Sword of Many Horrors
Swordtember, Day 6: Horror. (the prompts I'm doing this year: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/VJk3x8 )
Felt like switching up the style to 2.5 bit and larger canvas this time. Kinda happy with how this turned out, but it's far from my favorite this year.
I have a story in this! The show is basically Swordtember the podcast and all ad revenue raised goes to the US National Center for Transgender Equality – so each time you listen, a trans person gets a sword I think? I think that's how it works.
The full list of contributors is at the link and it's shockingly good, I'm very excited to be part of the same project as all these fine folks! Special shout out to producers Tal @starplanes and Ezra J Wayne, who built this entire thing in the cracks between bigger projects and still went over and above with cool extras like unique episode artwork for each story 🤩

New audio drama? New audio drama!
Swordtember is a podcast this year*
It's called Of The Sword. There'll be an episode every day in September – each one is a short story with a unique sword through its heart. It's produced by Tal Minear (of Someone Dies In This Elevator) and Ezra J. Wayne. And I wrote one of the stories, Driving The Point Home; it'll be the episode released on 19 September!
If you can't wait til then, you can get all Of The Sword episodes early and ad-free by donating to Tal's Ko-fi. All cash raised goes to The National Center for Transgender Equality:
Of the Sword isn't popping up in searches in all the podcast apps just yet (too fresh!), but you should still be able to subscribe by copying and pasting the feed address into the search bar: https://feeds.megaphone.fm/ofthesword
For the full episode list and transcripts, head to the Of The Sword website:
*As well as the usual art-prompt Swordtember, not instead of!
Swordtember has begun and so has Of The Sword, the daily sword-based microfiction podcast!
Forging swords out of stardust is a skill reserved to the most skilled artificers and wizards, as they require a good deal of skill and magic, as well a spark of the divine. However, it is also possible to obtain such a weapon by contacting entities from beyond the stars. This tends to lead to a pact, or maybe some exchange of sorts. However, these entities can be capricious, and their understanding of wealth and riches is entirely alien. Their requests often seem completely incomprehesible.
First sword for Swordtember! Starting out with Cosmic, a sword made out of crystal and a miniature black hole, all bound up by a constellation. I have a masterlist of my Swordtember pics, check out this post! (This one is has been bought by @knightcallie !!!)
