He rights himself, the legs of the seat hitting the ground with a protesting screech that makes you jump. His lips pop as he lowers the popsicle. The juice spills over the bottom and down his fingers. He languidly laps up the blue trails running down the divets between the veins of the back of his hands. It seems futile since the same sweaty blue streaks run down his temples and the nape of his neck, but he keeps at it. He takes long strokes, flattening his tongue, up and down the side of the popsicle, licking away the outer coating that's turned to slush in such a short time.

I think I started to cry here because I swear I felt my eyes water for a second. 

Max!!!! I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into when I first put this onto my ‘to read’ list but it certainly wasn’t this. The images...will not...get out of my mind. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but nonetheless, I most definitely would like a taste of him😫😫😫!!!

It’s hot. The kind of heat that soaks into the earth and cracks it. It bakes into your front porch with such intensity that, even when the summer evening breeze roles in, the heat tickles your ankles as it oozes up from the ground seeking reprieve.

It’s so fucking hot that Namjoon sits next to you sucking on his third blue raspberry popsicle. You’d bought them as a joke when he’d died his hair blue the other day. But now, you thank your poor sense of humor.

Because the air isn’t the only thing that’s hot.
