grimace. “Come on, Reg. Try it.”
“No, thank you.”
“Please,” you pleaded, poking his cheek with the worm. “Just one little nibble. I know you want to.”
“You’re a terrible influence,” he sighed defeatedly.
Regulus leaned over, his lips brushing against your fingers as he took a small bite. You flushed furiously, heat prickling your skin as his emerald gaze pierced through you. From this close, you could make out the golden flecks swimming in his irises.
“It’s a bit sweet,” Regulus murmured. His eyes never left yours as he held your wrist in place, devouring what was left of the sour worm. “But I’ve grown an appetite for sweet things lately.”
Regulus licked flecks of sugar off of his lips, smirking when he caught you staring. You cleared your throat, eager to diffuse whatever tension was brewing between you. He tracked your movements as you retrieved your book and daintily perched yourself on the couch.
“Shall we?”
A comfortable silence befell the common room, broken only by the lulling crash of the waves against the windows. It baffled you how at ease you were in the dungeons. Usually, it took a bit of time for you to adjust to new environments, but something about this place seemed familiar. You felt safe here, thanks to the boy sitting beside you.
As you curled up on the sofa, Regulus assumed his position. He scooted towards you, placing his head on your lap and stretching his long legs out until they touched the other end of the couch. With a smile, you peered at him as he nuzzled against your free hand. Regulus sighed in satisfaction when you ran your fingers through his curls. The action reminded you of your little Shadow.
You had no idea how you hadn’t realized it sooner, but the two of them were similar in a lot of ways. They were both standoffish and prickly on the outside, but complete softies on the inside. The thought made you chuckle.
“What’s so funny?” Regulus murmured. Despite the fact that the two of you were supposed to be reading, his book remained perched on his stomach while his eyes fluttered close.
“It’s just hard to reconcile grumpy Regulus to the Regulus that practically begs for his head to be scratched.”
Regulus scoffed. “I do not beg.”
You placed your hand back in your lap. Regulus furrowed his brows as he glanced up at you. With a soft nudge to your side and a matching pout to boot, he single handedly proved your point. “Why’d you stop?”
The pointed look you gave him made Regulus flush. “Fine, I suppose I’m not above begging.”
You raised a brow, which only made him sigh in defeat. Regulus lifted your hand and placed it back atop his curls. “Please?”
“Only because you asked nicely, Reggie.”
The rest of the evening was blissfully peaceful as the two of you continued reading. Well, you were reading. Regulus, on the other hand, hadn’t even cracked open his book. You could feel the intensity of his gaze boring into you while you pretended to be engrossed in your novel.
“Do I have something on my face?” You asked self-consciously.
“No.”
“Then why are you staring?”
Regulus sat upright and faced you, his emerald eyes locking onto yours. His expression was soft as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear, knuckles brushing along your jaw.
“Because you’re beautiful.”
The air left your lungs as Regulus beheld you. The calluses on his thumb stroked your skin as he caressed your cheek. You shivered at his touch, at his scent, at his closeness. Regulus was like poetry come to life. A work of art that moved and breathed and mesmerized everyone around him. If anyone was beautiful, it was him.
“Reggie…”
The words died in your throat when Regulus brushed his thumb over your lips. “Y/N…”
Little by little, the gap closed between you. Anticipation swelled in the room, enveloping everything with unspoken tension. You felt like a harp string pulled taut, waiting for release. Just as Regulus tilted your head back, a loud smack echoed through the dungeons.
You nearly jumped out of your seat, but Regulus shielded you behind him, keeping you close. A stream of people made their way through the common room, trampling the once serene atmosphere. The commotion from earlier seemed to be coming from the large keg that Adrian Pucey was now rolling across the stone floor. The other Slythering began clearing the furniture, chattering excitedly amongst themselves.
Regulus was incensed. “What the fuck is going on?”
One by one, his friends streamed in. Blaise was the first to squeeze through the crowd. “Common room party, apparently. We ran here to warn you, but they were already rolling the kegs through the corridor before we caught up.”
Theodore and Mattheo pushed their way through a couple of fourth years. At their complaint, the two boys glared at them so intensely that they slowly started to back away.
“The fuck are you looking at?” Mattheo barked.
“Are you deaf or just thick? Get fucking lost, mate,” Theo added menacingly.
You flinched at the display of aggression. Regulus clocked the reaction and pulled you closer before frowning at his friends. Theodore elbowed Mattheo when he caught sight of you, who in turn elbowed Theodore back.
