Glaze - Tumblr Posts
Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist). As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.

(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)
Tumblr is doing some stupid AI shit so go to blog settings > Visibility > Prevent third-party sharing.

So a free tool called GLAZE has been developed that allows artists to cloak their artwork so it can't be mimicked by AI art tools.
AI art bros are big mad about it.

Pantry in Philadelphia Inspiration for a large timeless l-shaped porcelain tile and brown floor kitchen pantry remodel with a farmhouse sink, recessed-panel cabinets, white cabinets, quartz countertops, gray backsplash, porcelain backsplash, stainless steel appliances, an island and white countertops
reminder that all art ive been posting lately has been glazed to protect it against ai theft, if you didnt notice that means its working wonders.
you can go to cara (dot) app, a artstation alternative site, and send artwork to let them glaze it for you, wait time is generally 1-2 hours, that's barely an inconvenience, you even recieve an email so you don't even need to keep checking.

you can do this on your phone!!!!!!!!!!!!! :OOO
APPARENTLY THESE DONT WORK!! USE GLAZE FOR BETTER MORE SECURE RESULTS!!
I made my own ai disturbance filters
Original post: I'm like 80% sure they'll work? I think the more of these we make the better so the ai does not learn how to work around them :3

anyway uhh yeah hope u like them feel free to use them
u dont gotta give credit if u do but i would love to see them in use if you use them so give me an @ if u want to, or dont :3
To be completely honest I’m probably gonna use this as well as glaze mainly because I’m paranoid but keep in mind glaze is the only source we know works 100% (maybe the ibispaint feature too? I haven’t looked into that) but yeah keep your art safe my lovely people!!

A new tool lets artists add invisible changes to the pixels in their art before they upload it online so that if it’s scraped into an AI training set, it can cause the resulting model to break in chaotic and unpredictable ways.
The tool, called Nightshade, is intended as a way to fight back against AI companies that use artists’ work to train their models without the creator’s permission. Using it to “poison” this training data could damage future iterations of image-generating AI models, such as DALL-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion, by rendering some of their outputs useless—dogs become cats, cars become cows, and so forth. MIT Technology Review got an exclusive preview of the research, which has been submitted for peer review at computer security conference Usenix.
AI companies such as OpenAI, Meta, Google, and Stability AI are facing a slew of lawsuits from artists who claim that their copyrighted material and personal information was scraped without consent or compensation. Ben Zhao, a professor at the University of Chicago, who led the team that created Nightshade, says the hope is that it will help tip the power balance back from AI companies towards artists, by creating a powerful deterrent against disrespecting artists’ copyright and intellectual property. Meta, Google, Stability AI, and OpenAI did not respond to MIT Technology Review’s request for comment on how they might respond.
Zhao’s team also developed Glaze, a tool that allows artists to “mask” their own personal style to prevent it from being scraped by AI companies. It works in a similar way to Nightshade: by changing the pixels of images in subtle ways that are invisible to the human eye but manipulate machine-learning models to interpret the image as something different from what it actually shows.

A Poll Of Your Thoughts On Generative AI
I really don't agree with the use of generative AI in any way, shape or form, but I wanted to create a poll to see just how many people think about it the same way as I do.
If everyone who participates in this poll can share it around, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on Cara! (My username is the same)
Please support the Cara team if/when you can, once they add other options to donate I plan to.
I'm also using Glaze and Nightshade to directly combat against AI on large platforms/Met@. I recommend all artists to do the same if you can, this is my first time using it so the effect is stronger than I would like but I'll get more experience with it.
I will be reposting my art over time.

I did a crummy doodle on my computer trackpad one morning and loved it so much that I wanted to polish it a bit.

Orange Poppy Seed Zucchini Cake - Fruits and Vegetables This moist zucchini cake is flavored with orange zest, which adds a burst of citrus flavor. Dried fruit and poppy seeds also add sweetness and a pleasing texture.

Overnight Burnt-Butter Cinnamon Rolls Even though they require a little more time, these burnt-butter cinnamon rolls make a wonderful breakfast treat and are well worth the extra work!

Desserts - Lemon Ricotta Cake This lemon cake is made even lighter, fluffier, and more moist by the addition of ricotta cheese. While the glaze elevates the flavor, it tastes just as good dusted with powdered sugar.
hhh ive been meaning to use nightshade for SO long, was about time that I reminded myself to do so LOL

pov pikachu when ai art exists and steals from other artists >_< hes seen some shit
