You know, almost the entire Zelda botw fandom has split into two parts. Some people think that Revali is an arrogant bastard who pretends to be more than he really is, while others adore him, considering him the best character from the whole game. And although my heart certainly belongs to Daruk and Yunobo, I do not feel any irritation towards Revali.

Yes, he is self-confident, sometimes even arrogant. But doesn't he have the right to be that? As shown in the fragments of his memories and his diary, he is the only one of the 4 warriors who didn't have some kind of birth given power. We were shown a scene where he moved a little from the center of the Updraft during training and was thrown to the side. But he did not stop, and continued to try and improve, thereby developing his strength.

I don't want to humiliate the other 3 warriors with my words. It's just that they were born with such power, hopes were up on them from the very beginning. They had no choice in who they wanted to become. Fate decided for them that they would be a shield and a sword for common people, that they would be responsible from their very birth, they had high expectations from them and they proudly fulfilled them without sparing themselves. But Revali had a choice. He would not have come up with an Updraft, he wouldn't have trained so hard, if he didn't want to. He could be like any other Rito. But he decided to become a warrior, and not just any warrior, but what he could proudly call an ideal. Revali voluntarily took responsibility, having nothing but a bow, arrows and himself. And he achieve what he wanted. He became famous not only among his people, but throughout Hyrule, and Zelda did not just come to him without reason.

So I think he has something to be proud of, and to be honest, I even respect him for that. Although for people who don't know the whole story, he really may seem like just an annoying bird with a bow.

💙 He's so proud of you, seriously, everyone who talks to him knows about you. If he's dating you, then you're good enough in his eyes, he can show off a little bit, right?

💙 Most dates take place in training area. He shows you his new moves or you practice with a bow with him. In between, you chat or eat.

💙 Hylia save those who look at you not the way he likes. Revali will not forgive more than one sideways glance at his "bird". And if someone has the courage to tell you something... Morally, they will be turned into a salad. Revali would like to do this physically as well, but the duty of a hero will not allow him.

💙 You live in the Rito Village with him. It's not up for discussion.

💙 He rarely uses your name in conversations, more often it's petnames. Darling, sweetheart, little sparrow, birdie, anything like it actually.

💙 His love language is quality time. He is ready to give you all the time outside of training and duty. (this bird will be very happy if you come to his training for him though)

💙 He is very jealous. If you give him any reason to have doubts about your loyalty at the beginning of a relationship, he will start such a scandal. Later, maybe in a couple of months or something, he'll feel better about it. But if, in his opinion, someone is getting too comfortable around you, then Revali won't hesitate to inform this person that you are taken. (Not always in nicest way)

💙 He literally follows you everywhere. At the beginning of this love gurney he was showing himself in all his glory. With the development of your relationship, he began to focus more on you.

💙 There are long nights with conversations where he shows that he really cares about you. And don't you ever forget that you are his one and only perfect birdie.

This is gonna sound so strange, but what would Revali… smell like? I’ve always found immense comfort in scents <3

It's not strange at all! I love to ask such questions myself.

For me Revali smells like forest after thunder. Electrified air mixed with smell of wet leaves and ground, add smell of wild berries or pine tree and you will get Revali.

Or maybe it would be more like dust or flowers with honey...
