In my headcanon Link and Sonic have a Senpai - Kouhai relationship in which they swap "roles" constantly. It can also be either platonic or romantic. Originally just a mindless doodle, but then I got super into it and turned it into a full illustration. Also the title is a reference to a song made by Junichi Kanemaru (Sonic's seiyuu)

Also the audio talks about how shipping two characters who are basically lovers is boring and the real deal is shipping two characters who have absolutely nothing to do with each other and that is SO TRUE (Sonic x Link FTW!!!)
There is something liberating in saying "no one else is writing this and no one else is reading this, so I don't need to worry about quality as long as I make it and like it"
(which is easier said than done. But it helps)
