I have a headcanon that the twins are actually pretty good with medical stuff - tending wounds, making stitches, etc. I like to think that since they've gotten themselves into trouble so much times, they had to learn these stuff by trying different methods on themselves. I think they function as sort of healers at the Edge - after all, Gothi isn't there with them. Someone from the gang has to take that job and the twins seem perfect for it in my opinion.

This could be one of those instances where Fishlegs’ “may have read a thing or two” but it turns out he hasn’t put much focus on human healing so much as dragon healing, as he rarely allowed himself to get too hurt as a child. Astrid also comes with her fair share of knowledge… though it’s more through bits and pieces of experience. She was never one to focus on the healing part of battle so much as the ‘avoid getting hurt next time’ part.
Hiccup’s pretty good with burn care but, like Fishlegs, never dedicated too much time to the healing arts. Too much else to focus on. And Snotlout… if you’d ever ask him he “does the hurting, not the healing”.
So I love the idea that the Twins are surprisingly knowledgable about wound care through both necessity and their own curiosities. Oh, hey, I recognize the color of that puss–yeah, you’re gonna want to bandage it with this plant… and …don’t get that wet, it’ll make it worse (wait, on second thought)…
And when they’re on the nip they occasionally make some great advances in medicine
Ruffnut and Tuffnut + Bonding
Ruffnut and Tuffnut can sense pain areas in each other’s body. When Ruffnut pulls a muscle in her hamstring, Tuffnut feels a dull ache in the same area. If Tuffnut has a stiff back, Ruffnut feels a similar muted sensation.
Those are the areas they target on each other when they deliver ‘uncalled for’ attacks. It’s their way of giving each other a Viking Massage. It’s their way of reminding each other they’re still connected.

Tbh httyd had lots of great characters. But my favourite would need to boil down to the gang. I csnt choose between any of them because they are all different personalities i would wish for in my own friends circle
But inside the gang i would choose hiccstrid as my favourite for being a role model, with hiccup giving second chances and to become better at being snarky, and also i relate to alot of his impuslive decisions(im adhd,) and astrid for helping me with my confidence and determinstion and dedication
Ngl i relate to snotty boi the most, dramatic, sometimes a compulsive liar (like lying im busy studying so i dont need to hang out with classmates and i can binge rtte again), helpful when needed, an author, lazybag etc.
Ruff amd tuff helped me be more carefree and crazy (i love making a mess but i dont like clesning it up lmao)
Fishlegs helped me find my interest in random facts, like buddy sign me tf when we can inspect dragon scales and identify genders and species. Im a nerd okay shush
