Laiz - master of his craft, a professional Scourge. His sands rip through enemies like a plague of locusts, and corrupted fires burn with rage.
Out of battle, laiz does not reseble his furious self at all. Awkward, friendly and charming in his own, special way..
Born in Vabbi to a family of elonian nobles, Laiz from a young age was made to study the craft of necromancy, which his parents deemed especially royal of a craft. As devotees to Palawa Joko, his two mothers, Vergienne and Nadia, wanted their son to not only be a servant to him in life and death, but a master scourge and possibly a lich like Joko. Not knowing better and not really wanting to dissapoint his parents, Laiz studied hard just because he had to, until eventually, necromancy grew on him. He enjoyed experimenting and even learning about things himself: bad at first, as he was used to tutors and mentors. All of that, and the prevalence of death in the culture around him made Laiz get used and desensitised to gruesome things in general. Eventually, he realized, though he respected Joko as their leader and someone who brought prosperity upon Elona (even though mostly onto the rich, but nonetheless, Laiz was unaware how 'normal' people live), as authority and as a master of his work, he did not wish to serve him forever in death. That realization has hit especially hard, when Balthazar waged war on Elona - and Joko did almost nothing to fight the army of forged. So Laiz fled the desert, leaving parents and riches behind, to find better life and, possibly, proper death elsewhere.

day 3: pact
i developed a bias to the vigil pretty early on. to me, it's the most interesting of the three factions. and i find the founding members to be as fun as they are memorable. (and tragic! 🫠) it's been interesting exploring the relationships each of my commanders has with the vigil and how they react to everything that happens over the years! (all three characters use he/him pronouns!)
