Changeling The Dreaming - Tumblr Posts
Fae-changeling dynamics in different ttrpgs (with my OCs as an example) :D

Thanks for asking!
I'm not sure which three characters you mean, so I'll talk about all of them in brief :D
βIt gets kinda darkβ
Also English is my second language, so I apologise for any mistakes... And messed up punctuation.

So, these two. Winnie (left) and Journey (right). My DnD OCs. They come from a setting where from time to time a powerful goddess of storm arises and wanders the world, changing it drastically. The Storm has already came during these guys childhoods, and now it apparently is starting again, and everyone is anxious, since this shouldn't happen so often.
Anyways, Winnie, my fairy boy, who got kicked out from his home plane, Arcadia, by the previous Storm and to this day hasn't found a way back. He was raised in several orphanages, where he wasn't very well liked, for his fae nature made him pretty free-spirited and emotional, which bewildered other folk, who grew up with "being emotional = being inconvenient = bad" mindset. Usual stuff. So Winnie found a somewhat acceptable way of expressing himself in music. He is a Creation college bard. For now Winnie is travelling with a group of adventurers in search for Storm deity, and maybe he'll ask her to bring him back home. Or maybe he'll figure that this group has become his home and Winnie has no point in leaving... Who knows ;)
Journey is my changeling, who lived in a forest. During the Storm Journey found a girl laying in ravine motionlessly and, out of sheer curiosity about humans, Journey assumed her form. That girl was an heiress to a noble family, so after the Storm ended, a search for her was announced. They've never found the original girl, but they found Journey in her form and assumed that she was actually the one they were searching for β just without some of her memories from some head injury which occurred during the Storm. So Journey grew up as an aristocrat with a very good education, taking special interest in alchemy and becoming an Artificer Alchemist. However, growing up Journey finally understood what had happened that day. She felt immense guilt about stealing the life that didn't belong to her, even if it was no fault of hers. One day she accidentally revealed herself to be a changeling to her adoptive parents and fled in shame... Which is really sad, because her parents really didn't mind. Of course they'll grieve the fate of their biological daughter, but through this years Journey has become their kid. And now Journey has run away :(
Guess this group of adventurers will have to figure themselves out quite a bit...

Next we have my Selkie menace from Changeling: the Dreaming. I'll refer to him by his fae name: Foka. It's actually a name of Greek origin meaning "seal", Slavic people have used it as well (actually, many names Slavic people use nowadays are of Greek origin :D)
Foka was growing up as a completely normal boy in the port city in the northern Russia, until his grandmother gave him her Selkie coat before passing away, thus forcing Foka to undergo Chrysalis as a Selkie. And Foka absolutely hates this. He doesn't want to do anything with the magical insanity changelings have to deal with, he doesn't want to save the world from Banality, he just wants to live in peace. At the same time, Foka knows that there is no going back for him. Something in his soul is now repelled by the idea of going back to his boring, banal life. Besides, what he has now is an inheritance from his grandmother of sorts. And Foka loves her. For now he is still struggling with his changeling life, but deep down he knows he'll come to accept it soon.
Foka was actually based on leopard seal, which I find a perfect mixture of cute and terrifying, so he is kinda a menace. Unseelie Grump in a young body, with little attachments to both his old and new life and yet with vague longing for both of them. He is willing to help fellow changelings when he can, but don't expect him to be nice about it. Don't expect him to be nice about anything, really.

