It started with a war in a far away place. And Dib had always been a sensible kid, deep down.
Not even an intergalactic war, just a regular human war for something like territory, or perhaps oil. It was about gunpowder and grenades, about mild explosions and unknown people with names of different pronunciation. But not like Schwarzenegger, no.
Dib had never paid attention to such things. Hours upon hours of spying on his old nemesis, Zim had never noticed that the human could get entranced in those types of news when he stumbled across them in between Mysterious Mysteries commercials, or in the radio when he was tinkering with his inventions.

@cdarkheartzero and I got together once again, collaborating on a drawing based on a fanfic written by the sweet and lovely, @melodyofthevoid. The fanfic is called “Havoc to Be Wrought” and can be read here. Zero drew this amazing scene, one that brought us so many feels, and I colored it in.

Broken Kalopsia - (Ongoing) This one I swear by and reread sometimes when I’m in a spiel. One of my absolute favorites and although it hasn’t been updated in a minute, it’s a pretty long length and def a good read. (248,387 word count)
The Union - (Completed) Really good read, starts off an AU of Zim breaking into the Membrane laboratories and being held captured where Dib meets him there. I’m not going to spoil anything too much, but irken empire shenanigans and arranged marriages come into play. (102,231 word count)
IF YOU SHOULD BEG - (Ongoing) I’ve seriously fallen in love with this fic, there’s a lot of positive and negative tension and a lot of lore with Irken Empire, Pak’s stuff and just really good fulfilling ZaDr interactions. Also, FERAL ZIM!!! (Please be wary of the violence/gore tags) (52,250 word count)
Curious Dib - (Ongoing) One of my favorite depictions of zadf/r, and is super comfortable territory that likes both or just Qpp. VERY GOOD SLOWBURN 10/10. The best part is that this entire fic is filled with so much lore and head cannons, really great interactions and keeps a steady plot line even with some filler and info chapters. Also, feral, protective Zim in some chapters, which we all die for, don’t lie. (157,864 word count)
Knotted - (Ongoing) This isn’t actually one fic but a series of fics. One of my favorites from years back and it’s still on going, with a pretty steady transition of going from ZaDe to ZaDf to ZaDr overtime. Also, cryptids are involved, as well as some really nice character growth and development. (77,377 word count)
There are more but this is what I can whip up off the top of my head. If anyone has any more to add feel free to do so~
well, I guess it could make it interesting if the virus somewhat causes gore or something during the process of infection. Maybe it can work a bit as a parasite, too. What I’m thinking is: A new virus infects an irken’s PAK, and the virus transports itself to a new host very nice a while by… attatchingthePAKtoadifferenthost,potentiallycauingreallygoryscenesintheprocessthathumanathouritiesbeliveisamurderer… *gasps for breath* theprocesssometimestakesawhilesotheorigionalirkenhost *gasp* maydieintheprocessduetothetenminuettimerbeingtoshort… (Can I mention that the virus wipes the memory of being infected from the host) ANYWAYS main plot of the story could be that the virus found it’s way to urth (specifically from another irked besides Zim), and Dib goes to assess and observe the crime scenes (caused by the virus trying to use a human as a new vessel) and attempt to find out what the actual heck is happening. He notices the PAK punctures and immediately freaks and calls Zim. Zim is just like: “ZIM KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THESE FILTHY CRIMES!” a few weeks later, Zim somehow becomes infected, but since (and this is a somewhat headcannon, so of course, you don’t have to follow along with it!) Zim is defective/has faulty coding, the virus doesn’t control the PAK, but rather, the body of the irked vessel.
So… the next time Dib has any interaction with Zim, he notices the bug is kind of switching between personalities and memories. OR the virus transfers normally, but Zim is in full consciousness as the virus… attemptstotransferitselfovertoDib… (Zim just can’t control what he’s doing) (oh yeah, and maybe the virus shows no symptoms on the host. Or very subtle symptoms, like slower reaction times and less accurate calculations.)
And… that’s my ideas! (I could go on and on abt concepts for this and shit, but this is already very long.)

id love to see how this turns out! (NGL, you made me wanna write something abt this concept… if only I had stable ideas for their ages, and timelines and shit, which I don’t :P)
