"Hmm?" Riddle cocked his head, peering at you with narrowed eyes, obviously curious. It wasn't usual for you to be shy around him - you two had long since passed that. "What do you need, Prefect?"

"I was wondering," You start, voice a bit soft as you glance to the side, hand coming up to mess with the tie around your collar, "When are you free, next?"

The dorm leader hummed to himself, lost in his own world for a few moments as he thought it over.

"Well... There's the Unbirthday parties and the dorm leader meetings. I've no choice but to tutor Ace and Deuce, as they both failed their last History of Magic test. I believe Trey had something planned as well..."

He trailed off now, a distant look in his eyes as he absentmindedly counted the events he listed on his fingers. When you realized Riddle wouldn't be stopping anytime soon, you couldn't help the sigh that left you, grabbing his attention near instantly.

"Why do you ask, dear rose?"

Realizing your mistake, and not wanting to add to the dorm leader's clearly busy schedule, you wave him off. "Oh, it's nothing important. Forget I asked."

A frown pulled at his lips, and Riddle looked at you with much more intent now, questioning in his eyes.

Uncomfortable silence hangs heavy in the air, but you don't answer the unspoken question despite the way your fidgeting transitioned to wringing your hands together. Dutifully ignoring his gaze, you shift on your feet, too flustered by the sudden attention to dismiss yourself.

"Love. If there's something you need from me, don't hesitate. Just say the word, and I can make time."

"You know I don't want to pull you away from important things." You insist, finally meeting Riddle's eyes, your hands coming to a still as you cross your arms.

"Nothing is more important than you."
