picked up Pokémon X again after not touching it for like a year, only 1 badge in. I’ve got the next 3 badges now, I don’t have a dedicated Surf Pokémon, so I go “ hey, I like Chinchou, and Chain fishing exists! I’ll get a shiny Chinchou. I head it’s not that bad of a shiny method, I can do it!”

Its been like 5 hours, and I then I get this purple cunt

okay, sure! I’ll keep going, but this purple fish can be my surf user for the time being.

And then I go to the box

THEY ALL HAVE FUCKING POKERUS

AjjsgahGHHSGHHH isn’t that like 1 in 21000?

I’ve done maybe 200 chain fishing encounters. Maybe.

To say I am freaking it is an understatement. I am being tied up slammed into the mental hospital can Mrs. Puff style to this information. I got up at 8 pm today and this is my reward. I will not sleep until I get my shiny Chinchou, but FUCK MAN HOW IS THIS FOR REAL

This Freaking Game

I just need to rant about Cure Mode in Plague Inc.

I'm trying to clear all the diseases on Mega-Brutal difficulty, and it's...an experience. Bacteria and virus? Not too bad, just destroy the infection rate as much as possible and make the vaccine quickly enough. Parasite? Pretty similar, just watch out for poor countries. They're difficult, but there are reliable strategies in place for these three disease types.

And then you get to the fungus. Oh boy, the fungus. Talk about a difficulty spike. There are still strategies here, but it's much more punishing. If you don't shut down everything and get the micron air filters as quickly as possible, just give up. If you don't have the funds for noncompliance reductions, just give up. But again, it's not impossible. What is your reward for vanquishing the fungus?

The prion. It's even more ridiculous. Its lethality is just about 100% right off the bat (though it doesn't start killing right away), and it's useless to try to reduce it. All you can do is scramble to keep people calm as they watch everyone around them die. It's also stupidly infectious, so even though it doesn't have spore bursts like the fungus, you will need to lock down every continent on Earth just to keep things vaguely under control. (I'm still struggling with this one; I've only succeeded on Normal so far.) What's after this?

The nanovirus (the other one that''s giving me trouble). You need to be fast in tracking it down and developing the kill code for it. Otherwise, don't bother trying to salvage your run. Just restart. If you don't want your Authority to completely tank, you need to take every single measure possible in keeping people calm--including directly hacking their emotions. Its infection rate is also crazy, and even though it isn't prion levels of lethal, its lethality can get overwhelming. What could possibly come after this?

You've got the fair and balanced bioweapon as the finale (discounting special stuff like the frozen virus). You want to make a vaccine for the bioweapon just like the others? You want to demolish its infection rate with stuff like hand-washing and PPE packages? Too bad. Too freaking bad. Both its infection rate and its lethality ramp up with every single new country it infects, so if you take more than two seconds to track it down, everyone's getting infected and killed. The only effective strategies I've seen involve waiting for all the infected to die and kill off the bioweapon in the process. "All the infected" can range from "a sizable portion of South America" to "literally 99.9% of the entire global population."

I haven't tried anything beyond the bioweapon yet (except for Disease X to farm all the advisors), but if they're anything like the prion...nope.

A Crown of Candy

I literally just finished ACOC just a moment ago and I couldn't wait to write about it. Holy shit, I fucking loved this season. There were a couple of times where I was nearly crying along with some of the PCs.

First of all, this has been the first time I have witnessed a full character death and no way of returning in DnD that didn't have a real-world explanation. (Hero Squad was the first one I witness but the PC wasn't able to continue playing with them due to family things) Not even in my own campaign that I've been playing have we come close to even losing anyone yet. So, those moments of Amethar dropping multiple times, Lapin's death, and especially Jet's death was so emotional and I felt like I was right there with them.

The lore and the world-building of this world was so insane. I watched the behind-the-scenes episode as well and finding out just how much Brennan and everyone put into this season makes my little writer's heart sing. I have done that, I do that, and being able to see how others do that in their mediums is so inspiring. Even when Brennan was not pulling any fucking punches, it felt right for the world that was surrounding the characters cause in those moments, punches wouldn't be pulled.

This season was so crazy and I hung on to every moment of it. It's not one of my favorites but it's one of the most inspirational campaigns I have ever watched.

Now, I do believe it is time for me to watch the second season of The Unsleeping City. Wish me luck.
