Harvest Moon: MFOMT was fun even on the emulator. I married the Doctor bc he was the easiest to charm in my opinion. But marrying him was so goofy. He never tells you his real name and the face he makes during the wedding is so weird.

HARVEST MOON: PRIDE PARADE RELEASE V0.2b (update)

Finally! A mod to let you marry your favorite same-sexed Bachelors and Bachelorettes in Harvest Moon: Animal Parade for the Nintendo Wii!

This mod replaces the Male playable character models with the Female ones and vice-versa.

FEATURES:

Play as a ‘guy’ and marry the Man of Your Dreams, or play as a ‘girl‘ and marry your one and only Best Girl.

All outfits have been swapped, so changing out of the default outfit shouldn’t break anything.

Graphics for stamina bar and map screen have also been replaced.

Dialog for bachelor and bachelorette heart events, marriage, and childbirth have been re-tooled to fit.

Game Title ID changed from RBIEE9 to CBIEE9 to be compatible with GameTDB integrations. (Thanks, @sgibbz​!)

Dolphin replacement texture pack to fix Logo and Load Screen Character Portraits. (Temporary solution until I can edit those TPL files reliably)

WHAT’S NEW:

Nothing has changed other than the inclusion of Patch v0.2b. This alternative patch should correct the issue that many people have run into when attempting to install the mod. Please try version B if the original patch did not work for you.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

(windows) xdeltaUI

(mac) multipatch

the patch (see above)

An .iso of Harvest Moon: Animal Parade for Wii (I can’t provide a download link.)

HOW TO INSTALL:

Run multipatch(mac) or xdelta UI(windows) (the screen both give you should basically be the same)

Select your patch file that you downloaded where it asks for a patch file

For “source file” or “file to patch”, select your Animal Parade .iso file

Choose the location/filename to save it as. Anything is fine as long as it ends in .iso

Run the patcher!

The file that it spits out is playable immediately!

For the dolphin pack:

Unzip the folder you downloaded to your Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures\CBIEE9 folder

In Dolphin’s “Graphic” settings window, click on the “Advanced” tab

Check “Load Custom Textures”

KNOWN ISSUES:

I’ve gotten reports that the mod may not work on an actual modded Wii. I will look into this, but finishing the mod first is my main objective.

All animations are still tied to the ‘original’ gender.

Some of the dialogue/text has not been changed, such as some events and the names and descriptions of the outfits.

Children may still refer to you by the wrong name (i.e. “mom” for the male character). I think I’ve figured out how to fix it, but haven’t implemented it yet.

This version still contains the awkward, unfinished version of Julius’s rival heart event. I apologize for this.

Rewritten pregnancy and childbirth scenes for non-fertile couples

Various text edits to reflect candidates' new sexualities

Corrections of a couple typos and portrait usage errors found in the base game

This mod can be installed with Citra or LayeredFS. For both methods, you must already have a copy of the North American English release of the game. (ID: #0004000000047900)

For Computer

Download, install, and set up the Citra 3DS Emulator.

Make sure your game's installed and runs properly.

Unzip the mod. The password is LGBT.

Move the two folders ("exefs" and "romfs") into the appropriate Citra mods location as described in Citra's official mod installation guide.

Tips:

The game runs best at native resolution. Attempting to upscale with Citra will cause ugly gray outlines and broken sprites. Skip the opening video; for some reason, it doesn't play well on emulator. These are known issues with emulating this game and are not caused nor solved by the mod.

When viewing your game library in Citra, right-clicking on the game will give you various shortcuts specific to that game, including a link to the game's mods folder.

For 3DS

Jailbreak your 3DS if you haven't already. Here's the simplest, most straightforward guide I've found.

Install LayeredFS on your 3DS. If you followed the above guide, it'll already be installed.

In your Luma settings, make sure LayeredFS mods are enabled.

Unzip the mod. The password is LGBT.

Move the two folders ("exefs" and "romfs") into the appropriate LayeredFS mod location as described in LayeredFS's patch installation instructions.

Tips:

You're going to need access to an SD card reader. Most laptops have an SD card slot. It looks like a thin rectangle.

Your 3DS comes with a card inside a slot labeled, "SD Card." On my device, it's on the side near the circle pad.

For Both

When installed correctly, you should see two folders in the game's mod directory called "exefs" and "romfs." If the mod directory is the game's ID number, you know you're in the right place. If installed incorrectly, the mod won't do anything.

You'll know it's working when the game's title screen has changed. There's a big rainbow like the one pictured at the top of this post.

If you ever want to uninstall the mod, just delete the files from your mod directory.

The masc hero will be able to become pregnant and the fem hero will be able to impregnate her wife. To use, first install the main mod and then this file. Let it overwrite files in the main mod.

I found an issue. What do I do?

Let me know. There's bound to be typos and other mistakes in any large project. Dialogue errors found in the unmodded parts of the game are also acceptable submissions. You can shoot me a message via an ask or DM.

Send a screenshot and a brief description of how you got there. If you also send me your save file, I'll be able to deal with it faster.

I don't want to make people download a million new versions of the mod, so once I collect a decent number of fixes and/or a reasonable amount of time has passed, I'll release an update.

Is this compatible with previous saves?

Yep! This mod doesn't affect saves. However, because of the way the mod works, while installed, your character will effectively be swapped with the hero of the opposite binary gender. In other words, if your character is a straight woman before installing, after installing, your character will become a gay man. Upon uninstalling, your character will be a straight woman again.

Is there a way to continue an unmodded save as the same gender?

No, not unless somebody figures out how to safely edit the saves.
