"Woah- wait a sec! Before you leave- I.. uh- ..whatever, take this, please! I really enjoy our time together and was wondering if maybe you'd like to get dinner sometime?" Seth watched silently from a safe distance away, a pang of something unfamiliar squeezing his heart as the new hire at your job handed you what looked like a torn-off piece of paper. He had been waiting here. All day. It was a rare day when he wasn't busy dealing with orders or having to 'prepare' stock for future ones. A day that was perfect for watching his treasure- and maybe... getting to talk to them as well... The thought of talking to you made his heart buzz, brain bursting with serotonin as a tingly feeling spread across his skin. But then the afterthought of somehow doing something to make you dislike him immediately doused his happiness, anxiety slithering up his spine. So he settled on watching from afar. It was easier that way- so he didn't scare you away with his lack of social skills.
He watched you as you got to work, he watched you deal with customers, and now... he's watching someone give you their number..? "Huh? Oh! .... don't mind .... number... but...like...okay...?" He saw you say something back to the new hire, the both of you moving just far enough that he could only grasp onto tiny scraps of information. Frustrating.
Fortunately or unfortunately, Seth could clearly see the pink tint shyly decorating the person's face. Something clearly caused because they were around you. An amalgamation of color swathed onto a messy pile of pulsating flesh. The sight caused his chest to heave erratically, pained breaths stuttering in and out. A heavy feeling pooling in his stomach as he took in this visceral scene.
... What ...was this? The sudden difficulty breathing, that strange pain coiling around his intestines. No... he shouldn't ruin today, it would go away eventually anyway. He just needed to stop thinking about it. "...see you tomorrow then!" The carefree smile you carried with you out of the building and the little goodbye wave you gave to that... person, made his skin itch. An itch he couldn't scratch away, he learned, after trying just that. A feeling that lurked just below his skin, traveling up his arms and burrowing deep inside his chest. It's fine... It'll go away. It'll go away, right?

D-did he get sick? It had been days now. Seth had stopped by your work a couple of times. And each time he saw that thing... it made the pressure in his chest almost unbearable.
They made his skin feel slimy. The uncomfortable feeling growing stronger, his gut writhing in the sticky feeling trying to coat his insides a nauseating black. But he couldn't be sick. He looked up the symptoms days ago. No results. It just didn't make sense. This dark, sickly feeling that fogged up his brain. Every waking moment consumed by the memory of them giving you their number. He just wanted it gone.
The thing that squeezed the blood from his heart and coiled around his chest like a snake. And so he made a decision.
Cold eyes glanced down at the gagged heap of meat on the ground. "Finally... you could've woken up the whole neighborhood with all that crying earlier." Every muffled noise of pain worked like a cure to his 'illness'.
Every broken bone scratched the itch he couldn't reach before. The sight of that tumor finally bleeding out, its body lifeless as he dragged it away, the hollow eyes looking up at him as he threw it away into the garbage. All of it eased the pain in his chest. Cleansing his body of the rotting slime devouring him from the inside out.

"Huh? Oh! Well.. I mean- I don't mind sharing my number with you, ...but I would just like to remain friends. That should be okay, right?" "O-oh.. yeah, that's fine! Sorry, I just wanted to try my shot, haha." "There's way more fish out in the sea! I'll see you tomorrow then!" The memory from two weeks ago made your hand pause for a moment. But you quickly returned to putting up missing person signs around your work. Where did they go?
