Daniel Buren, The Exploded Hut, homage to Oscar Niemeyer, situated work, 2015
I wonder if the final battle on the rooftop next to the Hazbin Hotel sign may have been inspired by Connor's battle on the Silvercup Studios rooftop at the end of Highlander... An homage, perhaps?
It will be even better, I realized that I drew the robot's "ears" badly, after all this is a sketch... yes, it is a drawing homage to the great master Akira Toriyama š¤š¦
As hard to get these are, I'd be happy to make something like this for family or friends.
Rusty Nail's Recipes
Todayās honoree has gone through more in her short life than most. It is not often, Dear drinkers; patrons, ladies, and gentlemen, that I get to put forward something for an individual as deserving as todayās. She has been through hell and high water to finally find some degree of peace, acceptance, and family. That she has managed this, and to find not only this, but the strength of character to forgive her accusers and abandoners is nothing short of that which is attributed to saints, and mothers.
Ladies and Gentlemenā¦
Itās Motherly Scootaloo!
Sheās survived an escape from a hospital, a murder trial, and an unspooling timeline; not to mention the tutelage of Factory Scootaloo; I can think of no greater way to honor her than the art I practice best.
A Motherly Scootaloo Ingredients:
Ā Ā Ā 2oz Captain Morganās Private Stock
Ā Ā Ā 2oz Southern Comfort
Ā Ā Ā 6oz Pineapple Juice
Ā Ā Ā Ice
Ā Ā Ā Chilled Collins Glass
Ā Ā Ā Orange Wedge
Ā Ā Ā Grenadine
Special Equipment: A Shaker. Making a Motherly Scootaloo:
Ā Ā Ā Pour Rum, SoCo, and Juice into Shaker.
Ā Ā Ā Add ice.
Ā Ā Ā Shake well
Ā Ā Ā Place ice in Chilled Collins Glass.
Ā Ā Ā Pour contents of shaker into glass.
Ā Ā Ā Add wedge as garnish.
Ā Ā Ā Add dash of Grenadine.
Ā Ā Ā Drink!
Youāve just finished making a Motherly Scootaloo!
This drink cuts back on its overall sweetness for a taste of tart with the use of pineapple juice. This, combined with the peach flavor of the southern comfort will produce a taste that is a twang of fruity contrasts, but also will produce a hue quite similar to Motherly Scootās.
Keep sending in suggestions as to who youād like to see made into a drink, and Stay Thirsty, my friends!

Oddworld: The Promised Neverland homage (pt 2)
She hasnāt even made a formal debut on screen and yet Iām *fascinated* by the character of Sam, Mudokon Queen.
I just have so many questions: was she acting alone her decision? Did anyone else even know, or did she just wander off of her own volition to make this deal with the Glukkons? Was she truly acting in the best interest of her people or were there more selfish motives at play?
And itās those questions that really made it so easy to draw this parallel between the original image that inspired this piece (The Promised Neverland OP 2, āIdentity.ā)
Becauseā¦regardless of whether she was acting altruistically or notā¦Sam still has blood on her hands? The blood of not just her people, but her *children.* She might not have known the conditions that theyād be brought up in, or the abuse theyād faceā¦but she still made the decision to sell them. And she still lives in relative comfort, at least compared to Abe and the others, even if itās nowhere near idealistic.
I sympathise with herā¦and yet Iām so suspicious of her? And I love that?? And I loved portraying that via a cracked and bleeding egg, precariously stitched together, much like the situation that theyāre all in. Actually, like I mentioned in the other post, this is the most fun Iāve had with my art in *years.*
Ok, I have to post this. About Agatha All Along...
As someone that knows far more television than most and grew up watching so many "before their time" shows that I am an anachronism and could easily time travel to any post TV era and blend in, I loved WandaVision. It is a love letter to all of classic television in the way that Tarantino's films are smutty love letters to the genes he makes them in, full of homage, references, and Easter eggs. Believe me when I tell you that you are missing out on so much of what makes that show phenomenal if you don't get the references.
What does this have to do with AAA, you may be asking? Her theme song is a classic TV theme song. It's not a subtle and barely noticeable hint or sample either. It's as subtle as Ice Ice Baby being Under Pressure. This was obviously intentional based on the reality it occurred in and the TV static soaked nostalgia dripping from every pixel in The Hex. Agatha All Along is The Munsters theme song. For those unfamiliar, that show was about a family of monsters living amongst humans. The thing is that the monsters were the goth Wards with how wholesome, kind, empathic, and compassionate they were to everyone, while the humans were judgemental, cruel, and more monstrous by far (nothing is exaggerated there). The Munsters are more human than human, and for those that get why the Rob Zombie reference is amusing this š¤ is for you. They could have picked any iconic song to use and I think there's a relevance in choosing The Munsters. Here they are so you can compare them.
Just caught this homage!
