no, you don't get it. This character has real personality in canon. And personality I imagined onto them. Which makes them a complex character

People who couldn’t handle Mabel don’t understand that her whole ark was going through their issues with her. Her manipulating and being kind of a dick to dipper? Solved in that one uncomfortable sock puppet episode. Her being selfish and unwilling to make sacrifices for those she loves? Solved in weirdmageddon. People need to stop bullying a fictional 13 year old lol

First off the whole “no one likes them” thing is obviously BS at this point. I know it’s wishful thinking from people who wanted the season to do badly to prove some kind of point or make themselves feel better, but Polin has so many old and newbie fans looking forward to the season.

Anyway- This expectation that only the most perfect most innocent and good characters are worthy of falling in love is boring AF. Characters should be allowed to be messy and complex and make mistakes, and the whole point of having 8 episodes to watch their story is for the character growth that happens within their season as the fall in love. If they were perfect from episode 1 there would be no plot. Did people forget stories are supposed to have conflict?

I don’t want Penelope OR Colin to be bland Mary Sues, I want “You’re my mess” and “you’re the imperfect man of my heart.” They make each other better as a couple than they are on their own and that’s so much more interesting to me than pretending they both can do no wrong. It’s not about where they start it’s about the journey!!!

I feel like this every time I hear ppl on any platform say show Penelope is the worst person in existence and that Colin is also terrible but less so and that they shouldn’t be waisting season 3 on this couple bc no one likes them and Colin can do better than Pen etc etc do y’all even hear yourselves

Or, or, hear me out, we can acknowledge and appreciate that characters are complex and still hate them and be upset about their actions
