So...I may or may not have burned my bacon just a tad upon reading this, but it's okay because today seems brighter than usual and I feel good, especially after finishing this first part, and it is most definitely a beautiful burden to bear as you say.

The entirety of the opening until we see the first instance of Jungkook is so engaging. It’s filled with poetic prose and alluring alliteration that keeps you wanting more and more, and it’s there throughout the entire story. Shakespear would bend to your vocabulary if he were to read your works.

“Your blood is as blue as the ocean is deep but you are a human all the same.” I’m not sure why I constantly found myself thinking back to this line, but it was the one that stuck the longest while I was reading. It’s so simple, but it holds so much depth. And maybe it’s because this is when we see a parallel of the two and the diving line is simply their natures, but it’s powerful oh so beautiful.

Once it comes to when Jungkook is standing at the door and you say “his fist lands heavy against the door, beckoning to enter. It thuds just as your heart does. You have been waiting for years to let him inside.” I had to take a pause because wow! That struck deep and hard, it’s filled with so much emotion it leaves you stunned with the amount of passion that is held behind those words. And when you continue describing him, how “your soul sings” and how “He is mesmerizing from the scar on his cheek, to the mole beneath his lip all the way down to the pureness of his heart. You could not deny him even if you tried.” It felt like my heart was cheering with the imagery.

I also really loved the juxtapositions that are within. From the fieriness lingers in her gut when she is undressing to the “calculated coolness that rivals the fire in his onyx eyes” when Jungkook is doing the same, to a heady combination of both when you write “He is far too beautiful like this, far too dangerous with his hungry eyes and ruffled locks.” All of it is enticing and leaves you wanting more and more.

“There are no words, no beautiful turn of phrase you can call to mind that can fully describe the feeling that sweeps through you. It is one of absolute joy, of wholehearted enamorment and true fulfillment. You have never experienced such a feeling until now. You have never known such contentment and all from the utterance of a simple sentence. It further solidifies what you have known for most of your life. You will never love another the way that you love him. It is as frightening as it is soothing.” I just really love this section, so I won’t speak much upon it.

The phrase that made my heart pulse to my ears however is: “He is to be King.” It’s simple, but this one is powerful for its own reasoning. The first several instances of it appearing is followed by words of insecurity and vulnerability. Uneasiness in the fact that she is different from Jungkook and his kind. But then you bring it to a climax, turning the tables in the moment of their most desperate desires and say, “He is to be King, but you are the one who seems to yield all the power.” It is like a mic drop moment. When she recognizes that she is worthy of all his affections and adoration. But just as intense as that singular moment, you bring it to a just as equal close at the end: “He is to become King, after all. What would a king want with a heart as delicate as your own?”

This story is so sensual and passionate, but there’s a heaviness and angst that weighs in toward the situation all the while and I can’t say that I wouldn’t have felt the same given those circumstances. I found myself finishing this story far sooner than I would have wanted to, but you keep us on our toes during the entire duration of it. Thank you for this fantastic story and I cant wait to see what part two holds!

A/N: Hi all!!! I decided to split this into two parts because it was taking me so long and I needed a break but didn’t want to keep you waiting any longer. I should have the next part up this weekend! also I was really anxious to post so I’m sorry if it’s not super edited. I will do a read through when I wake up tomorrow.

The anticipation for what awaits you is agonizing. There is a heaviness in your heart. It is a painful pounding that beats furiously against your breast. It reminds you of everything you have to lose tonight. It reminds you that too much has been left unsaid between you for far too long.

But there is no guarantee that any of it would matter anyway. He is to become a king, after all. What would a king want with a heart as delicate as your own? What use does a king have for a woman like you? A human woman at that. One whose presence could very well mar the crown he will soon wear and everything it stands for.

It does not matter to many that you are no ordinary woman. Your blood is as blue as the ocean is deep but you are a human all the same. How could a werewolf as powerful and revered as Jungkook ever hold his head high with an interloper for a bride? Surely there would be outrage amongst the members of the pack. Surely you would be the cause of far more stress than your tender heart is worth. No, a king needs domain over his kingdom, not the love of a human.

But loving him is not something you can so easily abandon. It expands well beyond what you can fit in that silly heart of yours. It has been growing steadily inside of you since the innocence of your youth. It started way back when Jungkook was still a ruddy cheeked runt who used to chase you through his family’s orchard. It has matured since then, just as you have after all these years. It is deeper now, desperate even. It begs to be unleashed and reciprocated with an equal vigour.
