haven’t finished it yet because finals but you’re so right on this one dude, the whole thing always rubbed me the wrong way and everyone would always say “he just loves his wife and wants her back!” okay? you can grieve without committing mass murder of innocents… the eagerness to jump to cruelty and violence whenever something bad happens is not cute behaviour… that’s just genuine evil

Okay the one thing that irks me about Netflix’s Castlevania is how it gives Dracula a happy ending. I don’t think he deserves it.

Dude was responsible for the death of countless men, women and children. He retaliated because the Church wronged him, but the rest of Wallachia didn’t.

“There are no innocents, any one of them could’ve stood up and said no, we won’t behave like animals anymore”

That’s all well and good except that if anyone HAD stood up and said that, the Church would have violently silenced them. The people weren’t at fault, and they didn’t deserve to die. Dracula meanwhile, had access to knowledge and sciences that would help bring people away from violent religious dogma and superstition, but he chose not to share it. He was in a position to make humanity better, but his misanthropy outside of Lisa prevented him from even trying. Dracula is at fault for his actions, and I really don’t think he deserved to get off scottfree for it.