“Sorry about that, Y/N.” Theodore drawled, his Italian accent seeping through the words. “We didn’t see you there. Usually, we’re more well-behaved in the presence of a lady.”
“That’s a lie,” Pansy interjected. “You’re horrid around me all the time.”
“I’ve known you since we were in diapers, Pans. You’re certainly not a lady,” Theodore quipped.
“Why, you little twat—”
“Guys,” Regulus scolded.
Pansy stopped in her tracks, sighing as she put her hand down after landing a smack on the back of Theodore’s head. She offered her hand. “Right. Well, this isn’t how we thought our first introduction would go, but it’s nice to finally meet the infamous Y/N. Regulus talks about you all the time.”
You flushed as you took Pansy’s hand. “It’s nice to meet you too, Pansy.”
“Me next,” Theodore exclaimed. “Theodore Nott, at your service.”
The floppy haired boy bowed cheekily before taking your hand in his and kissing your knuckles. Regulus glared daggers at his friend, but you merely giggled in amusement.
“Move, Nott. It’s my turn now.” Mattheo smacked Theodore away and enveloped you into a hug. “Mattheo, the most handsome Riddle. Although don’t tell my brother that. He might hex me. Anyways, nice to meet you." He paused, sniffing your hair unabashedly. "Oh! Reg is right. You do smell nice.”
“Riddle,” warned Regulus.
Mattheo only winked at you before stepping aside. You exchanged introductions with Blaise and Draco next until Lorenzo caught up with the rest of the group. He gave you a warm hug before explaining that someone had printed out posters promoting a party that none of the Slytherins had any clue about. Of course, it didn’t take much convincing on his housemates' part before they jumped on the bandwagon, hence the packed common room.
“I’m so sorry,” Regulus said as he turned over to face you. “ I didn’t know any of this was happening.”
Worry marred his beautiful face. Though the situation was a little more than overwhelming, you didn’t want Regulus worrying on your behalf. It was touching, truly. But you could try to push through it.
“It’s okay, Reg. I’m fine, really.”
“We can leave,” he offered. “Find somewhere more quiet.”
“Already?” Mattheo asked, pouting. “But we haven’t even played butterbeer pong yet! Dibs on Y/N as my partner.”
“No fair! I was going to ask her,” Theodore said, shoving Mattheo. His curly headed friend shoved back, which only escalated into Theodore putting him into a headlock. You shook your head in amusement.
“Sorry to disappoint, but I have no idea how to play butterbeer pong.”
Mattheo slithered out of Theodore’s hold and beamed. “Oh, it’s easy. You just arrange a bunch of cups into a pyramid and then take turns shooting ping pong balls into them. Surely, you’ve handled balls before, right?”
The double meaning was not lost on the group. Regulus tensed, charging up to smack Mattheo into next week for the inappropriate joke, but your response stopped him in his tracks.
“I have,” you said softly. “Have you? Because it doesn’t seem like it from the way you kept missing the goalposts during the game last week.”
Mattheo gaped in shock before bursting into laughter. “Oh, she’s a keeper.”
“You’re lucky Y/N found that funny,” Regulus said to his friend. “Otherwise, I would’ve twisted your intestines into a bow for her.”
“Taking a page out of my brother’s book, I see,” Mattheo taunted.
“Is this a bad time to ask if you’ve ever had a body shot, Y/N?” Theo asked with feigned innocence. “If not, I’m more than willing to show you.”
Regulus reeled back and smacked Theo on the head while the rest of the group cackled. Theo rubbed the sore spot and grumbled. “A simple no would have sufficed.”
The more time you spent around them, the less intimidating they became. From what you gleaned, they seemed to be a tight knit group. It wasn’t at all what you expected from the Slytherins.
“Your friends are silly,” you whispered to Regulus as the group migrated to the couch.
In the background, Mattheo and Theodore bickered over who drank the last of the firewhisky while Lorenzo wiped the back of his mouth and burped. He winked when he caught your eye, charging you with keeping his secret.
“They’re idiots,” Regulus scoffed. His tone was contrasted by the softness in his eyes as he watched his friends muck about. “But they’re family.”
Throughout the night, you didn’t miss the way that Regulus fussed over you. He was a constant presence by your side, attuned and attentive to every need. When you felt parched, Regulus was there to offer you a drink. When you felt cold, Regulus draped his jacket over you without you needing to ask. He checked in with you often, making sure his obnoxious friends weren’t offending you and ensuring that the attention wasn’t too overwhelming to handle.
