he could feel the other's hesitation. honestly, he understood not wanting to help and while it might have left him stuck he would have understood if the other had completely ignored him and kept walking; or, at least, turned around and told him they couldn't help. the honesty, as blunt as it was, was a bit unexpected but appreciated. another fairy. "well, for what it's worth, i appreciate you stopping even though you didn't want to. i owe you for agreeing to help." he answered with a soft smile.
moving to get off the loveseat that they needed to, well, move cj found himself sinking back into the cushions with a dumbfounded look of defeat on his face. taking off the legs made sense, as did the cushions, but he never once stopped to consider simply flying it into his apartment. in fact, now that the other had mentioned it, there was probably some sort of magic they could use to make it even easier.

"i didn't even consider flying," he admitted honestly. in his defense, his parents weren't fae and as much as he loved them and the life they allowed him, being raised so far disconnected from his birthright and his species often left cj forgetting what he was; and what he was capable of. "i'm not sure if it will fit through the window, i didn't think to measure for that, but that would be easiest wouldn't it?"
Leo paused when the other man finally spoke, he had been walking by and seen the need but honestly- hadn't felt like exerting himself much so he was casually going to stroll past and not make eye contact. Unfortunately for him his gamble did not pay off. He should have known he was terrible at gambling- the whole only truth thing made it hard. "I am not busy, I really just didn't want to help you. But since you asked, I will help you."
Leo's body was a vanity project, not something meant for hard labor. A sigh came from him as he eyed the loveseat. "Do the legs come off? Every bit of weight you can take off it will make it easier. Cushions too. We can always fly it up through a window."

forced out of the group home against his own will-- something about not being such a grouch and actually integrating himself into the community that had taken him in or some other bullshit like that-- the merman was trying to play along and enjoy the festivities that were currently littering the streets. he didn't care much for what it was about, he wasn't touched by the moon like so many other's were, but even he could appreciate a hero's sacrifice; even if it was just from some lumbering land mass like a bear. a hero is a hero.

he already wasn't known for having the best temperament and, well, the people working the food booth he regretfully stopped at seemed as if they only wanted to make it worse. "ᚹᚺᚨᛏ ᚨᚱᛖ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚾᛟᛏ ᚢᚾᛞᛖᚱᛋᛏᚨᚾᛞᛁᚾᚷ*?" his voice was a low, frustrated grumble as he glared at the person behind the counter while pointing at the food he wanted. "give." he even put his stubbornnes on pause just long enough to try speaking english and yet they still wanted to act as if they couldn't understand.
in an act of frustration, he turned away from the booth to look for someone that could help him; even though he had no intention of really asking. reaching out as someone caught his attention, and came close enough to him, the merman grabbed the pretty little thing and pulled him over to stand next to him at the food booth. he didn't know what a bearclaw was, or if it was even good, but he was hungry and he wasn't about to walk away now without it. "get... me," he growled, using english again, as he looked at the man he was forcing to help him; his left hand squeezing tight around the blonde's bicep as his right hand pointed at the themed pastry.
