St. Paisios - Tumblr Posts

i’m not a bot! and neither am i a reddit refugee!

i am just a woman born in 1997; it wasn’t in california but that’s where i am now.

i’ve been sporadically using tumblr since i was 15 but i wanted to start this fresh because the fandom posts from my teenage years were haunting me. my formatting really is trash because i’m on mobile for the most part. please forgive.

my url is vagabomzh because bomzh (бомж) means vagabond in russian. <3

One day, five young men, seeing many people around a monk, approached and began making critical remarks,

"You monks are lazy..."

"You are right," replied the Saint.

"We are vagabonds and anarchists," they continued, "Which is why we have beards and long hair."

"I, too, have a beard and long hair - for Christ. I, too, am a vagabond - but for Christ," he responded.

As Health Comes From Bitter Medicine, So Too Does Salvation Of Souls Come From Bitter Experience.

“As health comes from bitter medicine, so too does salvation of souls come from bitter experience.”

“So in every tribulation, let us say, ‘Thank you, my God, because this was needed for my salvation.’”

For Love To Grow, It Must Be Given. A Person Who Does Not Give Even The Little Love That He Has Is Like

For love to grow, it must be given. A person who does not give even the little love that he has is like a foolish farmer who clenches a handful of seeds, unwilling to sow them, and yet expects a harvest.

☦︎ Saint Paisios of Mount Athos
