Leven Rambin Was The Best Clarisse I Could Ever Ask For - Tumblr Posts
The movies are good standalones. Forget the book, it’s its own thing.
Leven Rambin as Clarisse will never not blow my mind, when I first watched the movies, I immediately became obsessed with Clarisse La Rue.
Everyone’s hating, but did you see the comedy in the movie, it’s literally gold:
1- Dionysus rejecting Annabeth’s idea then later at the campfire introduces it as his, perfect execution by the actor by the way.
2- Percy and Clarisse’s “I did it!” + “We did it!” moment??Fucking hilarious.
3- Luke calling them his cousins and as Kronos his grandfather, then Kronos says: “Great, my FAVORITE” LIKE HELLO??? Comedy gold people.
The acting was freaking insane, yeah the dialogue sometimes was awkward, and the fight scene in the first movie, with Percy and Annabeth and their swords, reaaaally awkward.
But as a whole, it was really fun to watch and shaped my future interests.
I think people need to stop hating so much, and just enjoy things as they are. I admit there were so many things changed and chucked, and I wished for some of the book scenes/characters to be IN the actual movie (or at least mention them) but overall the movies were enjoyable and I was cackling the entire time I rewatched it.

Listen, I know this fandom loves to collectively hate the movies.
But fuck that, I will always love them. For one, because without the first, I would have never ended up in this fandom, I would have never heard of this niche little book series (it ain’t big in Germany, not even after two movies and without them even less) - but for another, because of Clarisse la Rue.

Casting for Chiron and Hermes in the second movie were also on-point, but I simply adore Leven Rambin as Clarisse la Rue - and I love the on-screen chemistry she has with Logan Lerman. Their teasing, their banter, the way they looked at each other - seriously, I can not describe her as anything but “smitten” when Percy nods at her as she is carried off by the crowd.
I did not ship those two before I watched Sea of Monsters and I came out of that movie shipping them hard.
Also, if you don’t appreciate Leven’s arms in this movie, I don’t know what you’re doing with your life, because hot damn:

Say what you will about the movies - and you will, I know - but Leven Rambin did a bang job and characterized Clarisse la Rue on point.
I will never speak ill of the Percy Jackson movies. The first was like a gay awakening and my little closeted ass loved the second for no particular reason(s) at all.
