And here is my original concept. I still like it, but it was cute instead of having the intimidation factor is needs to really feel like the mechanical hound of the book. So I started over with a different design.

Oh my freaking god. I've finally found this again. The inspiration for my redesign for this doggo.

Finally, the inspiration can be put next to this drawing. It only took how many years and a completely coincidental tumblr dive.
