Meanwhile in Lanling:

Jin Guangyao: "Pull the lever Xue Yang!"

Jin Guangyao, dripping wet after climbing out of a hidden underground lake in Koi Tower: "Why do we even HAVE that lever?"

Also, for your entertainment, Jingyi and Sizhui (with the encouragement of their ghost gege) locking Jin Guangyao in a broom closet somewhere in the Cloud Recesses and pretending they know nothing about it. And Jingyi alone might have been suspicious but if Sizhui's involved they couldn't have possibly gone into trouble!

Lan Qiren falls for it. Lan Wangji remembers who Sizhui's Other Parent is and doesn't believe them for a second but he has reached his don't-give-a-fuck stage so he says nothing. Also his guqin is giggling in the background so he absolutely knows who came up with the whole scheme in the first place.

Overheard at a Sect Conference:

Su She: "Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other sects?"

Any Lan within earshot: "You don't need my help with that Sect Leader Su."

Su She: "Exactly!"
