This idea has been living in my mind free of rent for about a year now, so I have to say it somewhere. 

Itachi was barely into his early teen years when he joined the Akatsuki. He had his little conflicts with his dad and fights with the other Uchiha over Shisui. Plus the trauma from the massacre. What I’m saying is. 

Imagine Itachi joining the Akatsuki and everyone expecting a cold, level-headed, overly efficient shinobi, but instead they get a moody teenager who just kind of lounges around the hideout like a sad cat. 

But he’s of course too strong for the majority of the other members to do anything about it so they just have to let it happen and hope he feels like going looking for the nine tails sometime in the near future.
