Elon Musk is the Wheatley of billionaires. Here's my case:
Elon is a moron
He bought Twitter, overthrew all of the original workers, and is now running it to the ground
Most of his ideas are not his own, and a lot of them are fucking stupid
Those are my main three points. I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I can clearly identify.
This tweet is so much funnier now. The whole backstory of Bioshock is that Andrew Ryan, the guy Musk is quoting here, started a city entirely to be a libertarian paradise, but the moment someone else was successful enough to compete with him he made himself a dictator, seized all their assets, and began killing anyone who challenged him. He’s a character defined by his hypocrisy, constantly giving speeches like this about freedom and people pursuing their ambitions without limitation, but throwing all of those beliefs away as soon as they start to inconvenience him.
You know, kind of like a billionaire who buys a social media site, calls himself a “free speech absolutist”, announces that “comedy is legal now”, then blocks or bans all of his critics and changes the rules to limit satire.
You know what's really funny about billionaires?
The fact that they seem to only be motivated by profits but they don't realize that if they kept their workers alive and happy by giving them a higher wage people would work harder and be more motivated. If they showed even a shred of appreciation for human rights they would make more money.
Another thing; the end goal should NOT be all the money in the world. It should be enough to live comfortably and then investing the rest into the world to make it a better place. Elon could solve world hunger right now (at this very fucking moment) but instead of saving the lives of people who could to amazing things if given the chance. Instead he makes the conscious decision to spend hundreds of millions on the most trivial shit (rebranding Twitter to X). Less than a thousandth of that could change someone's life and here he is throwing it away like a toddler with a broken toy.
I could go on for another 20 paragraphs but I need to sleep rather than hating on the worst people in the world.
