Humans are so fascinatingly stupid. And I don't refer only to our irrational loves and hates, but also to the simple human capacity to be utterly enthralled by a shiny object that clinks. One would think that we'd have overcome such a thing by now, but no. We are irrationally attracted to such silly little things. And I, for one, would tend to agree; that shiny rock is fascinating. That fidget toy is wonderful. None are above falling in love with strange little trinkets. And that, I think, is something quite special.
