Just rereading ur work and tearing up once again how painful it was for Ginny to read Smita’s letter of goodbye and be safe before Ginny had to go back to Hogwarts. Like their friendship is so beautiful and it pained me to see how their lives were already splitting off from one another before the summer of the wedding, yet they still managed to keep in touch and not lose each other (that was until the war). It’s more heartbreaking to know how much Ginny needed Smita during the year snape took over but of course she was relieved that Smita never went through the cruelties that she had to endure. UGH EMOTIONS thank you for writing them

I'm so glad you enjoy them! I think we often only get one kind of friendship in our fiction--the ride or die, walk to the ends of the earth kind of friendship we get with the golden trio. Which is so lovely. But there are many kinds of friendships. There are friendships that get separated by circumstances. There are friendships that have to get put aside in the name of family. There are friendships that change and grow, and sometimes apart. These are all valuable and important too, and normal. I'd hate anyone to feel they 'failed' friendship but not conforming to the Harry-Ron-Hermione ideal of friends for eternity.

Ginny and Smita's friendship might look different, but it doesn't mean they love each other any less.
