Have you considered Will being absolutely head over heels for his excitable nerd boyfriend and not only “putting up” with Mike’s excited rambling but genuinely adoring it???

Me and my brothers are such a trio when watching Star Wars content lol

I am a very emotional consumer of sw media. I’m a writer, and will yell about plot and dialogue things. I’ve also read a lot of the books and am deeply a mandalorian nerd, to the point I’ve started mentally editing in or yelling mando’a at the screen.

brother no.1 is stubbornly clueless. He’s seen all of the live action sw content from watching it with the family, but doesn’t bother to remember details, and tends to tune out most Star Wars discussion. Will ask for clarification at the funniest moments, or the most intense ones.

brother no.2 is also a sw nerd. He’s deeeep into Jedi/sith lore, and knows probably too much about sw animation for his own good. He gets most of his information about sw legends from theory videos. Will whisper very obscure lore related things at the screen, then info dump once the episode was over.

I once asked brother no.2 if “deep into jedi and sith lore was accurate” and he asked if I knew what [obscure Sith Lord I can’t remember the name of]’s lightsaber’s kyber crystal was named.

IM SORRY IM GOOD AT ARGUING AND ALL THE PARTY KIDS AND CLUN RATS IN MY CITY (aka the stupid kids) USED TO DO IT FOR EXTRA CREDIT!! debate was cool asf, you had the nerds who debated because they where smart, and then the people who got high between sessions and just liked to argue. Model UN is the shit.

I'm very new to D&D and I have decided to keep track of the things that happen in my first campaign and maybe with all the others that we do but for now I'll focus on the 2 sessions we've had.

These will be out of context. I do make the rules.

Our characters will be referred to by their initials and I'll list them here:

FO the Tiefling Rogue - My character <3 hates CL

TJ the Tabaxi Fighter - 8 Intelligence and is distracted by shiny things

IS the Half-Orc Wizard - Protective of FO

TB the Aarakocra Ranger/Barbarian - 6'3" with a 22' wingspan

CL the Dragonborn Fighter - Thinks he's better than everyone

VS the Half-Elf Bard - Likes cursed objects

EG the Variant Human Barbarian - Newbie who didn't join until session 1

And last but not least, our beloved DM

Session 0

*DM asking us to state where we are in the town*

TJ: "I am digging in the dumpter beside the tavern."

TB: "I am circling above TJ, eyeing him"

-something happened outside and TJ and TB became buddies but I don't remember what-

-after we are all inside the tavern-

TJ: "I'd like to hop into the tavern like the birds you see in parking lots."

*everyone erupts into laughter*

-He rolls and gets an 11 which makes him slip but he catches himself and plays it off-

-A cloaked figure approaches us at our table-

TJ: "SCARY!"

Hooded figure: "You must be the adventurers who received letters"

FO: "What gave it away?"

Hooded figure: "Watch what you say, Tiefling"

FO: *stares him down as he tells us about a quest*

-we hear of a casino-

TJ: "OOO SHINY!"

-CL, IS, TB, and TJ all go to the casino-

*TJ immediately becomes overwhelmed with all the lights he falls to the floor and starts foaming at the mouth*

-they hear vital information about some artifacts and leave the casino-

*TB tries to fly to the top of the capital building to nest for the night but he hits a weird invisible wall that prevents him from going any higher than about 14 stories*

TJ: "Don't worry, I run into windows all the time."

*the party erupts into laughter*

-we go to a different tavern to get information-

TB: *tries to highfive the bartender but rolls a 1 so he gets ignored*

-we all travel to a warehouse. There are two guards outside-

DM: "Alright, what are you gonna do here?"

TJ: "I vote to distract them!"

FO: "C-can I reflect light off my amulet for TJ to chase?"

DM: "Sure!"

-TJ rolls and gets a boot to the face-

-TB rolls to throw his chain weapon out but gets a low number and it wraps around him instead he gets out next turn and says "None of you saw that!"-

-FO threw both her daggers and missed both times but also dodged every arrow shot at her-

-IS managed to hit one of the bandits-

-TJ killed the bandit that kicked him in the face by kicking his boot into the air and stabbing the bandit in the throat through his boot-

Me breaking character: *mumbles* "Now you have a hole in your boot"

DM: "You took the words right out of my mouth."

FO: -kills the other bandit by backflipping, sprinting towards him then NINJA KICKING HIS HEAD OFF.-

*Everyone was like, o.O wha-*

TB breaking character: "I dig it."

FO: "Can I eat him?"

TJ breaking character: "I'm sorry you wanna what?"

-FO ate the bandit and found a dagger so now she has 3-

That's pretty much how session 0 went. I'll make a new post for session 1 because this is long enough

OK TIME FOR A NERD RANT!!!!!! Gabriel is talking utter bullshit!!!! I love both the new diverse characters and the old classics, every month i buy the latest issues of Spider-man, Champions, Avengers, Spider Gwen and my absoulute favourite super heroine ; Ms Marvel! All my fellow comic book fans that i’m friends with love these books and critics do to.

It’s idiotic to say that Female centred books are to blame for poor sales seeing as The Mighty Thor (Jane Foster version) sells waaaaaaaaaay more than her Odinson counterpart, that Wolverine (Laura/X23) is more popular than ever and that Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan) is constantly a best seller both digitally and physically!

And so what if some of the new characters are not white? So what if they’re gay? So what if they have a diffrent faith? These stories are about heroes and not all heroes are going to be thirty/forty something white dudes.

What’s hurting Marvel sales are there Crappy events like Civil War II and Monsters unleashed….ok nerd RANT over!
