thank you for the ask!! it is a welcome break from election watching lol. i answered all for both tharya & miraak below the cut!
3. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?
miraak doesn’t really have a favorite—he actually is quite proud of his body, minus the scars, and works hard to keep himself strong. however, he does particularly like his eyes and his arms.
tharya would have a tough time choosing simply because she doesn’t think of herself highly. but she does like her hair; it’s a nice color, soft, and she enjoys messing around with it.
4. What are their favorite physical traits about their lover? (One psychological and one physical)
HOOO BOY isn’t this a great ask. let me drop some knowledge: miraak literally worships tharya. he thinks she is an actual divine being, heaven sent. in that sense he treasures everything about her, but especially her eyes—they were his first anchors in the waking world—and her endless selflessness.
tharya really admires miraak’s intelligence; my man has an entire library stored in his head, and knows everything about everything, especially when it comes to magic and history. she also really likes his bara tiddies.
6. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?
hmm good one. miraak has a hard time finding hobbies once back in tamriel but after a few years he settles in more, and actually gets into composing music and drawing. he’s very private about what he draws, but will often share music with her or ask for opinions.
tharya’s hobbies almost always include making things; she likes to whittle or build stuff, enchant things, or tend a garden. so i guess no, they don’t really annoy each other with hobbies!
11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?
miraak is laughably easy to aggravate, but to make him fly into a rage you’d probably have to insult tharya directly—bonus points if it’s something he knows she’s insecure about. also try to talk down to him, see how it goes. talk shit about atmora? you’re done. mention hermaeus mora within a 50 mile radius of him? he’ll know, and he’ll kill you on sight.
tharya is much, much harder to irritate. she’s very easy-going and laid-back. unlike miraak, who goes off the hook the first time, it would take repeated incidents to make her angry. repeated insults, repeated failures, repeated betrayals will all make her pretty upset.
17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children?
oooh. miraak, yes. miraak wants nothing more than to have kids of his own. marriage he could go either way—it would be nice, but he prioritizes kids. unfortunately as a priest he was made sterile, and it continues to haunt him.
tharya, less so. she hasn’t ever considered marriage or kids as an option for herself simply because...she’s not your standard woman. pregnancy scares her, too, and she doesn’t feel like she’d be a good parent (which is probably true.) she feels bad about it because miraak makes it pretty damn clear he’d have kids if he was able, but she also knows he wouldn’t force her into doing so, and she doesn’t want kids.
28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for?
i’m gonna take this from the modern au that’s been lurking in my head for months now: miraak & the solstheim priests create a musical group. since they’re all hot dudes with great voices they become popular really fast. i wouldn’t count out miraak being a male model either tbh.
tharya is less likely to be famous simply because she doesn’t have “big industry” talents, but if she were to become a celebrity, it would probably be because she’s a huge activist on climate change (kinda like greta thurnberg) and has a really nice travel blog.
39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct?
a lot of people assume miraak is tharya’s huge, callous, silent, scary, war veteran bodyguard before they think he’s the first dragonborn. though he isn’t a war veteran, he definitely has the look of one. miraak just gives off a strange aura that steers people away from him; and he is huge and scary and somewhat of a bodyguard, and he never speaks, so most people are correct.
let’s assume people don’t know tharya is the dragonborn for a sec. a lot of people would write her off because she’s kinda small, just your average looking nord woman and doesn’t look like she commands a lot of power. and since she’s a mage that would probably drag her credit further. so a lot of people would be wrong about her.
48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious?
miraak gets jealous almost as easily as he gets angry, however, like his anger, his jealousy has stages ranging from harmless, mild, annoying, and severe. he’s an attention whore specifically only for tharya’s attention, so take that away from him for a long time and he’ll be bitchy. other people flirting with her or being grabby makes him both angry and jealous.
tharya, like we said before, is super laid back, and a people person; she can read the room and body language really well. she knows when idiots are flirting with her and politely removes herself, but that doesn’t stop miraak from seething across the room. it takes a lot for her to get actually jealous, if she ever does.

Wow, I meant to make the miraak smut I’m writing short and sweet (I even cut out a proper undressing scene and everything) yet here I am at roughly 600+ words and the pegging hasn’t even began. You all best better be ready, I’m really liking this one and I think it may be done sometime either tomorrow or the next day 😉

This is supposed to be a moment when Hjaskar (my Dragonborn) reassured him that he is free now, not caged in Oblivion anymore. Imagine how powerful a Dragonborn couple would be omg 😭💕
okay. going out on a limb here and posting my skyrim/miraak&ldb series just to see if it gets any traffic. there are 6 fics in all. please be gentle, it’s been written over the course of 3 years after a long long drought of me not writing at all. there’s inconsistencies and bad writing galore (especially the first fics, BIG OOF) but eventually i will edit everything into coherency. like fine wine, the fics get better and longer the more you progress, with eventually revenant as my crowning glory. enjoy!