You assured him that you were fine. In fact, you were surprised to realize that you were enjoying yourself. It was a lot easier to deal with your social anxiety when you had someone there to ground you.
The Slytherins were a rather social bunch. Pansy was thrilled at the prospect of having another girl join the group. Within thirty minutes, she had talked you into going to Hogsmeade with her next weekend. She wanted a break from the boys, she said. But she also made it known that she expected a full rundown of the situation between you and Regulus.
Draco and Blaise were very clearly eavesdropping, despite their efforts to appear nonchalant. Apparently, everyone was as invested in your pairing as Pansy was. Theodore and Mattheo didn’t even try to hide the fact that they were talking Regulus up. When Mattheo declared that Regulus rescued an injured baby bird and nursed it back to health, you nearly lost it. Regulus hated birds.
“You’re an idiot,” Regulus exclaimed.
“No, let him talk. I want to hear all about it. What kind of bird was it, Mattheo?”
“Uh…the kind with wings?”
Lorenzo shook his head. “Really, mate? That’s the best you could come up with?”
The group continued their bantering as you watched in fascination. Their dynamic fascinated you. They bickered like siblings, but you could tell that they would go to the end of the world for one another. You could see why Regulus thought of them as family.
“Feeling okay?” Regulus asked, nudging you with his hip.
“Mhm,” you responded, bumping him back. “Thanks for inviting me over.”
“This isn’t what I had in mind when I did,” Regulus said. “But I’m still glad you came.”
“Of course, I had to see you in your natural habitat. I didn’t know you were such a party animal, Reggie.”
He grabbed hold of your waist and leaned down to whisper in your ear. “I preferred when the party was just you and me.”
You flushed, pitching forward to hide your face behind a curtain of hair. “I did, too.”
“When everyone leaves, I intend on picking up where we left off. You should know that I’m not the type of man who leaves things unfinished, love.”
There was no hiding the blush that blossomed on your cheeks. Crimson colored your features even as you excused yourself to the bathroom. As you washed your hands in the sink, you studied your reflection. While you would always feel the lingering social anxiety that came from being in large crowds, you thought that tonight was going fairly well. With a smile, you made your return back to the Regulus.
“I don’t know who you’re fooling, Y/N.” Britt sneered at you as she leaned against the wall, a cigarette held haphazardly between her neon painted fingers.
You frowned. “What are you talking about, Britt?”
“Regulus may have fallen for your shy and sweet little act, but he’ll get sick and tired of you dragging him down sooner or later.”
A lump formed in the pit of your stomach. Though it was no secret that Britt wasn’t exactly a fan of yours, you hadn’t expected her to say such hurtful things. Even worse, she touched a nerve with her words.
Britt nodded pointedly towards the crowd. “Look at him. He can’t even enjoy himself without worrying about poor, helpless little Y/N.”
Regulus towered over everyone, cutting an imposing figure in the middle of the room. His eyes darted through the crowd, seemingly searching for someone. Perhaps it was the reality of seeing the worry in his features, his half-distracted responses to whatever Lorenzo was saying as he stood stoic, unable to partake in conversation because he was too busy looking for you. Worrying about you. However horrid Britt was, you realized that there was merit to her words.
The last thing you wanted was to hold Regulus back. You didn’t want him worrying about babysitting you instead of having fun with his friends, which is exactly what he was doing now. The thought made you sad. Sure, Regulus was fine with catering to your needs now, but he was bound to tire of it sooner or later. You didn’t want to find out how long it would take.
You didn’t want to be a burden to anyone. Most of all, Regulus.
Without a word, you passed by Britt and weaved your way through the room. You stuck to the alcoves, passing beneath its shadowy refuge until the door came to view. Only a few steps stood between you and your escape when a low, stern voice stopped you in your tracks.
“Y/N,” said Tom Riddle. “Leaving early, are we?”
“Oh, hi there Tom,” you mumbled, casting your gaze towards the floor. You were afraid that you’d cry if you stayed in the dungeons a second longer. “M’just not feeling very well.”
You could feel his observant gaze sweeping over you. “I imagined you wouldn’t after encountering that hag outside of the bathroom.”
“You saw that?” You asked in a small, defeated voice.
Finally, you deigned to look up and found Tom staring at you. As always, the eldest Riddle was cold and stoic, but there was something in his gaze that conveyed concern.
“Yes, and I heard it too.”
