Okay but actually, the amount of times Cas said "I would do anything for you not to have to do this, Dean" or "I would do anything for this not to happen to you, Dean" or something along those lines in just the first few episodes of season 4 is just killing me like what the actual heck, how can these two be perceived as "platonic bros"?
Okay but 6x4 was something else. A freaking rollercoaster if I've ever seen one, mate.
early seasons destiel was such a moment. cas appears in a barn after yelling incoherently at dean in a gas station and his hotel room, then proceeds to tell dean his greatest secrets, eyefuck him within an inch of his life, call sam an abomination, explode a few light fixtures for effect, and disappear… and the fandom was like oh yeah baby that’s romance!
