Recipes Please!
Hi everyone, it's ya girl Aurora here! Today, I'm looking for ideas. As my followers know... I'm very much into cooking. The more I can make from scratch, the better!
I'm learning to preserve food (canning, jam/jelly, dehydrating, pickling) & am, like everyone, trying to save money. Realistically, the only thing we're "boujie" about in our house is food.
We very much enjoy Instagram worthy food, and I strive for the best taste I can get. Of the 5 people in our family, we have 3 autistic people & a few allergies. Surprisingly, though, diets aren't too terribly restricted.
So yeah... I'm looking for recipes. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, drinks, etc.

I always viewed my wife’s best friend’s husband as an asshole. He walks around like he's Donald Trump Jr, even though he works for a failing electric company. At our summer cookouts, I usually relax alone or tend to the grill (if it's at our place), while this guy sips his beer and pretends to be on important calls. Lately, these cookouts have gotten intense. I finally called him out:
"Scott, what's your issue, man? Why do you always look so pissed off?"
He nearly choked on his beer but managed to keep his composure. "You think I want to be here, eating this garbage?" he said, holding up the half-eaten burger I cooked.
"I can make this myself ten times better, in my paradise of a yard."
Clearly, he has as much say in these gatherings as I do.
"I think my burgers are pretty spot-on, thanks. And my yard has been majorly upgraded. We didn't buy a basic ass house for a pool," I replied.
I could see the blood boiling in his head. He walked up to me, his nose almost touching mine.
I suddenly realized he wasn't as tall as I had thought; he was just a competitive little guy, and I was ready to play.
"Next BBQ is at my place. Your patty vs. mine, and our girls will cast the votes," he whispered angrily in my face.
"And what does the winner get, a bj?" I asked, his face still inches from mine.
His eyes grew massive, he was about to shove me when the back door opened, and the girls came out. We all finished eating together, and I proposed the idea of burger judging next weekend. The girls pleaded against it, but we insisted it was the only way to make these gatherings fun.
The following weekend, a bitter Scott was already out grilling.
"Hey, bud," I said as I opened my marinated patties. He looked me dead in the eyes and said, "I'll be the one calling you 'buddy' soon."
Was is happening? I thought
After we finished grilling, we plated our burgers and presented them to the wives for judging. They pretended to deliberate, though I could tell they’d planned this out earlier. They knew Scott was childish, and I could handle a loss. My wife said, “Honey, while your fried green tomatoes are my favorite, I have to give it to Scott. His sautéed onions are incredible,” her tone sarcastic enough for only me to notice. His wife, of course, voted for his burger too, and Scott’s grimace quickly turned into a smug grin.
After dinner, we helped the women clean up, and they went out back with a new bottle of wine.
“Well played, man,” I said, offering a handshake.
Scott scoffed but smirked. “I’ve been thinking about what you said. My wife hasn’t done anything like that since the day I said ‘I do.’ You think that sexy blonde would choose a hairy, old, grump like me? I used to be fun. I used to be loving. But she stripped away my dignity. Now, I have zero control over my life, and I became the ass she treats me like. Ya’ll are young and still in the honeymoon phase, but just wait, buddy,” he said, his smirk fading as he walked away. I noticed a large bulge in his khakis as he stormed off.
Later, as I was putting my supplies away in my trunk, I heard the back door creak open. I turned to see Scott in the back seat of my car, fully naked. His fat, hairy, well-endowed manhood draped over his massive, sagging sack. The desires I thought I had rid of as a teen suddenly resurfaced, his confidence along with that 6 pack earlier —had me salivating.
Neither of us said a word. I climbed in, shut the door behind me, and gave in—not just to my defeat in the grilling challenge, but to something much deeper.
As we’re saying our goodbyes, Scott pulls me aside. “Next reward?” he asks, clearly ready for another round. I grab my left over buns and shove them in his face.

Some of my 2019 goals is to start a healthier dietary intake. What I’ve found interesting that local grown foods are more expensive than sourced food from elsewhere farms. I for one am dedicated to a change. 2018 brought a lot of personal changes, some good, some not so good. It’s been a transition, quitting smoking, the end of my relationship (hardest transition) new career (best decision) and the intensity of exercise (not horrible) and now a dietary plan, which I will admit that has been the most difficult to navigate. I am open to suggestions, so any advice for a regimen in a dietary plan would be not only beneficial but appreciated, so please feel free to leave suggestions.