“Please, can you—can you just not tell Reggie?”
Tom’s expression was imperceptible besides his curt nod. “If that’s what you prefer. I’ll let him know you left early because you weren’t feeling well.”
“Thank you, Tom.”
You bid him a good night before reaching for the door. Behind you, Tom cleared his throat.
“For the record, that hag doesn’t know what she’s talking about. You’re not dragging Regulus down. If anything, you’ve made the twat more tolerable over these past few weeks.”
Before you could respond, Tom was gone. You barely caught a glimpse of his back as he climbed the stairs that led to the dormitories. The parting surprised you, but you figured that Tom probably just felt bad for witnessing the conversation between you and Britt.
Casting a last glance towards the common room, you spotted Regulus once again.
Softly, you whispered, “Bye, Reggie.”
Once you were back in your dorm, you showered and decided to turn in for the night. It was just a few minutes shy of midnight as you tossed and turned in bed. Your roommate was most likely still at the party, leaving you to ponder your thoughts alone. There was an air of restlessness in the room as you stared up at the ceiling and considered your predicament.
No matter which way you looked at it, there was only one solution. You had to end your friendship with Regulus.
The thought filled you with overwhelming sadness. Letting go of Regulus made you feel so isolated and alone, but you knew it was the right thing to do. As though sensing your need for comfort, Shadow slinked through your door and hopped right into your lap. The black cat stared up at you with knowing eyes and meowed.
“At least I can count on you to always keep me company,” you murmured softly as you scratched under Shadow’s chin. “It’s been a rough night.”
Shadow bumped his head against your hip, seemingly telling you to stop feeling sorry for yourself.
“Britt is right, Shadow,” you confessed. “I’m just not the type of girl Regulus should be with.”
The cat bumped you again, stomping his feet on the bed in frustration. Shadow gave you a rather argumentative meow.
“Oh, don’t give me that. We both know it’s true. Reggie is Reggie and I’m…well, I’m me.”
Shadow hissed in response, demanding your attention. You sighed as you pulled the cat into your lap. “It’s a shame,” you whispered against his dark fur. “I really like him.”
To your surprise, Shadow purred softly and cuddled against your side. Though the feral little cat had taken a liking to you and your dorm, Shadow was always usually gone in the morning. Tonight though, the cat curled up next to you as though it knew that this was what you needed.
“Good night, Shadow.”
Regulus knew it was reckless.
But after Tom informed him of your sudden illness, suspicion rose in him like a tide. Even if you weren’t feeling well, it wasn’t like you to leave so abruptly, which meant that something was definitely wrong. All of his suspicions were confirmed when he got to your dorm.
It broke his heart to hear you say that you weren’t right for him. How could such a thought even cross your mind? There had never been anyone more perfect to him than you. Didn’t you know that you were the first person Regulus looked for in a room full of people? Couldn’t you tell how head over heels he was for you? His sweet, sassy, shy, sunshine of a Hufflepuff. There was no one better.
Certainly not Britt. Regulus was well aware of the crush she had on him. At first, he simply ignored it. He had absolutely no interest in someone as foul and loathsome as that girl, but now that she had come after you, Regulus had half a mind to sink his teeth and claws into her ankles until he drew blood.
At the moment, his plot for revenge was set aside as he focused on comforting you. Up until this point, Regulus had always been careful not to fall asleep in your dorm because he never knew when he was going to switch back, but tonight, he was willing to risk it. He didn’t know if this would be the last time you ever spoke to him given what you confessed earlier.
Perhaps it was selfish of him, but he didn’t want the night to end. Regulus wasn't ready to face the prospect of you ending things, so he snuggled into your side and fell asleep to the sound of your heartbeat.
It was a choice that would certainly have its consequences in the morning.
The first thing that woke him up was not the sunlight streaming through your windows or the chirping of the birds, but instead your surprised yelp. Regulus blinked sleepily, rubbing his paw against his snout, but instead bumped his hand into his nose.
This was not good.
This was definitely not good.
You were on the other side of the bed, blankets pulled up over your chin as you stared at him in disbelief.
“Reggie? What—what are you doing here?”
Regulus was an idiot. A stupid, careless idiot.
But none of that mattered now.
“Don’t end our friendship.”