And now, finally, my old picture with human-ish mien of my CtL OC. That neck is killing me... Anyways, this is Cut and he is an Gristlegrinder Ogre.
Despite Ogre's reputation about being tall, muscular and terrifying, Cut is actually pretty slim for an Ogre, because his Keeper (that creepy flesh blob) didn't give Cut enough food. Which led to Cut's unhealthy relationship with food. Cut also has a frailty "must drink alcohol instead of water". Alcohol doesn't make him drunk, he's immune to it, but it is expensive and reminds him of his family in awful ways... So that sucks too :/
Cut is getting through his problems, though. He is really appreciative of what he has already and works for his future to be even better. He is a proud member of Summer Court. He works in different places (currently at McDonald's π), saving money to go to the uni and get a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. He has a small, but close friend group with other changelings. His fetch is in another country (Cut got out from Arcadia not in the place from where he left) and doesn't bother him. So yeah, Cut is getting his life together. My precious dude. Hardworking, slightly edgy (he's a CtL OC, that's kinda the point anyways) and a sort of goofy big brother for local newbie changelings.
So yeah, that's pretty much all the main things about these guys! Thanks again for asking :]

My new favourite thing in the world is Changeling the Dreaming, so behold:
The most stylish redcap you'll ever see π
(Her fae name is Kirsa the Bloody and she's an art student :D)

The most stylish sluagh you'll ever see π
(His fae name is Tycho and before being reborn into who he is today he spent quite a few past lives in all sorts of criminal gangs... Yeah...)

Edgy selki lady
(She is actually a grand-grand-grand-...-grandholder of the selkie coat Foca wears nowadays. Also she's dead.)

And some sidhe loser
(His fae name is Januarius, or Jan for short, and actually he's a good boi who will help Kirsa and Tycho tear down the local monarchy π)

(Also I thought about interacting with folk on Tumblr more, so if you have any questions regarding these or other OCs I have, my askbox is open... hopefully... I'm a newbie I'm so sorry :'))

My Changeling the Dreaming OCs in the post-Shattering era.
Januarius of House Liam, sidhe who didn't leave for Arcadia and so continues to rule over his freehold, comes to Kirsa the Bloody, leader of the local redcap band, to hire the band to help with dragon problem. Because apparently, redcaps were mercenaries who hunted chimerical beasts after Shattering happened. Their kithbook is now my favourite.
As you may see, Jan is pretty terrified of negotiations going wrong, but he shouldn't be β Kirsa the Bloody finds his poor attempt at drawing a dragon amusing enough to go and check out what it actually looks like :D
I'll let you decide, whether Kirsa thinks the drawing is cute... Or Jan himself is cute. Maybe it's both π
No text version is under the cut :D

Kiasyd and Dauntain, two NPCs for my now cancelled Changing oneshot, who are sticking together, because Kiasyd has Dauntain's phylactery (I'm using C20 lore). Their duo has pretty unhealthy dynamic, Dauntain heavily dislikes Kiasyd but he can't do anything about it, and Kiasyd simply uses him for her own protection. Also as a hunter, so Dauntain catches humans for her to eat and other changelings for her to study β a role Dauntain also heavily dislikes.
Despite all that, I like to think that over centuries, Dauntain will reincarnate and after some lives will be able to restore his Kithain self (that's where I don't use C20 lore, I hate the idea of irredeemable Dauntain) and will become an Unseelie Piskie once again. And Kiasyd, living through all those centuries, will learn to protect herself. And so, in modern nights these two will be able to hold a conversation without hostility.
P. S. A bit of lore once more: Dauntain has those patchy hair and a blue-ish brown eyes, because since he's a Piskie, his appearance tries to change in order to appeal to his social circle. And since these two live in a middle of the forest (read: nowhere), Dauntain has only Kiasyd and people they catch to serve as Kiasyd's meal around. So his appearance slowly starts to mimic that of fiance whom Kiasyd had when she was alive. She misses that man a lot. Of course, Dauntain's subconscious mimicry makes their relationship with Kiasyd even worse then they are already.

