Here it is! Kelenken guillermoi. This apex predator ruled Argentina ca 17 million years ago. One of the largest of the known terror birds, it had the largest skull of any known bird ever! The holotype specimin sported a skull meassuring 70 centimeters, and it might not have been fully grown yet. This callback to the non-avian dinosaurs likely used it's long and well-developed legs to ambush and run down the unique megafauna of South America, dispatching them with vicious kicks, pecks reminiscent of being picked by a pickaxe, or by grabbing them and violently throwing them to the ground, like it's closestliving relatives; the seriema. . Finally! I've been working on this for a LONG time! It feels really good to have the sculpture finished. I learned a lot making this one, and you can see a clear progression from the first model i posted, and this one. This is sort of a re-take on that first model, tho the actual remake of the first one is still early on in the making, being a scantly clad armature for now.