You reeled back in surprise. “I—what—what’s even happening—”
“Don’t end our friendship,” Regulus said once more. “Fuck, it’s not even a friendship. You and I both know it’s so much more than that.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I’m not going to get bored of you. Never in a million years would I ever get bored of you. In the months that I’ve gotten to know you, not once have I ever stopped feeling drawn in. I want to know everything about you, Y/N. Even though you tell me everything without realizing it, I still want to know more. I want to listen to you talk about your books and hold your hand when you’re overwhelmed and follow you all around the castle like I’ve been doing all along.”
You were speechless as Regulus continued. “Tom told me that you weren’t feeling well last night. I knew it was a lie, so I had to come and see for myself. I had to make sure you were okay, even if you didn’t know it was me.” He sighed, closing his eyes. “But then you said you wanted to end our friendship and I just—I was selfish. I should’ve gone back to my dorm, but I didn’t know if last night was the last time you’d ever speak to me and I just couldn’t bring myself to leave.”
Realization dawned over you. Pieces of the puzzle started clicking into place. “You’re—you—you’ve been Shadow this whole time?”
Regulus nodded guiltily. “I understand if you’re angry with me, but please know that I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I found your dorm by accident that first night and I don’t know. I just kept coming back. You just kept drawing me back.”
He bowed his head and ran a hand through his curls. “I realize you might hate me after this, but you have been the best part of my day since I accidentally stumbled into your dorm and I think—no, I know that I’ve fallen for you.”
You blinked in disbelief, still processing his confession. “So you’ve been…you this whole time? You knew everything I’ve ever said to Shadow. You listened to me vent and rant, thinking I was just talking to a cat.” You paused as something niggled at your brain. “When we first ran into each other at the bookstore, did you already know I was going to be there?”
Regulus didn't deny it. “I did. I also already read all of the books on your shelves in advance on the off chance that you might mention it in class. I didn't really need help in charms, that was just an excuse to spend more time with you and I...I bought the same candles and blankets you like so you'd be comfortable in the common room. I learned all of that by listening to you, by spying on you, and I'm sorry. I’m so fucking sorry —"
His apology was cut short as you surged forward to kiss him. Regulus was stunned for a moment as your lips met, but it didn’t take long for him to reciprocate. One arm slid around your waist to pull you closer while the other cradled your cheek. His kisses were hungry, like he was a man awaiting the gallows and you were his final meal. It was full of passion, the longing and yearning evident as he gorged himself on the taste of you.
Coming up for air, Regulus finally opened his pretty emerald eyes and looked at you. His gaze pierced through your skin, raw and vulnerable. “You’re not mad at me?”
“Are you kidding? That’s the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for me.” Regulus sighed in relief, pressing his forehead against yours. “Plus, how can I be mad when you make such a cute little kitty?”
Regulus laughed, the sweet, melodious sound filling the room. You brushed his curls back and grinned. “For the record, I’ve fallen for you too.”
“That’s a relief. My friends have been pestering me on finally making a move for months. Pansy cornered me last night and lectured me on asking you to be my girlfriend before you realize that you’re too good for me.”
“I think I like Pansy.”
“Don’t tell her that,” Regulus groaned. “She’ll definitely try to steal you away from me.”
“I don’t think you’ll have any trouble with that.”
“Good, I don’t want Parkinson getting any ideas about running off with my girlfriend.”
You raised a brow. “Oh, I’m your girlfriend now?”
“Girlfriend. Love of my life. Apple of my eye. Take your pick, mon cœur.”
“I’ll take all of the above, boyfriend.”
Later that morning, after much cuddling and kissing, you and Regulus finally decided to head to the Great Hall for breakfast. You smiled as he held your hand, bumping your hip as the two of you walked through the corridors. It was strange how at ease you felt. You were vaguely aware of the eyes that trailed your every move, but they quickly blended into the background when Regulus pulled you close and kissed your cheek.
Luna and Ginny perked up at the sight of you, surprise marring their faces when they spotted Regulus at your side. Their eyebrows raised to the skies, pointedly staring at your linked fingers.
Later, you mouthed. You had a hell of a lot of explaining to do, but your friends merely smiled and nodded.
“Finally,” Pansy announced exasperatedly. She patted the seat next to her as you shyly slipped in. “I was beginning to think that we’d have to scheme to get the two of you together.”
“No need,” you said with a smile. “I think we took care of that on our own.”
Regulus smiled and nuzzled against your shoulder. The boys flashed him shit-eating grins, but he didn’t seem to notice. “Stop scaring my girlfriend away, Pans.”
“Oh, is it girlfriend now? It’s about time. I’ve only listened to you pine and yearn for months.”