Kiasyd and Dauntain from my last post but with a bit more effort
They won't leave my head send help

Local redcap and sluagh being siblings towards each other day 6171819101192633. No, literally. These two have been self-proclaimed brother and sister since like their second life as changelings. They have been siblings for centuries now, in different bodies and circumstances. They have also been a pair of menaces to everyone else for centuries as well π

Local redcap is about to eat local sidhe >:)
Okay, no, Kirsa wouldn't eat Jan, she likes him too much. But he does activate her cuteness aggression, that's for sure π

Storytelled my first CtD (20th anniversary edition) one-shot set in Rus during Ivan the Terrible (so not long after the Shattering). Had a wonderful time, my players are very fun and creative people, so it was a blast :D
Here are portraits of NPC's I've made as well as some lore notes about each of them under the cut :]
1) Zlata, satyr childling. She was actually abandoned in the wood by her mortal parents who caught up on some weird thing going on with their daughter and being really superstitious (not surprising during that time) decided their kid is dangerous :(
Thankfully my players adopted her just as expected and at the end of one-shot she found a new home in house of Januarius and his wife.
2) Igor Indrick, beastie Thallein. He's also a head of local Oprichnina (personal soldiers of Ivan the Terrible who went around the land pretending to be destroyers of potential state traitors but in fact just robbing and murdering people) β a fact he abuses to specifically hunt changelings. All in all, terrible dude, in this house we don't like him.
3) Yuli, piskie Dauntain. Was tricked by sidhe he was serving into opening a cursed book, which Dreaming took personally. And by that I mean that Yuli became Dauntain with brand of the Lich, meaning that he from that point on had a phylactery which basically made him a thrall to whoever was in possession of said phylactery. Yay.
Yuli is actually a pretty good-natured guy, for Dauntain at least. As I said, he was a piskie once, so during the game he was trying his best not to harm Zlata and by association the players. In the end they got rid of vampire who possessed Yuli's phylactery and granted him freedom, except not so much β unbeknownst to Yuli, one of players stole his phylactery. Hasn't used it, but the possibility is there.
I really want to give Yuli a redemption in eyes of the Dreaming in later games. Dude doesn't deserve a thing that happened to him... I don't care that C20 is kinda opposed to idea of redeeming Dauntain. Rules are my plaything π
4, 5) Agrippina, Kiasyd, vampire who was in possession of Yuli's phylactery. They lived in secluded place in the local forest, so Agrippina mainly used her power over Yuli to use him as a hunter for her: he lead unsuspecting people and other creatures to their house and Agrippina ate them. Yay. Her backstory is pretty sad, but it doesn't excuse a thing, so my players ended up killing her.
I'm a bit upset I can't make up stories about her and reborn and redeemed Yuli in modern nights, but narratively it was definitely for the better π
6) Leptonyx the Men-eater, an Unseelie selkie. She hasn't, in fact, eaten any men, but she's definitely killed at least one in order to make a new selkie's coat - I used fanmade lore which says that in order to create a selkie's coat mortal or seal with selkie's blood should die. Oops.
She's shunned from selkie's society for her crimes, which doesn't upset her one bit. During the game she cheerfully asked players to lead another human to her, which they reluctantly did, leading one of Oprichnina to her. Which means that there is now possibly selkie who comes from Oprichnina β Leptonyx was looking for someone to pass the coat to.
7) Kirsa the Bloody, redcap. Leader of whole band of redcaps, she made players give her their possessions with a bit of threats before leading them to Januarius, whom she actually loves and who specifically asked her to lead any changelings escaping from Oprichnina to him. Sadly he didn't specify that those changelings are not to be robbed, and Kirsa's band needs something to eat... Oops.
There was a moment when Kirsa told players to give her everything of value they have and Zlata gave her flower crown which another player made for her. One of redcaps actually put it on, but sad eyes of Zlata made him ashamed of himself and he returned the flower crown to rightful owner π
8) Januarius of House Liam, autumn sidhe, ruler of freehold where players escaped to from their own, destroyed by Oprichnina. I dunno what to say about him. He's a good boy. Many adore him (even local redcaps, though they also enjoy messing with him), many think he is way to nice to be a capable ruler. For now his managing alright, but what will happen in the future? Only time will tell.

Meme redraw with my satyr gorl, Zlata
Original under the cut

I've been OBSESSED with my idea of ββan unseelie swan maiden pirate for the last few days, and now through this VERY quick sketch I can introduce to you Cordelia (She is ready to add a few hearts to her treasuryπ΄ββ )