How jumpy is your character? Do they get upset when startled?
this is a good question 👀 we'll branch out to my DA oc this time too!
tharya, my ldb is pretty jumpy - loud or sudden noises when she isn't paying attention (or even sometimes when she is) make her flinch or jump. not because she's actually scared of them, but because her brain is so used to hearing loud noises and immediately needing to get up and run or defend herself, they make her body jump into action. she very rarely gets upset by it, but it definitely ups her heartbeat. (being easily startled is a small symptom of PTSD iirc)
bhijirio, another skyrim oc, is somewhat similar to tharya. he's khajiit and a bounty hunter, so he's accustomed to listening for small noises and paying close attention to his surroundings. that way he doesn't really flinch, per se, (though his ears almost always flick in some way when he hears odd noises), but usually he will look up & look around to see if he can pinpoint the source of said noise. he never really is upset by it.
miraak, though, is pretty hard to ruffle. he usually jumps "internally", lets himself be startled by things on the inside, but never lets it show on the outside. sometimes his eyebrow or shoulder will jump if he's less alert - and specific noises will always make him leap away (i.e. anything that sounds like something falling behind him, explosions, or even whispering close by, most are reminders of herma-mora). miraak gets grumpy about it and will gripe if he feels it necessary.
azriel, my inquisitor, is a healthy, normal amount of jumpy. she will flinch at unexpected loud sounds, etc, mostly out of habit or a natural reflex. most things don't scare her, but she'll still react to them anyway. as a warrior she's very accustomed to taking constant survey of the land around her and reacting immediately, both in fights and to noises around her. she doesn't bother to hide it and usually gets a good chuckle out of it.
sebastian, though technically not an oc, i felt right to include bc of some personal headcanons. his hearing in his left ear had been damaged by the chantry explosion, so on his left side he can't hear small noises, etc. things like explosions will obv come through, but the sound of a glass dropping and breaking will likely be distant enough that he won't jump, just look around to see what it was. that aside, he jumps at very big, unexpected noises and explosions especially - he's somewhat paranoid of being caught in another since the chantry. he rarely gets upset and instead will want to know what happened and if everyone/thing is okay.

for better reference, check out illumancer's old drawings of their miraak - i'm heavily inspired by that, because it was the first representation of miraak that i'd ever seen that totally agreed with me.
tall (which i believe is the only fandom-wide consensual characteristic), broad shouldered, long and thick limbed, strong boulder of a man. rich brown skin (in my canon, he's part yokudan) with these gorgeous golden eyes like q sunset; but, in the modern era, they're notably unsettling to look at because of their lack of life. they occasionally flare with emotion, but most of the time they are cold and flat, and despite their beauty, that thousand-yard-stare is difficult to keep prolonged eye contact with.
his hair is a bit unruly, a bit wavy but not curly (unless it grows long) and usually parted, but not slicked back, with some strands framing or falling around the edges of his forehead. his nose is broad, his jaw is broad and a bit squarish, his lips are soft and everything about his face is proportionate. and his eyebrows are pretty thick, but neat (once read a post where they said people w thicker eyebrows are more angry so YEAH).
in my canon (and mostly because, when i first started writing, i was a bit all over the place and not thinking much about anything) miraak takes his mask off almost immediately out of apocrypha. he leaves it in his backpack, and later, in their room at the college, and after that, tucked away in one of those low, long chests at the foot of the bed in their home. he never touches it unless he needs to - and he almost never needs to. he doesn't want to keep wearing the mask outside of apocrypha because it reminds him of hermaeus mora, it reminds him of the young, stupid, prideful man who thought he could cheat a daedric prince, who thought he could topple dragons, and who thought he could abandon his family in pursuit of false knowledge. he switches out the mask for a hood, usually pulling it up to cast a shadow on his face but not hide it. he deserves to be seen.
even the scars, the two over the bridge of his nose, and the one in his eyebrow. he leaves the mask behind because he forgot his face in apocrypha, and is too terrified of forgetting again to don the mask once more.
that, and he enjoys tharya being able to caress his face whenever she wants to.

miraak has returned as my homescreen for the first time in like 3 years...(he originally held the position for 3.5 years straight) my world is officially healed to pre-pandemic levels.

Do you think after a particularly intense battle, someone fighting with their Thu’um would lose their voice? Like, the Last Dragonborn would be all hoarse and croaky for a week after fighting Miraak

I've been poking around the Skyrim tag a bit, and was finally inspired to draw my LDB, Fallumin, for the first time in ages.
Most of his physical traits carried over from my last drawing of him, but he's got some new armor, and I've finally figured out how to have an argonian wear a basic dragon priest mask.
