Something that I think is so important in steven universe but i see absolutely nobody talk about is the fact that each gem type shares a voice actress.

All pearls are voiced by Deedee Magno Hall (even volley ball which surprised me

All ruby's are voiced by Charlyne Yi, including our beloved main ruby

The lapis lazuli's are voiced by Jennifer Paz

And of course, others, including Michaela Dietz (as the Amethysts) and Amy Sedaris (as the Zircons) + possibly more but you get my point

The reason this is so important is because in the su future episode, Rose Buds, we're introduced to the unbubbled rose quartzes. For those who don't know the leader of the crystal gem, rebellion was a diamond who assumed a fake identity as a rose quartz.

Throughout the episode, steven and the crystal gems are freaking out about the uncanny resemblance until the end of the episode where the rose quartzes and steven realise that instead of being another version of pink diamond to each other they're more akin to siblings .

For me, the immediate most noticeable thing is that the actual rose quartzes have a completely different voice actor (Kimberley brooks) than rose/pink diamond (Susan Eagan)

Which makes sense because pink was only pretending to be a rose quartz. But still throughout stevens arc in steven universe he's battling with idea that he IS his mum yet the simple fact that they have a different voice actor immediately disproves that. And to have that final nail in the coffin that no matter how alike they are they still aren't her and she isn't one of them. Idk if I've explained this well so feel free to add your thoughts but its amazing how it goes unmentioned yet is noticeable when you think about it. Sorry if this sounds stupid idk