“Excuse her,” Blaise said. “She’s just happy to have another girl in the group.”
“Damn right I am. I’m tired of spending so much time with you heathens.” Pansy patted your shoulder. “I hope you’re in the market for new friends, because you’re not getting rid of me now. My first act of friendship will be to determine whether or not to hex that little trollop for glaring at you. Do you know that girl, Y/N?”
You turned and found Britt frowning at you with her arms crossed. “It’s alright, Pansy. She’s not worth it.”
At the same moment, Tom sauntered through the aisles. Once he reached Britt, he cut her a glare that would paralyze a basilisk. She cowered back and made a hasty retreat.
Tom merely continued walking before taking a seat next to Mattheo. “So, that hag, “ he says in a no-nonsense tone. “Would you like me to take care of her?”
You glanced at the group in concern. “What exactly does taking care of her mean?”
Mattheo’s curly head popped up from his plate. “Oh, he means he’ll feed her to his snake.”
You laughed at the jest, but Tom remained stone-faced. He was obviously just kidding. Right?
“He’s dead serious,” Theo added. “I’ve seen him do it before.”
With a gulp, you turned back to Tom. “That won’t be necessary, Tom. Please don’t feed Britt to your snake.”
Tom shrugged as though you were discussing the weather. “Suit yourself.”
When everyone returned to their morning banter, you turned to Regulus. “What have I gotten myself into?”
Regulus smiled and pecked your lips. “You know, I considered clawing her ankles off, but I think Tom’s way will be much quicker.”
“Regulus Black.” You scolded, though it wasn’t entirely convincing given the grin you were biting back.
“It’s Reggie to you, love.” You stared at him pointedly, which only made him sigh dramatically. “Fine, Tom’s snake will not have a new snack, but only because I have a saint for a girlfriend.”
“And I have a devious little sinner for a boyfriend.”
Regulus smirked. “I’ll make sure to worship at your altar for penance.”
You rolled your eyes, but couldn’t help but blush as Regulus laid his head down on your shoulder once more. You ran your fingers through his curls, smiling to yourself when he let out a satisfied hum that sounded awfully close to a purr.
Can you feed us some soft gojo headcanons pleaseee 🥺💕💕
He’s such a precious pookie bear who was burdened with the responsibility of saving the world since birth, shoulders all of the missions himself mostly since he’s “the strongest” and has been weaponized and only seen for his strength throughout his life and till death…
HE DESERVES LOVE!!! 😭❤️
ofc ofc 🥺🥺 idk why but reading pookie bear made me think of gummy bear and then my mind went to strawberry shortcake (???) …..anyway so here are some baker!gojo headcanons bc why not
baker!gojo is cinnamoroll personified…. he owns a baby blue & milky white color-coded little bakery in the city. it’s one of those small business you see sandwiched between two larger buildings but the lines of people wanting to taste his sweet treats extend all the way down the block
baker!gojo’s specialty dessert is kikufuku mochi ofc :33 and also maybe like…. cinnamon rolls . im so original huh
baker!gojo has, you guessed it, a MAJOR sweet tooth. he has a little window peeking into his kitchen so the kiddos can see what he’s baking and they always catch him dipping his fingers into any unused batches of frosting or licking the mixture spoons before he tosses them into the sink to be washed
baker!gojo has such a wide and unique selection of confections. he starts baking pretty early in the morning so that he can put some fresh desserts up in display cases by the windows— those are his main attractions, after all !! and there’s something soothing about baking when the shop is empty and the sun is rising, it’s so… serene
baker!gojo is also very attractive. men and women walk into his shop every day just to flirt with him. he doesn’t have a ring finger on, he always has time to bake so much food— clearly he’s single! every time someone bats their lashes at him and slides the tips of their fingers over the countertop, he gently brushes them off with a subtle rejection; even going as far as offering them free dessert samples to mend the potential disappointment. after all, if a customer leaves without a smile on their face, he didn’t do a good enough job
baker!gojo who is soooo adamant about focusing on building up his little bakery and not having any time for relationships; but that all practically goes out the window as soon as that little bell above the door chimes when you walk inside for the first time. when you stride over to the display case and meticulously consider each of the cake options he has for sale, a finger absentmindedly tapping against your chin while you do
baker!gojo gently clears his throat, putting on his most charming smile, ignoring the weird flutter in his heart when you met his gaze with a sweet smile of your own. possibly the sweetest thing in the whole bakery
“hi there! is this your first time stopping by?”
they're so cute 🥺💕
