Carrie Fisher - Tumblr Posts
Some words of wisdom from Carrie Fisher
“Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. ”
“If my life wasn’t funny it would just be true, and that is unacceptable.”
“Sometimes you can only find Heaven by slowly backing away from Hell.”
“I feel I’m very sane about how crazy I am.”
“And when you’re young you want to fit in. Hell, I still want to fit in with certain humans, but as you get older you get a little more discriminating.”
“In my opinion, a problem derails your life and an inconvenience is not being able to get a nice seat on the un-derailed train.”
“You know the bad thing about being a survivor… You keep having to get into difficult situations in order to show off your gift.”
“There is no point at which you can say, ‘Well, I’m successful now. I might as well take a nap.”
“No motive is pure. No one is good or bad-but a hearty mix of both. And sometimes life actually gives to you by taking away.”
Only thing that disappointed me in the last Jedi is that Luke doesn't make Rey give him a piggyback ride like Yoda did too him smh

My latest piece: Our Blessed Rebel Queen, Carrie Fisher
done in watercolour and ink.
Carrie Fisher has always been a great inspiration to me. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, I wanted to create a piece to bring me and comfort and strength. To look upon Space Mom and say “yes, I can face today.”

“You filled up my nights and then emptied my days.”
— Carrie Fisher, an extract from a poem she wrote in the diaries she kept throughout her affair with Harrison Ford, featured in her novel, The Princess Diarist
Carrie Fisher in 1977.
My mother read POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE, and said to me, a kid: “Look. Written by Princess Leia.” The book was ruthlessly honest. I admire that in people. Few things are as liberating as a well-placed, harsh, uncomfortable—but truthful—observation.
Leia looks much weirder than I remember her to be in the films but my little tribute towards the princess and the droid who shall always be remembered. May the force be with them both.
❛ I trust myself. I trust my instincts. I know what I’m gonna do, what I can do, what I can’t do. I’ve been through a lot, and I could go through more, but I hope I don’t have to. But if I did, I’d be able to do it. I’m not going to enjoy dying, but there’s not much prep for that. ❜

What are the important rules you live by? Be kind. Don’t hurt other people. It’s all the sort of Christian ethics stuff I thought was bullshit when I was a kid. No, it turns out it’s not bullshit. Tell the truth, be kind, all that corny stuff.
