I've always appreciates that the women you draw don't ever feel like they are made to fit "the male gaze". It is so refreshing to see art that feels like it's for other queer women. Do you have recommendations for making art specifically for queer women? Especially when it comes to nsfw art I want to create content specifically for lgbtqai+ people
I think it's actually very easy to do because anything that isn't two Barbie dolls looking over their shoulder as they go to town on each other with less than 100% enthusiasm will attract thoes who aren't interested in that bland male gaze kind of thing.
I mean my main personal cornerstone is definitely age, I draw a lot of women over 35,40,50 and look like it and that is so removed from the idea of what the male gaze finds attractive but when I do draw someone in their 20s I'm still including things like, belly fat, hair, skin folds, clothes that aren't skin tight, gender expressions other than ultra feminine, things that separate it further from the male gaze 'norm'
something I recommend is really just try and draw what you want, what's hot, what did that last TV or film that you watch totally not see the potential in. don't draw what you think others /want/ to see, the only thing you know for certain is what you want to see, so draw that and it will draw the people who think like you towards you and it's a lovely moment. and while drawing for yourself is the most important in terms of keeping sane about your art, people telling me I'm inside their heads after I draw something I've never seen before has proved to me so many times there's always someone else out there with the same feelings as you and I love it.
and as a queer woman who talks to other queer women, sure we love tits and ass but I also love collarbones, hip fat, inner thighs, wrists, necks, shoulder blades, knuckles, and so I think any time I proristise thoes over a clevage shot, or include them into a lovely picture of a butt, something clicks for others who like women in the same I do. you need to not follow what you think nsfw /should/ be but rather what you want it to be, there's a lot of bland porn out there that's the norm and people wanting to start to draw nsfw can get trapped in thinking that's what everyone wants or that's just how porn is drawn.
